I always found the zora story the most sad, the other champions were fallen warriors. Mipha was a slain sister, her family and people still remember what it was like when she was there. They constantly live with the memory of her loss. Now sidon has to live with the fact that even though he saved mipha, his sister is still gone. He cannot change what happened in his time.
@Raven Link Even if she does, it's a moot point. Her survival (and the other champions' survival and Ganon's early defeat) has created a new timeline separate from the future Sidon came from. Any knowledge of the future would be useless at that point.
But she told him that she was proud of the zora he had become and I think he needed to hear that. He also had more time with her and got to fight at her side. He'd be sad, sure, but I don't think he'd trade that experience for anything.
The animation was so good. He looks so happy and proud when she said she is so proud of the zora he became and then he remembered that she died in his timeline and he looked away so sadly. 😭
Our Sidon gets to save Mipha like he wanted all those years ago but in the end has to go back to his time. His Mipha is still gone. Its sad but true. But now in that timeline that sidon will get all the things our sidon never had. A childhood growing up with his sister. Playing, laughing, getting scolded at, crying everything. He loses his sister twice but gives baby sidon everything in a way. Our Sidon will go back and at least know he did save her and she is alive in a different time line.
Sidon in this timeline will grow up very self-assured (and maybe just slightly spoiled in a charming way). He won't have to worry much about the pressures of being King, as his sister was and is supposed to be the future Queen. Sidon was the Spare after the Heir, after all. Mipha saw right through the adult Sidon as much as she did his baby counterpart. Truly a deep connection, as I don't see a mother around. It would do Sidon VERY well to not try and continually measure up to her. It was very clear also in BotW that he had severe self-esteem and self-deprecation issues because of how much everyone talked about his very perfect sister, and in his memories, he held her on the highest pedestal and wanted to be like her in every way. How could he measure up to that, in his mind? Going back to the future, I foresee things getting worse for him before they get better. He held a LOT of emotion back in his trip to the future. His "boundless optimism" and "winning smile" are real, but also facades. The optimism works great on the battlefield, and the winning smile in front of his adoring fanclub, but I didn't see anyone among the Zora able to see past it (except Link 'cause he's sneaky), and the person who eventually sees past it some day is the only one who can connect with a guy like Sidon. Also, Sidon. Stop hero-worshipping those you do admire. Dammit you dig yourself further when you do.
@@ZeoViolet thats what you do on the internet. You blather away. The legend of Zelda is a series near and dear to my heart. I am a sucker for a good story and family stories hit me hard. Some times you find trolls on the internet. Others you just find people like me.
Sidon really looked up to his sister growing up as he literally tried to take on the Lynel with a spear just like Mipha did so I can only imagine how he took the news when he found out Mipha got killed. And also the scene around 4:21 literally breaks my heart as he’s trying his hardest not to cry....I even noticed his lip quivered a bit at the end and his smile seems a bit forced as they say their final goodbyes. 💔
Now I’m just imagining King Dorephan holding Sidon in his hand as they both weep and grieve after hearing the news. And the worst part is, they probably all saw Vah Ruta get corrupted and felt helpless because they couldn’t do anything.
@@goblin_tin2536 I think Mipha was around 100 years old but she was just really short. You also have to take into consideration that Sidon is a Zora prince, and he’s eventually gonna be the size of king Dorephan.
She got to see the kind of Zora he'd grow up to be without her... and she told him she was proud. I feel like he needed to hear that from her at the very least even if she's gone in his timeline. Hyrule warrior games are usually not canon but I hope this one is if at least for Sidon to canonically hear how she was so proud of him.
Es canon clase B(es decir que sigue la misma cronología pero de un modo diferente) Porque esta basada en todos los eventos de breat of the wild 100 años en el pasado
I just realized that Sidon looked away when Mipha said she was proud of who he has become because he didn't want to start crying/didn't want her to see him cry, my god *T T*
Sidon is by far my favorite character. Am I simp? Perhaps. But also, his story is so sad. He knew his sister and him having to say goodbye to her again is so sad to watch and see. I just wish that the effects of this story would bring back the champions in the other.. but we know that doesn’t happen.
You missed the little part where Sidon explains how Terrako guided him there ;D thanks for this compilation! Sidon is such a good character asdsadsadsd
Playing AoC just makes me want to replay BotW again, which I did. Had it been me who has to face the fact that my sister died protecting our home and that I have to live with it for decades, I would’ve went with her. Sidon is no ordinary Zora, he knew what needs to be done, and how it needs to be done, he knew that no matter Mipha wouldn’t want to see him dwell on herself, so he kept the smile for a century, always seeking an opportunity to avenge for Mipha, just like how Mipha waited for Link no matter the time. That’s a heart that cannot be told otherwise
No seriously you ain’t kidding! Seeing as how both mipha and Sidon are fully grown, she is a child size compared to Sidon! And yet he’s the youngest, it’s hard to remember that sometimes when you see the massive size difference along with there tone of voice…miphas is sweet and soft, while Sidon is triumphant, and smooth…
Looking this over again, does anyone agree with me (or not) that perhaps Sidon needed juuuuust a _little_ bit more of a scolding before she praised his bravery? It's fairly clear he idolizes her and wants to be just like her, but heedless smol child is heedless.
Honestly, he was already scared and upset. He didn't need anymore reason to be upset and I think Mipha realized that and decided 'You know what, I need him to smile right now because he nearly died and the last thing I should do is make it worse by yelling at him.' That's the way I read the situation. Yes, tell him not to go off fighting monsters as a little baby zora but there was no need to make him feel worse than he already did. He went through enough.
AoC: Young Sidon's pretty cute, isn't he? Me: Yeah AoC, a few chapters later: How about another? This time it's his adult self from BOTW Me: Heck yeah! AoC: And he dual wields Me: AWESOME!
"We will meet again dear brother." You can see the moment Sidon's heart break. He did not have the heart to tell her that she perished during the Calamity's arrival on the original timeline. 😢
Lemme tell ya something, Baby Sidon would have WIPED OUT EVERY SINGLE MONSTER IN AGE OF CALAMITY! The problem is, everyone always ruins the moment, so he can never get himself the kill.
It's a cultural thing. In the JP version he probably called her the equivalent word of sister/big sister, because younger siblings are always expected to refer to their older siblings by relation instead of name.
Bro..The story between mipha and Sidon in so sad. *Spoilers* After you beat calamity ganon Sidon and everyone else are sent back to where the champions are all dead. He has to return to a Miphaless world And back then when mipha died Her brother was still small and so very weak and all he wanted was to be strong like his sister.and now look at him- he’s so big and strong(and still adorable)but he must’ve felt so empty not knowing if his sister was proud of him or not- and when Mipha said “I’m so proud of the Zora you became” I’m pretty sure it hit us as deep as it did to Sidon. Like- I can’t describe what Sidon was feeling but it must’ve been so many emotions at once because of his subtle yet such expressive reaction to her saying that. Like damn😭I thought Nintendo ninjas were scary- no- the amount of emotions I felt during that one scene was. Edit: On the bright side-Sidon gets to see his sister one last time and gets to hear the words he so longed to hear but mipha gets to live on with her little brother and that Sidon doesn’t have to go through that pain all over again
As sad as this is, I think Sidon will be able to fully heal with this trip, he not only saved his sister, something he probably blamed himself for, but knows that somewhere out there, she is safe, happy, and another version of him has grown up with a loving sister, and a reinforced drive to keep said sister safe
Zora spears are quite lightweight, but strong due to the special metal made in their construction, and they’re in Zora’s Domain. Those things are easy to get ahold of.
Does anyone actually know if the timeline they return to changes due to their actions here? Would be rather nice for Sidon et al to get a very pleasant surprise. (I’d be quite happy with Revali staying dead though, since Teba like everyone else, thinks he a jerk)
I think we can all agree we love the shark and the zora family lol. though love how Sidon is like a giant compared to Mipha. I get that they or at least the royal family I'd imagine on the male side will probably grow large but my goodness that over towers everyone lol. though gonna guess that BOTW is literally the bad alternative timeline where all the champions are dead. so it would be age of calamity is the side branch of the good ending and sadly BOTW and TOTK is the everyone fckn died timeline :/
I set my default mode to very hard and continued the game in the full one and it was so hard and I forgot I put the default mode on very hard and completed half the game on very hard haha I hat my life
