What do you think makes the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N stand out more - its high-performance "hot hatch" specs or its versatility as a family-friendly vehicle? Share your thoughts!
I've been in the hybrid camp for almost 15 years now, never really committed to an electric car, but this looks really promising. If I have the facility to charge at home and in my favourite spots, and the queue is never too long, this then becomes a really strong proposition. I particularly like the endurance aspect of it, and that it behaves and sounds exactly like a conventional ICE minus the CVT, don't really like those CVTs (one of my hybrids has one, the PHEV does not). Electric cars always felt like driving a torquey CVT but with an electric whine instead of an ICE whine. This one is perfect!
What makes the Ioniq 5N stands out is it's battery extensive thermal management, the car can perform longtime in high performance conditions without overheating. Nice review, greetings from Belgium. Ecotronic grey Ioniq 5N owner.
This is the only electric car I like the look of and probably would consider buy . Thick pins in my eyes. Love Vicky ,will never stop watching her.👍🏼👏🏻
So many people are so hung up on what this car is classified as, hot hatch, SUV… blah blah. Who cares. Haters are gonna hate. It’s an amazing motor car, smokes Lambos, caries a family, can be whisper quiet if need be, can make you smile like not much else. It’s awesome! Don’t knock it till you test drive one. It’s a wonderful step on the evolution ladder of the motor car. 😉
Love mine. I knew of it coming, and I could use the space for sure, but had completely dismissed it on the weight which I detest on ICE cars. But then I saw a review made on very twisty small roads and it looked oddly like the car actually thrived. Booked test drive... Yes it really does shrink to a playful hot hatch, and enthusiasts can really feel this car was developed by people that love driving - and it really performs on track too because of this. And it also does the numbers, too many dragraces already on yt... Irl kept up effortlessly with a Panamera Turbo S three times the price today on the 'autobahn'. That it also can do effortless comfy EV at the press of one real button, and roomy and very practical family car just adds injury to insult. As a performance car and allround usable car, it's really a bargain and such a wonderful antidote to the buttonless soulless modern EV....
This hot hatch will convince die-hard gear heads that the EV transition really is a move in the right direction, without losing the thrill of the racetrack and drag racing. Your smile said it all, Vicki! Me? I am more than content with my modest Ioniq 5, as I do not lust for speed, just getting me from point A to point B in quiet, efficient comfort. Keep those smiles coming!
I'm watching this not just because I'd love an Ioniq 5 N, but because it's a VBH review of the Ioniq 5 N... you know you're going to be in for a great balance of informative reviewing with "eeeeeee!" enthusiasm.
Saw my local dealership had one in, and I got to take it for a short test drive. I'm glad the police wasn't around, cause I would have lost my license and got thrown into jail several times in the hour or so I drove it. It's just SO fun.
Hiya Vicki, one answer you didn't give the viewer is how many miles do you get to a full charge, I guess not a lot if you're a petrolhead like me lol, good to see you back, loved your content on 5th gear, and the banter you had with the boys, also Jason Plato is my favourite touring car driver, and I've watched him since the 90s when I 1st got into BTCC, I look forward to seeing your next video
This car ,, Just like Vicky,,, is absolutely awesome and addictive. I would love one of these cars. I will Probably never own one in my lifetime. Just love her enthusiasm and fun. I thought my partner was crazy until I started watching this woman behind the wheel of a car. Especially something like this. Well done. Great video. Love it.😄👍☺️
I am about to get rid of a couple of old cars and loan myself some cash from my 401K to get one of these. Want a white one. First mods will be different wheels, even sticker tires and delete the orange stripe around the bottom of the car. Vickie I did not know you had a channel....SUBSCRIBED!
I watched Chris Hills review and he made me laugh so hard at the end of his video when he mentioned just when you thought all BEVs was terrible at doing what ICE vehicles have done brilliantly this comes along and gets you! Epic review from you too! The Awards are piling up for the Koreans! Cheers
You have been on the seen forever, remember u years back doing the Civic type r. You love your cars Vicki, like your new channel x Ps. Still hot stuff...
Thorough and excellent from VBH. I cannot help but wonder at the distraction of the information display - I mean really?! There was a time when all you needed was One volume knob to grope for. My life span would be seriously shortened by all that tech.
Badge snobbery is dead. You pay 110k for an RS6 and 90k for an M3 these days and the German quality ain’t what it was. This is not Hyundai of 20 years ago.
Ive always thought then exterior of the Ioniq 5 looked great. Very futuristic and premium. And then the insise looks like what your kid would sit in outside a shop for £1 and laugh while it rocks back and forth.
I like the sound tec but it could be made so much better if they use surround sound so you can hear the exhaust coming from the rear and engine at the front, it needs more bass too lol so you can feel it😂
That should do a sound setting where Vicky is giggling. I like this car. At least it's done something different, but that infotainment without buttons is silly and dangerous. They need physical buttons and I wonder how long those batteries will last being booted everywhere?
Always loved VBH , never seen anyone else getting that school girl charm across . As a 70's kid , i cant help but wonder why anyone needs 650 HP cars ? As this would have been the power output of an F1 car back then .
So the only way an electric car can have a soul is if it replicates an ice car? Maybe manufacturers should concentrate on designing an EV with it's own soul without having to mimic something it will never be. I actually thought that the soundtrack was a joke at the start of the video but to find out that it's been intentionally added into the car? WTAF! 😮😢
'Does this 650HP EV Redefine the Hot Hatch?' NEVER in a million years. The best years in hot hatches are sadly now behind us. EVs will never leave the same legacy. I can categorically say that if I had a choice of Hyundai Ioniq 5 N or a Golf GTI, Renault 5 Turbo etc, I would pick the latter all day long.
can't wait till all the boy racers flying around in already fast hot hatches get a hold of these even faster beasts! think they might be a lot more accidents
Interesting tech, but would the novelty of the pseudo gear changes and engine noise options just be a gimmick that after awhile gets switched off and only put on again to impress your friends ? ( like Tesla fart noises and light shows ) . That said I like it as a car, just not the price. Maybe in 3 years second hand when depreciated . Will it's second hand price hold up better than most EVs ? time will tell.
Two and a quarter tons? It's a very powerful very fast whatever, not a hot hatch. Not that that will stop anyone from buying it if they're so inclined.
Its a shame that Hyundai dealers are being so precious with test drives...I even had one offer to 'allow me to sit in the Ioniq 5N...and then we could discuss the purchase...'!!
@@MOTOMAD555 What location are you, as the 2 closest to me are precious, and have intimated so due to the hype around the car. I too buy cars once I have test driven them, and wanted a performance EV to follow up after my M4 and MYP, hence wanted to test drive
This car is sick $67k u spent more and got way less before $40k Kona plug-in is bargain as well They all struggle to compete with Hyundai Future is hybrid
I absolutely love this car. It's all the things you see/ hear & on a plethora of other such channels. But...........£65k? It is going to plummet in value, like most/ every EV out there - regardless of how good it is. I've done man maths back & forth, believe me. Unless you're prepared to wait 3 years (I ain't), you're gonna suffer serious wedge loss (and I could finance the car through my company). And, as much as I sooooooo want this car, I can't bring myself to pull the plug. In three years, the balloon payment is around 30k. Sod that.
@@HedgeCCL Looking for excuses not to do it. Ignoring the negatives of ICE vehicles and there are many. You’re only here once, enjoy yourself. If you have a company then leaseloco is an option worth looking at. You can get tax breaks on your lease.
How is messing about with that screen scrolling through 100000000 options any better or legal than using a phone??? When will it be policed the same. Horrible colour on a great car also
