They couldn't use Ultra Sonic due to Ken Penders's legal threatening to SEGA, Dark Sonic can't be used due to Sonic X's cancellation and Hyper Sonic cannot be used for being sheer and unadulterated epilepsy fuel. Well. Only Ultra and Hyper have reasons to not appearing in games. Ultra because of Ken Penders and Hyper for being epileptic rocket fuel.

If that was really the reason, they'd just slow down the colors. I don't think he should be plain white like most people do. Or, if he is, I'd at least like him to have sort of rainbow energy emitting off of him. But I think I know the real reason why they won't bring him back. It's not because of going overboard with the emeralds (they've added the Sol Emeralds since then, and the Chaos Emeralds are the Super Emeralds), it's not because of similarities to Dragon Ball (if anything, Dragon Ball ripped off Hyper Sonic _twice_), no. Hyper Sonic... the extremely overpowered form that all of us want to return, but Sega doesn't want to return because he's "too similar to Dragon Ball Z and Super transformations". Can Goku kill everything within 3 miles just by jumping and jumping again? Didn't think so. Hyper Sonic is unique.

I really think that Hyper Sonic should be allowed to return in another game just don't give Sonic any other state beyond Super and Hyper cause otherwise you'll just give him the Super Saiyan 3 equivalent of a transformation.

That Hyper Sonic mod in SADX is pretty good, but the Hyper sonic in that Sonic, Shadow, Metal sonic overhaul mod is the best! :D He's like MUCH faster and more OP in that one, plus he can Fly, has boost, and a power that builds up so you have slowly restoring gauge :P best one tbh
