If someone needs to hear this: I’ve tested the cloud III wired, wireless and many headsets in the past and this was my experience: Cloud III wired vs wireless DON‘T by the wireless version, I don’t know what went wrong, I used the same USB Port with the same Ngenuity EQ and sound settings but it‘s just worse. The great Microphone sound that you get from the cloud III vanished with the Wireless version and the latency was quite noticeable if you play high FPS games. My personal experience with the cloud III wired was a lot better than with the wireless version in every aspect, but when it comes to music especially with EDM, Metal, Rap etc. the bass is just missing and if you are a large sound enthusiast and don’t need a headset with a great microphone, there are a lot of alternative ones that may be more suitable. For comfortability, it is one of the best ones I’ve tried out so far except for the Razer Kraken v2 pro which I even forgot having on after a while I will probably test the cloud alpha soon and may update this comment
So I appreciate the feedback on this for other users. I can explain tho that the wireless version sounds worse due to the fact it's a wireless headset. There needs to be a DSP chip to produce the audio then you add a low latency connection which degrades audio quality. Alot of the time when you go wireless you are going to sacrifice audio quality. That was why I very rarely reviewed wireless headsets they just sound worse. I had bought the steel series arctis nova pro wireless and I really didn't like it. The sound quality was no where near that of the beyerdynamic dt770 I was using for literally half the price. The blackshark v2 pro wireless headset also sounds about equal to the v2 wired version which is half the price. Wireless is just not a good option if you care about sound quality.
I think that the cloud 3 are really damn good but since my video I've been instead recommending the cloud 2 for competitive fps/shooter games. I still stand by my video I think that the cloud 3 are great for literally everything. I found that they did good for footsteps but I can't deny the cloud 2 is a bit better at footsteps and directional audio.
thanks for the review, I just want to mention how impressed I was with you responding to so many people within the comments. you rarely see that especially after the video pasts a 72 hour post. 2 thumbs up!
When i tried the cloud III it was bad... The quality was not there. Im not hating, but you could compere the cloud III with a 2 doller headset from wish. I dont get why people say that its good. I have the cloud II and its worlds apart from the cloud III. The cloud II have very good sound quality and is an all around good headset. I personally would keep your hands away from the cloud III. Good vid tho
I agree that the cloud 2 are better for fps games and the 3s have a heavier midrange and try to be a bit neutral but the cloud 3 in my opinion weren't bad I quite liked them. However I can definitely see why some people including yourself don't like them.
I have many doubts about the cloud iii headset. The audio is very subjective, some reviewers say that it's not a good headset for FPS and competitive games, but in the other hand anothers reviewers say the opositive, the headset doesn't compare to the cloud ii, but it's a very good choise for FPS and competitive games.
So I've since the videos I've made gone on record and in many comments said that I don't think the cloud 3 are as good as the cloud 2 for fps and competitive games where footsteps are important. The cloud 3 are very mid range heavy and have a slightly subdued high end which causes footsteps to be less noticable. The cloud 2 nail the sound of footsteps so well that it's just the better option. I still do like the cloud 3 more but I am also aware of it's short comings.
I have the HyperX CLOUD ALPHA WIRELESS. For mainly FPShooters, Open World Shooters and when matching the 50mm dual chamber and DTS X no issue telling where footsteps or gunshots are coming from. Also for open world games with less or little shooting games like Dying Light, Uncharted 4, Tomb Raider with them rich game environments the sounds are excellent with the combo and they are very clean sounding like when a explosion gos off its crisp but no distortion The battery is excellent 1 to 2 times a month if that I charge headset. I use only on PC and dont use Hyper X software its installed though I rather use my onboard sound card software. I can do everything and more with it. To get DTS X I installed free full license DTS X They are a great sounding headset as for mic for gaming online with friends the mic is more than fine 50mm drivers DTS X 300hrs + Dual chamber Onboard sound software works with it its a great combo for me PS friend has new clound 3 and I am sure they are good too
Overall the HyperX Cloud III is the much better Headset. Even for Story games it‘s very good! The comfort and mic are amazing! And I love the neutral sound.
So. If u could reply to my comment that would be fantastic. So im kinda stuck rn between the 2. I want the alpha cause i feel like they would be better long-term. I feel like the cloud 3s would break in a matter of weeks where as the alpha would last awhile. So when it comes to duability witch do u think is better? and also for games like Valorant and csgo witch of the 2 are better?
I would agree that the alpha feels the best build out of the 3 but for competitive games the cloud 3 are your best option there best of both worlds pretty good durability and great sound. I don't think the alpha are good for competitive shooters
@@IAmVehement Hmm alright thanks for the help i think imma go for the alpha cause ive been through like 6 headsets from razer roccat logitech u name it so i NEED something that will last me a long time
What's the perfect balance? I want a headset where It has both great sound for audios/music but also want to hear footsteps and stuff, Is there truly a balanced headset like that or do I have to choose one or the other?
The cloud 2 or 3 in my opinion are a really good balance and if your not only talking about this specific video I highly recommend anything from the steel series nova line wires or wireless EXECPT the nova pro wireless. I had a set and they are super over hyped and do not sound good for the price. But a good price to performance is the nova 4-5 is a good spot my favorite is the 7.
So I just bought the Alpha S and I can not hear foot steps they are so quiet! I also didn't realize I would lose ALL my audio setting from my sound card using USB. How do I control audio settings with USB?
Sadly using the USB of the cloud alphas is you are bypassing any other soundcard you are using whether it's your sound card on your motherboard or a USB soundcard or audio interface. Also sadly there is no eq software unless you use a 3rd party software. I don't personally think the alpha s is a good solution for fps type games I mention it in most of my videos on the alpha s.
@@user-xx6fv4tu2q I'd highly recommend the Cloud Alpha with the 3.5mm jack/splitter over the Alpha S as 7.1 surround sound is a bit of a gimmick that doesn't translate well in most fps games. Even more so without the inclusion of EQ software.
Would you recommend the cloud 3s for long term?? I have owned two logitech pro x headsets, the first one the right ear stopped working 2 years later, then the second one the plastic started to come apart 2 years later, it seems like they are made to break once warranty runs out, I have had them for almost 3 years now and they are literally held together by rubber bands and tape, I bought the corsair HS65s but they have serious audio leak problems (teammates can hear everything on my PC even when the headset is fully turned down and muted). I just need something that sounds good, feels good and will last Also I really like you mentioning the plastic caps on the alpha s that could break, as that is the first thing that broke on my pro x's, then the plastic that holds the headband together broke
So I haven't had the cloud 3 long term but they feel very well built and I don't see the same thing happening here and for leaking I could t hear my environment whilst recording and testing but I can't say for certain if your environment is very loud like a clicky keyboard One thing to note is my cloud 2s died within a year and a half so I can't say if these won't do the same.
@@IAmVehement A year and a half is rough but I will buy them regardless, and nah my enviorment aint loud at all it is an issue with the headset, even if i turn the volume wheel down and mute the mic on the hs65, my audio still leaks and everyone can hear it
Yea I think there still worth it and the ones that died could of been dumb bad luck. And yea I think audio leak shouldn't be an issue but can't promise but I personally didn't run into the issue.
The left ear just went out on my Logitech pro X and I’m currently looking for a new headset 😂. That’s the second pair of pro x that has done that to me. It must be a common thing.
I've sadly never tested the cloud stinger 2 or the original stinger. However I tried there similar headset the cloud core and it was pretty decent. Basically everything I've tried from hyper x headset wise has been really good.
Hi friend, I'm not sure which HyperX to buy for the PS5, I want one that is excellent in audio for campaign games/soundtracks, which HyperX do you recommend?
They are very similar but there are a few differences between the wired and wireless versions. Overall tho they are VERY similar. The audio quality is different the wired version from what I've heard sounds better.
@@IAmVehement So from what I searched... there's Alpha S and there's Alpha (without S). Think Alpha Wireless is simply the wireless version of Alpha (without S), which is an older version of Alpha S (I think?). With that said, I have no idea how much better the Alpha S' quality is, and whether or not it's worth getting tangled over by a wire.
The cloud 2 are better then both of these for competitive fps games. But if you want to get the 3 or alpha s then you would definitely want to go with the cloud 3 the alpha s really do a poor job at footsteps awareness. I do prefer the alpha s for almost everything else tho.
Hi, which one should i buy in the 2 in ur video to use with quadcast for streaming triple a game? I plan to stream mostly RPG game, also I usually listen music too.
Hello, first of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the excellent explanations you have provided. I have a question for you. Between these two headphones, which one would you recommend for playing games like GTA, Dying Light, FIFA, Fortnite, and others (for PS5)? Also, regarding the Cloud 3, I would like to get the wireless ones, but your response to my comment may help me. Thank you very much.
For what your doing I highly recommend the alpha s over the cloud 3 it's really great for the type of games you play. If you were playing more competitive fps games I'd say cloud 2 or 3.
@IAmVehement I apologize for any inconvenience. Could you advise me which of the two options offers higher/better audio quality overall? I'm asking you this question because I'm very interested in sound quality. I'm asking you this question because I'm very interested in sound quality.
I would say the alpha is the higher quality. It just seems to not have super accurate footstep directional ques. The cloud 2 is the best for that but I do find myself to prefer the alpha over the 2 and I'm also more interested in sound quality over everything else.
So I’m a casual gamer with minimal knowledge about headsets and don’t stream or play online only single player, would you recommend the cloud 3 or alpha? I plan on plugging in directly to my ps5 controller
Wired also almost always sounds better. I had bought the steel series arctis nova pro to replace my beyerdynamic dt770 and deeply regretted it. They didn't sound even half as good as the dt770 and honestly I now just can't recommend wireless to anyone that genuinely cares about audio quality. Unless your looking at the audeze Maxwell but I still say go wired and save money and be happier.
Steel series nova 3 unless you want more bass. But the detail and directionality (from my research) is better on the nova 3. I've used the cloud 3 a ton but I've never used the nova 3 but I have used almost all the other nova headsets and I would assume it falls along the same line as all the others.
Great Video! I'm looking for a new wired "all in one" FPS/Story/Music/Movies headset which would you recommend between those 6 1- Logitech G Pro X 2- Hyper X Alpha S 3- Hyper X Cloud 3 4- Hyper X Cloud 2 5- Razer Kraken V3 6- Razer Blackshark V2 7- Steelseries Arctis Pro + Gamedac 8- Epos H6 Pro 9- Corsair HS80
Steel series or epos h6 pro For cheaper headset my favorite is the g pro x I think it's a jack of all trades power house with really good sound My personal daily driver is the steel series arctis nova 7 for console and laptop. Then beyerdynamics dt770 pro for my main pc.
Thank you for answering❤ As I can afford the other options I'll remove the G Pro X from the options but I'm confused because all 3 you mentioned EPOS, SS, DT are all the same price so which would you recommend as an all in one.? P.S: I can't afford a DAC if the DT needs one.
Dt 770 have a 32ohm version that doesn't need a DAC/amp however I'll put the gaming ones in a order for you 1. Steel series nova (7 or pro) 2. Epos h6 pro 3. Logitech G pro x 4. Hyper x cloud alpha s 5. Hyper x cloud 2/3
@@laithorabi9571 My headphone sliders both fell off one after the other within 4 months, zero abuse, just used daily. DT 770 build quality is terrible. Sound is unremarkable and tinny. Wouldn't waste your money. Fox mic is also a side grade to Blue Yeti but gain settings are terrible. Literal on off.
Bought the cloud 3 yesterday and my 3 year old cloud alpha simply sounds better on my ps5 Idk if im doing something wrong but im really not happy with the cloud 3… what a shame I tried every settings and stuff
hmm thats interesting maybe the sound signature is just not to your taste. I know some people dont think the cloud 3 is as good as the cloud 2 and some people prefer the bass heavy sound of the alpha. the cloud 3 are more nuetral and less "exciting" and that might be why you dont prefer them. Also without the usb sound card the cloud 3 arent as good and i think thats something i should have touched on in the video.
@@IAmVehement I don't know why, maybe I'm messing something up, could you please in your spare time make a video about hot to use the eq in the app with the best eq settings you recommend.
Bro make me clear which one should I buy cloud 3 or cloud alpha for multiplayer game like pubg ? And mention which you think the best mic when connected to mobile phone. Thanks
I have an HyperX Stinger and one side is having issues (noises, lose the sound…). I’m thinking of upgrading to the cloud 3. I play games like call of duty. Some of my friends have wired other wireless headphones. What do you recommand?
I feel like cloud 2 or 3 would work pretty good for cod however believe it or not the cloud 2 have better directional awareness and picks up footsteps better compared to the cloud 3 but the cloud 3 has more software support. I wouldn't recommend the alpha s for competitive games like cod tho there more suited for open world games and immersive titles I dont find the alpha s to be great for footsteps.
i would not get cloud 3, i got it and the mic did not work at all, very short wire length, and everything is in only the 2 ears, it will not be directional.
Hi , I am warzone player and I really care to hear footsteps , sound quality and microphone , should I go with HyperX Cloud 3 wired or Cloud 2 or alpha for PS4? Thanks
Competetiv food steps i have the Option to get the Hyper x Alpha or the Cloud 3 for 60 Euro what would you say would be the best for me on the xbox Series x Thank you
Depends on 2 things if your trying to go wireless then neither of these will work but if your ok with wire then you need to know how awful the wire is with the alpha s which I would assume is way more annoying on a phone but for pubg I think you'd be better with the cloud 3 or cloud 2 I think the alpha are more useful in single player games the footstep awareness just isn't as good with the alpha s in my opinion but does have a wider soundstage which could be helpful but my recommendation is the cloud 3 or cloud 2 most people actually find the cloud 2 to be even better for competitive shooters like pubg fortnite and cod
Please reply me i am going to buy headphone upto 15K and i have choices Cloud alpha or cloud 3 and can u suggest anyone for BGMI game better performance
I'm not sure what bgmi means but I think for rpga and single player games and some fps the alpha is really great but competitive games the cloud 2 and 3 are better
Hey im just wondering if its possible with the alpha s to plug the 3.5mm jack directly into my pc's motherboard or do i need a splitter cable to split the 3.5mm cable into a mic cable and a audio cable?
Most motherboards don't have a mic/headphone combo jack and would need a split cable to plug into the motherboard and get both mic and audio output. I don't know what mobo you are using but I'm going to safely assume you are going to need a splitter. However it has a USB soundcard you just plug into your PC and your good to go and get to use the software.
I'd say it's pretty good no latency really but it has the same sound quality in headphones that you hear in the mic test so It can somewhat be distracting
I think most people would prefer the cloud 2 due to better bass and slightly better footstep and directional awareness me however I do prefer the sound of the cloud 3 but they may not necessarily be better then the cloud 2 but build and software you get more with the cloud 3
@@IAmVehement I used cloud alpha wired before and the sound wasn't loud enough for footstep audio. That's why I was wondering if it's a good option or not
@IAmVehement I go to goggle And I search and Shaw me that hyper x alpha s has a better wired And another websit told me that cloud 3 has a better wired
Hi, thank you so much for the effort and the explanation, i have a question please if any one can help me to choose , im always looking for a good mic, and a good quality in sound specially Bass, ( for music movies, and also for gaming), if you have any recommendations it will help a lot really, and i want to ask between cloud alpha S or razer barracuda x 2022, or thers ....??? Thank to everyone how replay.
I had the barracuda x and really didn't like them they sounded quite bad which is why I never reviewed them. I think the alpha s is a much better option or for cheaper the cloud core are pretty decent. I also think some of the Logitech stuff in the similar price point is great as well. But I really don't recommend the barracuda x
@@IAmVehement thank you so much for reply, i really appreciate 🙏🏻 , i will take your advice, so i will about alpha s or maybe cloud 2 or 3, and search also for Logitech. Thanks again bro 🙏🏻
@@IAmVehement yes i saw that everyone talking about cloud two, but about the mic cloud 3 is better that what i saw in videos, so probably i will go with cloud 3, i hope it have a great bass for music and gaming with clear sound, And thank you so much for your time .
Sorry I didn't reply right away to this but the mic is sadly not better then in this video. It's quite poor. But bass yes it has ass for music and games.
so which one should i get for just valorant? Also does alpha have better sound than alpha s in terms of for fps games? Also is alpha more comfortable than the cloud 3s? Like I heard cloud 3s have too much clamping force? THNAKS!!!
The alpha s are so much more comfortable and the cloud 3 aren't as good at fps games as the cloud 2 but the cloud 3 do footsteps better then the alpha s and the alpha regular I've not used.
Depends if your going to be going USB directly to the console or directly into controller with 3.5mm I don't find that the cloud 3 sound nearly as good as there USB mode but the alpha s sound great even without there USB connected
Probably I can't comfortably recommend the cloud 3 not being used by USB when compared to alpha s they just don't have the same sound resolution while plugged into a controller where I don't see much of a sound loss with the alpha s
I love the alpha but my question do you play more competitive games or single player games because I'd go cloud 2 if you play competitive games but if you don't the alpha is great at just about everything.
hello bro i'm really confused so i want to help me which is best for sound overall and gaming and more comfortable BlackShark V2 with soundcard (2020) OR HyperX cloud 2 these in my country have the same price sorry for bad english :(
