I am amazed you don't have more views and comments on this series of videos. For a newcomer to hypertufa, they are invaluable. And the finished projects are just beautiful. I skipped here and there but mostly watched all thru to the end. Thank you for taking the time to share.

I saw another person used wood stain on her concrete pots. She said it works for several years, because it soaks into the cement.

I loved this entire series. You have inspired me to make my own hypertufa garden accessories. Your work is just stunning. The videos themselves were so informative. Your presentation style made it so much fun to watch. I know the videos were a lot of work but I really loved all four of them. Thank you so much for sharing your talents!

Well please share all your ideas with us..it’s people like you who take time to explain things that are so helpful.I have some old acid stain ,left over from a porch staining so I’m going to try it on a small pot to see if it’s still viable.You give me so many ideas👍❤️

Sue Knee, thank you! I know this video was long...too long, but I didn’t see the point in dividing it further just to accommodate people with short attention spans. Lol The stains do have a shelf life, but I’d give it a go. Maybe just leave it on for 24 hours and possible stain a second time. That second time you wouldn’t need to leave on any longer than two hours as all of the line would have reacted by then if your stain is still viable. 👍🏻

I just discovered your videos .I love them .Did you leach the containers before you used the acid stain.Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
@designsbyJ
@designsbyJ 4 года назад
Thanks! No, you shouldn't leach because the lime in the cement is what makes the reaction happen.

I wonder if you could soak a small pot in left over coffee and tea mix
@designsbyJ
@designsbyJ 4 года назад
alissabethla, I think it would fade over time if it stained it at all, but it’s worth a try. If it did stain it, applying a sealer or wax would protect it some from UV rays.
