Any tips or strategy for the farmers carry. I have signed up for an event in the UK in October. Starting to notice am really finding this exercise tough. Any strategies or ideas would be appreciated. I enjoyed your video

While taxing on grip, this can also challenge core stability and leg strength. I’d encourage becoming proficient at deadlift over the long term while doing dead hangs and flexed arm hang on a pull up bar and then also continued Farmer’s Carry for near-term improvement. There are plenty of ways to improve grip strength and Farmer Carry ability, that’s a great start point.

Great question. Easy answer is to "start building mileage". Low-resolution, "Zone 2" type of mileage for up to 80% of your run training, with the other 20% targeting speed with various intervals and distance takedowns.
