Just to understand how many double meanings and metaphors are in this song, there is a 50 minutes explanation video made by a korean youtuber. Korean has a lot of words that sound the same but mean completely different things and basically most of the lines have a double meaning to it. You watched the lyric video which is not really an accurate translation but for example "I got it" in korean can be read as [agari] which is a slang for the word mouth. This song basically is basically Han accepting his mistakes and growing from them, acknowledging the fact that everything he puts out is self composed or written. Fun fact this is more impressive thinking that Han is 21 y old and has 100 songs that he written, composed or produced himself. It's also a diss to the haters that are telling him how to do his job and in the end of the song he's basically mocking them and [beolroya] or the "star in my heart" line means the anti fans became his fan in the end anyway. Han is a lyrical genius in my opinion and genuinly an ace. Like he can rap like this and in one second he can switch and belt some of the highest notes in the group, he is super versatile too. Strongly recommend checking more 3racha songs. Song like P.A.C.E, Runner's High and Zone by 3racha I feel like they have a grime influence or so I think. Also strongly recommend checking all of Han's solos, amazing vocals and lyrics. Here's the link for the lyric analysis of "I got it" if you're interested to know more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IPM3FjETnrA.html Thank you for this amazing reaction!🔥🔥🔥

This track was released as a shade about MAMA apparently (a music awards show), back then Stray Kids wasn't nominated in ANY category, but they were invited to promote Kingdom there (a competition reality between groups) with an amazing stage. When MAMA was being aired, Bang Chan practically confirmed it, because he did his vlive and played I Got It, saying that Han must have his reasons hahaha

I'd class this more as straight k-hiphop which has more space to stick it to the system and flex a bit of anarchy. But Stray Kids definitely bring that same vibe to their k-pop tracks. It's really cool to see you open your mind to new genres, i went through the exact same process after my daughter got me hooked on this scene.

8:56 Tl:dr; Even though they are backed by a big company, Stray Kids have been in charge of their music and their sound basically from the very beginning. That's why they have such diverse music; when they want to try something new, they just do it and it always turns out great. I'd say that for the most part that is the case. Stray Kids was the first group I knew of that was afforded major creative liberties, especially in the production and writing of their songs. I think Seventeen also have control over a lot of the stuff they put out, but I don't think that was always the case. Stray Kids have essentially been in charge of their sound from the beginning, and they're kind of unique in that way. They actually are backed by one of the biggest idol entertainment companies in Korea, but when the group was formed the Boss said he wanted to try something new with them. (They even used to joke about how JYP, the Boss, was so far removed from them and their stuff that he only really talked to Chan about what they were up to since he's the leader. I don't know if that's still the case though.) There's a whole survival show they had to go through, if you'd ever be interested in checking that out in your own time.

All in" jajajjaa me causa gracia

I totally agree, Stray Kids hit different than most kpop groups because of the mere fact that Bang Chan picked the members himself, made their logo, created their sound, and all members fought for their position against the company from the survival show the company held.

I think what you said at 8:24 about bias against kpop is totally understandable for most of kpop groups because they mostly perform songs that were given to them. But there’s more genuineness in skz songs since they have the artistic freedom eventhough they also come from a big company.

I'm new to K-POP and I doubt I'll get into it anymore, I only follow it through Stray Kids, of course I've seen one or another K-POP video but it never caught my attention as much as Stray Kids did, it's the only group that I can call a real band, that creates their music and I can connect, I'm not saying that it's the best or the only one in the whole industry that makes music because I think there are also Seventeen, they collaborate a lot with their music, however I don't I connect with other groups.

Others have mentioned "I Got It" being wordplay disguising "agari" (and I mentioned it myself when I added my voice to recommending this song in a different comments thread). To clarify further, while technically, yes, it's essentially a vulgar term for "mouth" (kind of "animal mouth" or "stinking mouth"), and it's part of a common longer phrase that translates along the lines of "shut your mouth because it stinks," the connotation is getting slightly toned down in translation. "Shut your mouth because it stinks" is rude, but that's about it; you can say that. What's getting lost is that, in context, this is harsher; it's along the lines of "shut your f*cking mouth" -- which you definitely _can't_ say in kpop. Hence one of the reasons they disguised it behind slurred English. The industry-enforced restrictions they have end up getting worked around by the cleverness of their lyricism and bilingualism. As for grime, the similarity here is intentional. 3RACHA is well aware of multiple forms/styles, and Chan (as well as possibly the other two, but I only specifically remember Chan rn) specifically appreciates grime and is a fan of at least a couple UK grime artists. And he produced and arranged this track, as well as co-composing it with Han. Virtually every line in this song is wordplay, so when he says "magazine," it's almost guaranteed that he means both types that you mentioned. Han and Changbin are masters of wordplay, puns, double entendre, and that element is a core part of their lyrics. As other commenters have mentioned, there's a lyrics breakdown for this song that's close to an hour long because it has so many double and triple meanings and idiomatic references and whatnot. Others explained the "star in my heart" pun. What I don't think got mentioned is that the last bit, with the altered voice, is him imitating the voices of the haters, many of whom make snide little comments against him and pad their BS with culturally approved phrasing so it sounds like them simply being "helpful" or "honest."

The special thing about Han is that he is very good but he is not yet at his full capacity. This guy has an insane vocal registry and he is not even throwing it out there completely. There is some crazy stuff waiting to happen I'm sure. Also YES I also never would have thought that Kpop groups could go against their company and Stray Kids definitely do that - CONTINUOUSLY. When I heard their Gone Days track I was shocked to my bones. They are basically roasting JYP, like, seriously. The thing is -and this is a testament to how professional the company is- they were allowed to use that track and actually were given a music video that left no doubts as to who they were roasting. It's pretty impressive.

Under the original track video on Stray Kids' RU-vid Channel it says that Han wrote the lyrics, Bang Chan and Han did the production and Bang Chan arranged the track. Just in case you wanted to know :) *also about the independence of Stray Kids as artists under their label: Stray Kids (the memebers) were chosen by Bang Chan himself which is very uncommon in the industry, so you have a point there. It's also the reason why they get along well with eachother and work well together. Their label was hesitant at first about them making their own music and they do regulate it to some degree for company image reasons etc. However their label also knows that us fans love them for THEIR music and personalities. So yes they do have more control over their creative work than most other groups.

It's interesting that you brought your previous thoughts about the labels and companies because like every other industry, the K-pop industry can be really fucked up sometimes. These companies do have the tendency to restrict their artists and their art because in Korea the people who got a close eye to K-pop are very opinionated and ruthless, so the labels -- always thinking of money and popularity -- restrict their artists. They have to follow a lot of rules and all, and it's kinda sad when you think about the whole thing because... yeah, we have to make some sacrifices to get somewhere, but sometimes I feel like they don't have the freedom that they should have as young adults and artists. That sometimes contribute to dehumanize them here in the West... people love to call them robots and manufactured artists... which sounds a lot xenophobic and racist to me. The music industry in the West have several cases of power abuse by labels and management... look at Britney Spears, Taylor Swift for example. But anyway, Stray Kids always had some type of creative freedom when it comes to their music, since the beginning. Bang Chan, their leader, literally chose the members himself (and that's not common, it's always the company that chooses between trainees who's going to debut or not). Also, they always produced their own song which doesn't sound like a big thing to a lot of people BUT it is in K-pop since these big labels have producers of their own to producer songs or even hire someone from outside which... AMAZING, to be a performer is also a very hard job, to sing, to dance and all of that.. But SKZ doing their own music adds flavor to the whole thing, you know? It seems more legit.

Half the time I don’t even have to know the lyrics to understand the message because they’re so good at incorporating it into other elements of the tracks. i've been going through your entire stray kids reaction playlist and honestly having SUCH a delightful time watching you get to know these guys and their music. i don't think i'd be wrong in saying that you're exactly the kind of person they were hoping to reach with their music: the person who might have thought it wasn't for them, wasn't their thing, but you tried it, and stray kids rewarded you with something you genuinely couldn't find from any other group. and i genuinely love that you took a moment to acknowledge your own sort of unconscious biases about the genre. stray kids in particular really atively try to break down a lot of assumptions about what kpop IS as a genre, or what it should be, and it's so cool to see them have so much impact on someone. it's always fun to watch someone new get into a group you really love, but getting to watch someone really go on a journey like this with them is something really special.

The song is full of korean puns and word play. The main one being in the hook. Han's pronounce I Got It as "Ahgari" korean word that means mouth (negative/harsh slang) mouth meaning a stinky mouth (for talking sh*t). Han is really the ace of 4th generation. LET'S GEDDIT LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The pun at the end is with the korean word "byeol" which means star. When you want to say that something or someone is so-so you can say "byeol-loda" basically he said "you're so-so but you're a star in my heart" double meanings! It's like complimenting but not really 😭 I get what you said about being reluctant to kpop. It's a very competitive and harsh world with lots of control. I think it's great for you to start with STRAY KIDS but I want to tell you that they are quite an isolated case. In fact, they come from a big company in the industry and the big boss in well known for being a control freak but STRAY KIDS are so good at what they do. From producing to writing lyrics and being rebellious that the CEO is kinda "scared" of them. The members know where they want to go and what they want to do that JYP (the boss) kinda let them be and don't mess with their creative freedom. However, it's not the case for every group under the label JYP. One of the saddest cases must be GOT7. The group is from the same company as STRAY KIDS but for many years they had been under the control of the boss. The members that wanted to produce songs were often rejected by the boss. They didn't had that creative freedom. For lots of groups it's the case. The only group that I know has full hands on their works is SEVENTEEN. They produce their songs, make choreographies from start to finish. They are what we called a "self produced" group. I hope you'll be able to check their works too.

I know right! JYP has a soft spot for SKZ and especially Chan, I think. When I heard Gone Days and saw the music video, I was assured that he not only leaves SKZ be but also actually supports them! I don't think any other CEO would allow that track come out. JYP really impressed me with that one. Maybe because he is so full of himself that he doesn't even care :)

if i had to guess, the word for "so-so" in korean (or a synonymous equivalent) is likely similar to "star" in korean. the phrase "star in my heart" could be like a backhanded compliment? along the same lines of calling people special snowflakes

I'm glad you noticed that this talks about his pace and I just wanted to let you know that there are certain words and themes that are recurring in stray kids' discography and one of the most prominent ones is exactly the word/theme pace lol, they always talk about running/living at your own pace and not comparing yourself to others. Their lyrics are what made me fall for them in the first place cause I totally vibe with songs about love and whatnot but sometimes you just crave something a little more meaningful than that and stray kids always provides it! Thank you for your reactions to them, I've been enjoying it a lot!

Greetings from Germany 🌸 I've started to listen and watch all your SKZ reactions. Momentarily I listened to HAN's I got it and your comments. You have over 140 reactions there and I am nowhere near the end. But maybe you would like to consider watching the 2024 SKZ introduction. Worth watching and informative, even though very long. Explains a lot about our guys. 🌸

Han is a part of 3RACHA the producing unit of Stray Kids. He’s a genius lyricist and just as insane as Changbin when it comes to riding the beat in unique way. Fans have been desperate waiting for him to release a song called Scissor cus man oh man his flows are just not from this world, listening to some snippets of it.

Loved this one! Han has amazing flow he makes it seem EASY! Also on the note of misunderstanding the Korean word pronounced "naega", if you don't know the language, then simply asking if that's what he said is fine. If anything asking for clarification is better so you know what your reacting to. Thank again for all these reactions I'm glad you're loving Skz! *patiently waiting for an Easy reaction*

To me, Han Jisung, is one of the best of the best lyrical genius that plays a lot with words. I always love reading the lyrics he makes he's like a lyrics machine that keeps spitting lyrics not just nonsense lyrics but lyrics that has deep meaning. He's also multitalented. I love to watch you react to more solo songs of han. I recommend close, wish you back, alien, and happy. I also recommend streetlight by Changbin ft. Bangchan

Great reaction man, really enjoyed it! If you want to hear more of Han's solo work, his other songs are Close (has a music video but sadly no subtitles), Alien, Wish You Back, and Happy (those three don't have music videos, so lyric videos like this one are the way to go)

There has been issues with kpop idols saying the nword before but when you think you hear it in a Korean song it’s really “naega” which sounds a lot like the nword and means “i/me”

I enjoy watching your reactions quite a lot. I think a good % of it is because you don't edit them, and you have intelligent thoughts on something you're not familiar with; you try to understand and appreciate the music from different parts of the world and have an open mind. It's refreshing. 😊😊

There is also a live performance from the halyu festival he did where he showed a yet to be released song called scissor. It's fire 🔥 the whole performance is 3 racha with each a 1 minute solo. I think you'd really like it 😊 lots of love

I agree, however, you also have to keep in mind that since BTS is more famous, it will obviously have more mature and immature people, which leads to these kinds of problems. Please stay, let's respect the other groups, we're not the best fandom either, let's just be family yes?🤗 Chan looks at us 👀
