How would you personally describe the audio with surround sound on vs off? Interested because it seems people either love or hate it - not much in-between.
I visited my local electronics store a few months back with the intention of buying the HyperX Cloud II but ended up with the BlackShark V2 because my main focus was comfort and sound quality. I'm totally happy with my purchase. EDIT: As far as sound quality you need to use the Razer software to fine tune to your liking.
Question: can you customize and fine tune in synapse app and save those settings, and then connect headset to Xbox will those settings remain or do you have to be connected to sound card?
wow i have both these headsets. I actually think the same as you in reverse. Razer V2 has cleaner more defined sound. Bass is more clear less muddy. Also interesting that you had no setting set in card on Mic and the audio is clearly much better on the V2. The Cloud 2 was way to tinnie way to much highs which cause listener fatigue on the listener side.. People with these types of mics always get turned down on my end in Discord and such. This was actually the reason i bought the V2 as got a lot of complaints in VC about my mic on Cloud 2. I would note until i got V2 Cloud 2 was my fav headset. Once i bought it the Cloud 2 has never left the cupboard.
You probably have the older cloud 2. Hyper x was bought by hp now they have worse cloud 2. Shame do u have the Kingston version? It’s written on the right side.
Had a chance to try them both today, Blackshark V2 was actually much more comfortable for my big (60cm / 24inches) head while Cloud II had to be stretched to the maximum height available, and it was still tighter on the top of my head than Blackshark V2, which was, like, only at 80% stretched. Still, Cloud II wasn't painful to wear and I think it could feel better over time.
@@Averageunlovable That's probably because I was using earbuds before and was not used to the pressure on the top of the head. Still, Blackshark V2 is bigger and can stretch more
Watched so many others headphone reviews, yours the best, and detailed one. You nailed it! Can you please advice what brand of good headphone for movies, music and gaming at the same price range? Mic is not important for me. You name it, I will BUY IT! trust you bro!
I appreciate it. Honestly, I'm on the quest for the perfect pair around $100 myself. Like you said something that is good for all 3. I ordered several more headphones that will be coming in later this month, so I don't want to give a recommendation until I've tested all of those as well.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews thanks bro. I'll wait for your next honest reviews on headphone before I get 1 myself. This is my first overear headphone so I don't wanna regret it.
@@0Ahmed0 I don't think there's a perfect pair. Pros and cons to all of them, but I think the Cloud Alpha is the best overall that I've tried. Cloud II best for FPS games. I'll test more in the future, but I think I have a decent sample size on the channel for now.
This is a great comparison video, I just want to ask you this, between hyper x cloud 2, black shark v2, and black shark v2 X, which is the best for gaming and mic? I trust you!!!!
Hyperx cloud 2 is WAY better built. Someone like me who has all of these headphones i can say with confidence that the hyperx cloud 2 is better for gaming and the mic is pretty decent. The razer blackshark v2 is very good too so you cannot make the wrong decision however long-term I think the hyperx is better
The best earphone for all pc games will be this headphone, earphone, Razer v2x, Logitech g333, Razer Hammerhead, HyperX Cloud Earbuds II under 4k. how to purchase sir
Planning to get one of these and figured the cloud 2 is the better choice. Although I’m able to get the razer for about 45$ and the cloud 2 and cloud alpha S for 80$. Considering the price difference what would you recommend?? Is the hyperx worth 2x the price?
Not sure what country you're in, but in US, you can find the Cloud II for $60 which is a great price. It's definitely much better than the BlackShark V2 though and I'd get the Cloud II easily.
Great video! Already watched 2 of your videos and I've gotta say that they are the best. I was thinking of buying the HyperX Cloud Alpha, after the review you made for the Cloud II, Alpha, and Alpha S, then I saw this video and was thinking of buying the BlackShark V2, but then I thought if it was possible to buy a Sound Card Adapter from Razer, like one from the Kraken or BlackShark V2, and use it to EQ the sound of the HyperX Alpha with Razer Synapse. Is that possible? And would it be a better option?
As of right now Razer doesn't sell their sound card by themselves but they might in the future. If you're looking to get the Alpha, I think the best option is to get free EQ software like Equalizer APO with PEACE extension. I don't really like recommending third party software, but it's actually pretty decent and there's a bunch of videos on it.
What a nice, straight to the point comparison. However, since the Razer Blackshark v2 is fantastic for bassy music genres such as edm, does that mean the Hyperx C2s are good for music genres like rock and metal?
great reviews. If im a mobile gamer(call of duty mobile)the razer blackshark v2 X or the hyper x cloud 2.I want the footstep to be accurate and loud,i dont want the gunshots and explosion to cover the footstep like the hyper x earbuds.Btw the razer blackshark v2 X is 50dollar,hyper x cloud 2 is 90 dollar.
Awesome video bro, keep it up you gained a subscriber here. What would you recommend me to get, I just bought my first Gaming Laptop I'll be playing COD games
I've just requested an RMA for my Kraken v3 hypersense, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with their software, mic quality and gain, sound quality and comfort, tbh nothing beats the kraken v2 7.1 i hope any of those are any near to it
I’m trying to decide between hyper cloud 2 and the v2/v2x on what’s best for directional movement on fps for ps4. I’m not sure if these are even the best so if they are which would you go with or do you have any other recommendations for what I’d like to get?
Great review! Looking to possibly buy or try another headset. I play mostly fps games on pc and currently using Astro A40 TR’s with mixamp. What headset would you recommend me using or trying? Not just out of these 2, but any headset recommendations you can point me to. Thanks for your time!
Out of all the headsets I bought, I definitely think the Cloud 2 is the best for FPS games. That said, I don't have the A40 yet - might get it in my next batch. I only got to try it on one of the display stations at Best Buy so I can't really say if the Cloud 2 beats out the A40 specifically since I haven't tested it extensively.
Hi everyone :) Have a quick question regarding the BlackShark V2s. I have a pair myself, and I just noticed that the rubber casing around the chord, where the chord meets the left headphone, wiggles quite a lot. Is this normal, or should this part of the build be more fast? Hope this makes sense, and that any fellow BlackShark V2 users could share their experiences. Thanks all :)
Which one would you recommend for a console? Specifically the Xbox series x. I’m thinking about getting the blackshark v2 but if only I can use the software and carry it to my Xbox. If not then ofc I’ll probably look into the cloud 2
what you recommend between cloud alpha and blackshark v2? im not a pc gamer, im a mobile gamer (pubg mobile) and i like to hear music with a high bass, so what's ur opinion?
Make sure your phone has either EQ settings or you have an EQ app and get the Cloud Alpha. Can't use Synapse on phone so Cloud Alpha will win in every category.
Hey nice vid ! I have the blackshark v2 but i'll change it for the epos gsp 602 and i dont want to spend too much money on a DAC so i wanted to use the blackshark v2 dongle to get access to razer synapse with my future headset. Can you tell me if it's possible or not ? It would savez le a lot of money. PS : What do you think about the epos gsp 600 series ?
I don't have the GSP 602, but the BlackShark V2 dongle works with any 3.5 mm headset so it will work. But you can also use SteelSeries Sonar or Equalizer APO if you want to skip the dongle. The GSP 600 has the same drivers as the PC38X, but with different tuning. Can't say more than that because I don't own the GSP 600 though.
Hello, very useful review. I want to buy a headphone for more viritual sound, you said in the video that the virtual performance of Cloud 2 is bad. Is Razer worth buying for virtual audio? I've never used virtual audio before and I'm wondering if it's really a worthwhile feature, will it improve my gaming performance? Will I get tired of the virtual sound in the future? I will use it mostly in fps-style games, but music performance is also important to me. How is the music quality in Cloud 2 compared to Razer?
It's just a gimmick that applies different types of audio filters to the sound. Not useful at all. Like I said in the video, the Cloud II has better drivers so it will be better for music. However, it doesn't come with EQ software so you have to download something else separately.
@@aahtitiya3972 I'm buying the Arctis 5 to test later this month so I can't say for sure until it comes in. But of the Cloud II and BlackShark V2, definitely the Cloud II is better but you need to install a third party EQ software to make it sound its best.
I own a hyperx alpha and was thinking of replacing them with the blackshark v2.I use eq Apo to boost bass and volume on the alphas. Is the soundcard more effective in boosting bass impact and volume on the headset compared to eq Apo?
Since you already use EQ software with the Alpha, the BlackShark V2 would be a downgrade to be honest. The Razer sound card doesn't really make it more effective for boosting the bass over Equalizer APO, but it does help it get a little louder.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews Apart from volume, are there any other drawbacks of using EQ Apo with the Alphas compared to the Blackshark V2 with native software?
Hey bro! I just bought the cloud II last night and I haven’t even open it because when I arrived home last night I saw the comparison between the alpha s and the cloud II and most of the videos says that alpha s has better sound quiality and now I don’t know if I should go to return the cloud2 and buy the alpha s or what, please help!. I really use it to play warzone and gta five m. Also I don’t know if I should pick the blacksharks 2
I've done a direct comparison between the Alpha and the Cloud II on this channel. I also play Warzone (not good at it), but my go to are the Cloud 2. I think it's the easiest to hear footsteps, and it's the most comfortable. If you're gonna be doing other stuff like playing music or playing other games the Alphas sound more accurate and a bit less harsh with high frequencies. Personally, I'd stick with the Cloud II for Warzone and get a free EQ like PEACE and change the sound profile when you're using them for something else. Plus with an EQ you can totally skip the BlackSharks cause the Razer Synapse EQ is the only advantage it has over the Cloud II.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews other games that I play are cs go, gta , crossfire so I don’t know which is better, the advantage I saw on the alpha s is the detachable cable so what you think? Which you would pick if it was for your personal use on the games and things you do? Thank you!
I have a current hyper x cloud 2 but mic is really my problem. So im thinking to buy the cheaper Razer blackshark v2 x and use hyper x sound card . Will surround sound work with that ?
Yeah it will work - it just applies the same filter to any headset you put in it. However, getting a dedicated mic would be a better choice, because you're still gonna have bad mic quality after all that.
If i understand this right you think that cloud 2 win overall without any softwares. Now if i have another EQ like EQ APO would that make cloud 2 better than blackshark v2 with razer synapse or does razer's software add more features?
I play on a laptop with two usb slots one for my keyboard and one for my mouse, so I probably can’t maximize the sound cards so without EQ and considering the design and mic what is overall better?
Wasn't really the case for me. I tried messing the EQ, and all the different filter settings. The BlackShark V2 X (cheaper version) mic actually sounded better than the V2 because it doesn't have to go through the USB sound card.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews try these settings: mic boost, voice gate and volume normalization on, everything else off, and then use the broadcast preset. i use it and it honestly sounds pretty good
