Hyperlinking to a Bookmark in a Different document in Word 2016

This video explains how to create a hyperlink in one document which can point to a bookmark in a different document. If you have a document and you need to provide a hyperlink to the contents in a specific page in another document. First you need to create the bookmark for the contents in the other document and then create a hyperlink for the text in the original document for the bookmark created in other document.

why does the document download automatically instead of opening online and navigating to the bookmark ?

If you have the documents in a network folder and they also have the access to them then they can see them.

Yes it works in Office 365 Word also. When you right click on mouse after selecting the text move the cursor to Link and then click on Insert link from shortcut menu that will display the insert hyper link window and rest is same as explained in video.
