I had Thorpe as second place already, only barely behind towers bc they have better coasters overall but with much worse theming. Hyperia easily shoots Thorpe to first place in my books

The "missing" bolt actually just has the cosmetic cover installed. The others do not have this due to either the covers being damaged or not having time to attach them, since they are not required for safe ride operation

It happens, new rides often have misshaps with the ride system causing it to stop the train (detecting a problem when there isn't one)

IMHO Iron Gwazi beats Hyperia. Its twice the length and more intense. My big worry for Hyperia is the fact its in Thorpe Park, who's management are notoriously bad at running the park..and point proven, Hyperia has only been open for one day and already its closed permanently till further notice - Embarrassing, but not entirely unexpected going by Thorpe Parks history of poor park management. Unfortunately it looks like Hyperia was a rush job. It was never given enough time for full testing - the track was only completed 2 months ago! - to put it in perspective, The rides in Epic Universe are being tested NOW, a full 12 months before park opening!! This all just sums up the UK theme park industry. We just play at it, never really fully commit to putting in the resources necessary to successfully run the rides and parks.

Very. They fit all shapes and sizes really well. My daughter is seven and small obviously and she fits perfectly and feels really safe but then she would I guess! The ride is much better if you don't hold on to the bar however!

Always makes me suspicious when they run a very successful press event and opening day, and THEN reliability issues start to occur.

​@Coaster_Contrarian It's typical Thorpe Park - They are utterly useless as a theme park operator. I'm amazed it lasted a day. This ride has been rushed out...hardly any testing (baring in mind the Epic Universe coasters are being tested 12 months before opening) - the track was only ly finished 2 months ago!! This sums up Thorpe Park unfortunately- second rate Park operator.

@@Show_Guide I don't think the work was sequenced or planned properly. I mean, they haven't fully restored the lake, so the "splashdown" is on dry land, as it stands, and the ride area is still a muddy swamp. And this is after they scrapped the viewing plaza.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon!

It definitely tops Smiler. Generally Nemesis and the swarm are also placed above the Smiler, but it was definitely in contention for the top spot until Hyperia existed.

It's like 5 hours away from me, Alton towers is 1 and a half hours for me.

Thorpe Park are a joke when it comes to running their park. I am not surprised in the slightest that they have closed the ride within 24 hours - absolutely pathetic! The Park is run by kids and the management regularly don't open rides till 2pm or even not at all. THIS is why a Universal Park in the UK will never work and why most likely it won't actually go ahead. Thorpe Park charge £10 to Park and make thousands per day in parking, yet they refuse to address the huge pot holes in their car park and exit road. All those people making the trip to Thorpe Park today, only to find the ride closed. It really is poor, but not unexpected for this second rate theme park.

@@Show_Guide agreed. And they have done the usual 'free return as it's shut' response. But it's not that simple when people may have travelled from a long distance or had to arrange work etc around their visit

This comment and the replies are comical. You do understand that rides are closed due to *safety* right? They literally could not legally open them.

​@@nopeno-s5r You do realise they are supposed to test rides thoroughly and for quite a long time BEFORE they open to the general public, to ensure they are not only safe but run correctly. It's just more embarrassment for Thorpe park and more proof they are inept at running a theme park.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved and Hyperia will be operational again soon!
