I own this exact car (in black) and have put about 5,000 miles on it. Your review matches my experience. It just drives so damn well and is so quiet. It does what you want a vehicle to do. And thank you for not wasting time on superfluous BS that shouldn't really be part of deciding on a cars suitability. I am subscribing but now that I have an EV I will never buy an ICE so I will only be watching EV reviews.

Welcome aboard! Thanks for the comment! It's nice knowing that I got it right from someone that owns the car and has had a lot more time with it. And I'm glad you appreciated the information I chose. It's tough trying to figure out just how detailed to get, and I try to stick with stuff that I would be looking at if I were buying. It's tough getting good feedback to figure out if I'm heading in the right direction or need to pivot, so I really do appreciate the comment.

Thank you for the video...good honest review! We went from a Kona EV (which we put 48,000km on in 10 months with 0 issues) to a 2022 Ioniq5 AWD Ultimate trim. We loved the Kona but man o man we LOVE the I5. We put on over 1000km a week on average and the I5 never disapoints us! We have a 14,000km road trip coming up in October around North Ameroca and we are super excited. Wife and I are heading out for lunch today at a little diner - about 400km away! 😅 Thanks for doing the review. Mile

I'd be curious to know how your trip goes in October & how the Ioniq 5 does & how your charging experiences go. Finding stations through the Ioniq, whether they are working or not etc. This has been one of my concerns & why I've been reluctant to go through with a purchase. I know that the stations with certain charging companies have been expanding quite a bit & the Ioniq's are selling like crazy. Hope you have a great trip & a great time. 🙂

@Larry-vw3fp Hi...yeah we are really looking forward to it. When we had the Kona we traveled pretty extensively and did a couple 4500km road trips and did not have an issue charging. Other than the Kona being a pretty slow charging car by design (maximum 77kw) it did just fine and we never felt range anxiety or experienced any major charging challenges. Granted, I am a planner by nature and always made sure to have a Plan B or C when organizing one of our trips. The wife basically sets the agenda and I work out the charging stops along the way. Without a doubt the charging infrastructure needs improvement but it will come. At the present time EV adoption is still on an uphill slog until charging is something that you do as a 2nd thought and not as a primary function as at present! Pretty confident the Ioniq 5 will do just fine and we have some areas of our trip when we get away from the Interstates and big cities that we will have a few challenges to overcome but no big deal! Have a great day! Mike 🇨🇦 🍁

Just a note, in the USA the front trunk is also small in the rear wheel drive models due to safety regulations for kids getting trapped in a space that is over a certain size. They would have had to put an emergency release tab inside the larger front trunk that other markets get. Got the 2024 limited, love it so far.

Oooh, interesting. I appreciate that info! Something I'll have to look out for on future EVs. Glad you're loving yours! Congrats on the car!

Does it have a rear wiper?

It does not. A very strange omission by Hyundai. It could definitely use one!

Hey brother! I commented on your video saying you inspire me to start a RU-vid channel couple of months ago. I finally got courage to just go ahead and start. It goes with name “AbiCarZ” . Great video btw. Keep up the good work.

@@abiralkhatiwada6839 for sure! I'll check out some videos in a little bit. One thing I'd say right off the bat is that the thumbnails are kind of hard to read. There's a lot of text and the red on those backgrounds is kind of tough to see. I'd keep it to just a few words if you can. The "best midsize truck" is easy to read with the white outline on the lettering though. But then the word "truck" gets cutoff because RU-vid puts the time stamp over it.

Nice! Those new thumbnails are much easier to read! Definitely keep experimenting and see what works best for click through rates, but definitely much cleaner the way you have them now. I think you're off to a great start! The toughest part is just picking up the camera and getting going. Now it's just figuring out what people are interested in and what you're interested in. I think a lot of times instead of saying "this is what X looks like" you can just say something about it. And give your opinions and talk about space and how things work and such. Like the back seats for the Tacoma, instead of just saying they're cloth and this is how they look, talk about whether or not they're comfortable and how much space there is. Are they good for tall adults or is it just enough space for kids or dogs? For the Ridgeline, I don't think it was necessary to go through all of the gears. It's pretty standard and they're all just in a straight line. If you want to mention that it has a low gear, that's helpful sure, but I don't think you need to go through all of the gears. For the driving portion, you can talk more about the ride quality and the steering and how things feel to drive. Are the safety systems intrusive? Can you feel all of the bumps and is it harsh? Things like that. Take this all with a grain of salt. I'm no professional here. I'm just another small RU-vidr trying to make it, but I think as you do more videos and get more and more comfortable and find what works and what doesn't it will only get better and better. Best of luck! I'm pulling for you!
