Hyperkin is the best way to go. People that have used RGB for Genesis w/scart most have adjusted there TV for that.... so when adjusting for Hyperkin the RGB image looks just as good if not better. Also all other RGB options I've tried have game play lag but the Hyperkin doesn't. Now as far as the Sonic game in motion it's looks like that on rf, composite and scart RGB. It has nothing to do with the Hyperkin cable. In the sonic games I've tested when moving the color in the background gets darker but it does that no matter what video cable your using. I've only noticed this on the Sonic games ... well 1&2... I havent tested the others. But any other game I don't see it happening in motion. Anyway Hyperkin is the best way to go in my opinion (no lag), looks just as good as other RGB options. Also you wanto to make sure you have a HDTV that can center the RGB image cause some HDTV usually the older ones pushes the image to the left a little. And this goes for all RGB options not just the Hyperkin.

Also this video helps a lot so I hope your still making videos because you know what your talking about for sure. I'll share my videos with you if you don't mind when I get my cable in.

This is for the Genesis 2 right? As the original model couldn't output stereo from the back, you had to have a second wire going to the headphone jack.

RGB for ever. Ive tried a bunch of these cables for various consoles but RGB still takes the cake.

How long ago did you buy the cheap scart box and cheap scart cable? Did you notice any interference or problems shown by RGB Bob?

How much do you want to bet that this is simply digitizing the composite video source? It would be nice if someone would open the cable to understand that is actually being converted. The video compression on RU-vid does not allow for very good comparisons.

Cant you just plug some external speakers into the 8mm jack in the front and draw the stereo from there??

Is it me, or is it weird to freeze a shot in motion, and analyze the quality, when actually in motion, especially with a Sonic game, it’s seems indistinguishable to the human eye?

One last thing, you literally have the worst Model 1 rev. That looks like a VA7 which doesn't have nearly as good audio as the NA VA2 - VA6 Model 1s. I'd seek out a better Model 1 if possible. Then again you can always install a Mega Amp on that VA7 and it'll sound much better.

For $30 you can’t go wrong. It’s not like you’re going to be playing your genesis/megadrive for more than 30 minutes. Honestly though, aside from the clarity achieved by all these devices, I still prefer using an old CRT. .... better yet, if you can find a CRT with a component port, you’ve struck gold! This means you can run that RGB and get scanlines. You either have to buy the retro vision cables or do a cheap scary converter box
