You don't need to set apps to "no restriction" to get notifications. MIUI does not kill apps like everyone thinks. If you don't get notification, it's because of android deep sleep mode not miui. Android starts deep sleep mode to save more power when you didn't you the phone for 30 minutes. This includes delaying notifications. You need to unlock the phone wake up the system. If you don't want notification to get delayed then, set your apps to "no restriction". This includes all android phones not just xiaomi. I use MIUI and pure android both for years and miui doesn't do anything different than pure android to save power/kill apps.
I recently just bought Xiaomi Redmi phone with Hyperos pre installed out of box, yes Xiaomi restricted notification when screen goes off, I always get delay notification from WhatsApp even I already set "no restriction" and set to auto restart to WhatsApp, I never had this kind of issue when using Samsung with OneUI since 4 years ago, I always get notification on time when using app like whatapp, telegram, gmail etc even when phone screen goes off for more than an hour, but no notification with HyperOS
I got HyperOS on my Xiaomi 13. Honestly I think it's very polished and there were zero performance issues with my phone after updating. However, I do agree that Xiaomi needs to completely revamp their ringtones. It sounds too out-dated now
I have it on my Poco F5, which is perhaps considered a mid-ranger, and everything so far has been solid and silky smooth. It definitely consumes a lot less RAM and resources as well. The only one weird bug that I've experienced so far is when I once tried to open my phone, the screen only renders at 60fps even though I've forced 120Hz to stay at all times. The only way I fixed it is by clicking it to custom 60Hz, and then clicking it back again to 120Hz to make the high frame rate work. I'm not exactly sure what happened there, but everything else works very well for now, aside from that one weird bug.
@@KMASIF-mi9yjSure, but you don't make a public fuss with an all new OS name for some under-the-hood changes and optimizations. Regular consumers will just think that it's a marketing trick and rightfully so.
@@BojanTomic 😅miui got a lot of bad reps. So they needed to get rid of that name💀 It will be interesting if they can restore their reputation with this.
Pro: lock screen customise , smoother operation , less RAM/ROM usage CONS: most old Theme dont work , some bugs here and there ,more or less looks the same as MIUI 14
Hi mate. I've been watching your videos for a while now and I have to say, you deserve way more views and subscribers as you communicate to us on a customer level which makes it easier to relate! Because of your videos, I got into cloud gaming and absolutely loved it but my affinity for hardware-level quality made me depriortise it and primarily game with pc/consoles unfortunately. Keep making these high quality videos. Love from 🇬🇧!
Wow. Thank you so much for the kind words. It really means a lot to me 😊 I'm glad that you at least got to try out cloud gaming! That was the whole point of my videos covering it. I just wanted to people to try it out before knocking it, which I think is worth the experience. Thanks again for watching my videos and I'll do my best to keep it up!
for battery stats sot its "digital wellbeing and parental controls" -----> view activity details (for poco its the same thing but on dashboard) for the labels for the control panel its "notifications and status bar" ----> turn dont show icon labels off
The extra dim option is hidden in accessibility settings, once you turn it on you can get the extra dim toggle button in control panel To turn on extra dim go to Additional Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Menu > Turn on Accessibility Menu Then hold both volume buttons, this will open accessibility menu, there you will find extra dim option turning it on will also give you the option to add its toggle button in control panel.
The notification behaviour is an android thing. Starting from android 13, apps should prompt the user first to accept permission to get notifications. If denied twice, you'd have to go to settings to enable it. Many old apps have not caught up to this new update and not requesting permission on runtime that's why many have notifications disabled by default.
@@abirhasanshovon1947 That's related to xiaomi killing background apps which he also mentioned and I totally agree, not about turning off notifications by default which what I was pointing out. I know this first hand because Im a mobile app developer and xiaomi killing background apps is honestly a huge pain.
@@Xynic48 thats one of te reason i will never buy a xiaomi again. Also hyperOS is just miui with more lock screen customization, they didn't even bothered to change their outdated app icons
I just installed it. That's nice. But there's one major annoyance : the settings shortcut on top of the quick settings pannel is gone! It only appears on the old quick settings version.
Finally someone talks about the lags/stuttering Hyperos has. The AOD animations are the worst in this case, where nearly every single time I lock/unlock the phone it stutters for no reason.
I'm not expecting much either, but I do appreciate the attention towards improving overall performance and stability of the software. I love how it consumes so much less RAM, and I believe that they should push to actually update their older than 3 years devices to this new software because those phones with weaker hardware would greatly benefit from this revamp of the same Android software.
if you still don't receive any push notifications turn on USB debugging open mac windows or Linux and open terminal type adb devices if you see it's show your device adb shell settings put secure qs_media_resumption 0 paste this one your cmd or terminal
In the first 2 days with HyperOS I had a very fast battery drain, even in idle. Now in the 5th day it seems like it is better, it is going back to normal, I guess. I tested facebook and it drains almost the same amount of battery as MIUI 14. Battery used to drain every ~7,3-7,5 minutes on MIUI 14 At this moment it is draining every ~6,9-7,1 minutes Both scrolling on Facebook
They remove the one function on the side bar, where you can play youtube videos when you turn off the screen. It was really convenient when I play songs on youtube while doing my chores 😅
@@myuniverse6455 I'm not sure but. I have Poco X5 Pro 5G. Before updating my phone to Hyper OS, they have this function where you can turn off the phone while RU-vid plays on the background.
Another Great Video HO YOUNG WON I'm Wating the global launch to buy XIAOMI 14 Can you make a video about cameras in different places and lights effects, exposicion and night mode ?
Thank you so much for watching! I'll be posting a full review on the Xiaomi 14 going over those things, but you can also watch my previous Xiaomi 14 Real-World Test or Vlog Test to see a diverse set of test stills & videos including lowlight.
One thing I like about sidebar is that previously when you move the floating window to the side, it automatically minimize it. They changed it that you have to swipe it to minimize it
@@hoyoungwon To turn on extra dim go to Additional Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Menu > Turn on Accessibility Menu Then hold both volume buttons, this will open accessibility menu, there you will find extra dim option turning it on will also give you the option to add its toggle button in control panel
Since I upgraded to Hyperos, the peformance has slowed, I hope they can sort this issue out as I have really noticed this. Thought I was paranoid so I opened my old Poco F4, still on MIUI and its a stark difference.
Hello I'm using this phone Chinese variant but notifications issue is major. I'm using WhatsApp but call notification it's not showing when i open the WhatsApp then i show who's calling me. I hope Xiaomi fix it this major Problem otherwise phone is awesome
Also note on 60hz on RU-vid, my biggest annoyance as well lol but on latest update atleast on my Poco f5 pro, you can allow RU-vid to use the 120hz by going to settings>Display>Refresh Rate select custom and open Apps Using High Refresh Rate. My RU-vid now scrolls happily in 120hz 😅 It still automatically dials down to 60hz when screen is not touched maybe lower on ltpo panels.
Sidebar was already in MIUI 14, its not a HyperOS thing :) Im also missing automation tasks, which im using on MIUI to turn on/off cellular signal during the night, etc.
Please for help 😢 Where is setup of type transitions: when we're on main desktop-home... and we want to go right to see other folders and apps on second page... I think there are 3 or 4 possibilities (transitions)
As someone with a redmi note 10 i unlocked my bootloader lsst week, i was thinking of trying the community beta build of hyperOs, glad i went with pixelos
Hyper OS is fast and smooth, but the price for this is that it misses some smart features. Coming from OneUI, I really miss Modes and Routines as well as things like the Edge panel. There is something similar in HyperOS, but it is way behind and less intuitive. Automations are just not there at all, if not bedtime.
Looks 99% like miui. Agree that xiaomi really makes permission setting a nightmare. Especially those accessibilty permission. If you use macrodroid or tasker, dont buy a xiaomi.
Did you find installing google services easy? Planning to get the Xiaomi 14 in HK as well as it is cheaper. The same variant with global rom in my country is 200usd more expensive.
you don't need to install Google services, they already have built in Google services in the settings, you just need to enable them and then you can install and use almost all Google app
I'm so confused on this hyperos update. I see 1.0.1 on some device and some have either 1.0.2 or 1.0.3. Is each device getting all the these number changes or it's just one update? Which is which
Yea only the lock screen is different.... But even then mine doesn't have magazine option in lock screen.... Even home screen customisation didn't change from miui in the global version....😢
Man, just updated my note 13 pro to hyperos and it's annoying. I can't get my weather widget or my clock back on my start screen. And customising is a joke, only xiaomi stuff is available. Nothing gets accepted if I want to use a widget outside of xiaomi. I wish I never upgraded. Greetings from Netherland
you still can use other widget but they are hidden in search menu when you open the widget click the search button, and see at the bottom of the screen with Android widget
Does hyperOS has the function swipe up to google search like in the miui 14? This feature is disabled by default to allow swipe up to open app drawer. I usually turn this off and turn on google search instead because i google more then opening app drawer. I wonder if they remove this important feature to me?
with poco f5 and sometimes the refresh rates bugged to 30hz the only solution is to turn on and off the battery saver, which i don't even use it at all
After updating my Redmi Note 12 5G to Xiaomi HyperOS, the quality of my WhatsApp video call dropped. It's now very blurry and disgusting. How can I downgrade to MIUI 14? I have going back to the previous version will not cause more harm to my phone?
Hi. I have a question about the swipe up option. On the old os i had Google search on swipe up and now when i swipe up it open something called content center. Is there a way to change it back? Please help me.
I have it on my 11T Global Version, got the update back in December. It's there are some noticeable bugs, but they're fine with me. The only noticeable changes are lockscreen and control center. Feels really like MIUI 15, since it's the global version, I didn't get those fancy extra features I see on other version like Interconnectivity, Fluid Animations on app launch (idk why it didn't), no new camera interface and some other things I forgot lol. And no, it did not slow my phone after an update or have battery drain.
One thing I didn't like is that widgets. I'm using 2 apps they have own widgets, and I can't add them main screen. HyperOS has its own widgets, it doesn't allow me to add. Is there any solutions for that?
open widget menu first, then you need to click search button and they will show you options for android widget to add 3rd party widget at the bottom of the screen
I download the hyperos on my poco F5 but phone is consuming more RAM than miui 14 and lagging a lot while navigating interface(Phone is original bought from official MiStore)
That's weird, I have the F5 too, an official 8/256GB variant as I have verified from Xiaomi's website, and HyperOS has definitely felt smooth and strong for me, if not even faster and better than MIUI 14. If anything, HyperOS actually consumes so much less RAM for my case, in which I still have about 4 to 5 GB RAM free out of 8 GB, as compared to only 3.2 to 4 GB back in MIUI 14 for the same exact routine and set of apps.
I'm Samsung user for the past few years and recently switched to Xiaomi phone with HyperOS, tbh I prefer OneUI more than HyperOS in terms of customization & features, for the smoothness of UI I feel the same but HyperOS feel more fluid in terms of animation, but OneUI more responsive when you interact with the UI
@@justinmuca8842 good choice, I only will buy Xiaomi if I have a tight budget, if not then Samsung all the way, you will see the difference how polish/refined is OneUI compared to HyperOS if you use both of them regularly
Hello. My xiaomi 14 has a problem with overconsumption battery over the night. Apperantly, for 8h it spends about 20% battery. Battery settings says that 58% of that is used by Instagram and 29% by facebook. Any thoughts?
