Hyundai is having a go at the booming compact SUV segment with the Creta and if the initial bookings are anything to go by, then they seem to have another winner on their hands. Jammy finds out if the Creta is really as good as it looks though.

I just cant understand why people are complaining so much about the creta. Have you guys driven the car? Most probably not. As an owner this is one of the best cars you can buy in this segment. Who told this is an i20 or a verna with wrestlers cloths? It has great performance and incredible refinement, comfortable ride and good handling unlike the verna or any other hyundai vehicles. It might not be as confident inspiring to drive as the duster but it comes really close. Overall a better package than its competition.

Hi Sir...I need to ask you one thing before taking crucial & important decision of my life...Which car should I prefer to go with?.....CRETA or Honda CITY??? I don't have anything too specific regarding to go for SUV or Sedan....bt I am unable to decide by myself that which 1 is best as price range for both these cars are almost the same.....So plzzz help me in taking a decision....Waiting eagerly for your response...

Creta hides its flaws behind a sexy body and ample of features. The soul of the car is Performance, Ride Comfort and Efficiency !! It looses out to Duster/Terrano on that front Hands Down !! Waiting for Honda's version in this segment ! They are always late to party, but they make sure everyone has a good time.

That is the enthusiast in youb talking, while practically this is what the mass market wants! A good looking car(C-SUV) which is easier to drive in traffic, park and also has enough ground clearance for the rough roads. But I agreed with the fact that it is priced higher than what it should be and hence looses the VFM tag, Hyundai is also going the duster way by making money in a relatively new segment.

As an ownner of hyundai creta 1.6 sx(o) diesel it feels much better than the duster terrano and ecosport when it comes to engine performance, refinement, built quality, and safety. Sure ride and handling may not be as polished as the duster, terrano etc but it is definity not BAD AT ALL!! Infact it feels more enjoyable to drive and live with. So before you criticise about other cars please experience your self. HYUNDAI HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS WHEN IT COMES TO RIDE AND HANDING.

XUV has 2.2 litre 4 cylinder engine. not 2.5 litre. thar has got a 2.5 litre engine.

Creta has created its own class. I don't think it compares to duster and ecosport. As this feels more premium and different. It also has an automatic gearbox. So its more likely comparable to Q3 or GLA. But cheaper than those as its hyundai.

If you want a luxury compact SUV, creta is for you. Otherwise XUV 500 is your best bet in terms of features and value for money.

Anson Thomas XUV will cost couple of lakhs extra i guess. Plus Hyundai brand is arguably higher than mahindra

bannajirocks The top end xuv 500 W10 costs just 1 lakh more and you get lots of features. For the price of top end 1.6 Creta you can get a W8 variant which again has more features then creta, also it can seat 7 to 8ppl. Suggesting Hyundai is higher than Mahindra doesn't make any sense. Mahindra is the king of SUV's in India. You can also get a top end Scorpio for 12lakhs which again has more features and practicality than Creta.

Anson Thomas bro! please give me the address of that dealer from where i can get XUV wid a difference of just 1 lakh ..... in my city XUV W10 costs 18lakhs nd creta costs 13 lakhs. either you skipped maths class or i was sleeping during the lectures

xuv first gen had issues where electronics would go off everytime car passes over speed breakers/bumps. you wash car and water screws up the power windows until it is evoperated. not certainly an issue with cars like honda /hyundai

Duster is a better handler only downsides are little less on space and also the old fashioned interior. Other than it is a good reliable car.
