Just had my speedo (GT650) go dead after going along a rough gravel road. Turned out to be entirely mechanical. The driving tab washer only has a very thin engagment with the magnet ring. When the thrust washers wear thin the magnets might not be rotating. Also the seal is crap & can contribute to it jamming up. I put in an extra washer to remove the slack & bent the seal a bit. Just did a 500k trip & it is still working at no cost.
Dear sir, do you can show me where you put in an extra washer, in speed sensor. My speedometer live his life, but when I separate my speed sensor and rotate it in my hand is work. Please answer me, if you can. Thank you!
@@kiss6843 Take the circlip off so you can remove the ring with tabs that engages the magnet ring to the wheel hub. Check it is not bent or worn down. Also check the washer behind the magnet ring. May have worn thin. You would have to find a similar size one or make one.
Hey shane, I have 2012 GT250R. I live in the United States. Would you happen to know where I can buy a speed sensor or what bike has same senor for replacement?
