My Ioniq 6 AWD 20 inch wheels, in Australia, 27deg c, aircon on, 100kph : 16.1 kWh/100km, around 459 km, 285 miles.

RWD version would do probably about 50km more at least, this is one impressive car.

Great test as always!! I am not sure you can get the 18" wheels in NA stock AWD. Good result for 120kmh/75mph as "most" tests are 113/70 which would probably give you 10% better range. Look forward to a test of the RWD!

Very nice, the i4 40 had 18.4 kWh/100 km in Teslabjørns 120 km/h test, so those are all efficient cars.

Pretty good result, looking to see how the ID.7 compares to this as they are to two newer cars to arrive this year that are not luxury cars.

Great results, I was trying to find some Model 3 results on the charts, but either it is too bad or you haven’t tested any. 🤔

Moved from a Polestar 2 to Ionic 5. Much more efficient, but all the beeping and invasive messaging is a nightmare!

Why do u say on the video battery usage 100%>51% (also seen at the beginning of charging) so 49% used for the trip, but your chart at the end shows totally different values?

You are correct! That's an error in the chart!

One thing I think would be good though for your consumption figures - could we have range per $ please as a metric with the lowest being the best? Having massively expensive cars with huge batteries at the top of a table doesn’t really say anything - anyone can have bigger batteries if the price is high. Better to say a car has 400km range and costs $60,000 so has a price / range ratio of 150 against a car that is $100,000 with a 500km range so has a ratio of 200. The lower the score the better it is. Of course there are price variations globally but it’s a better indication than absolute range (as is efficiency).

You got 213,6 km with 51% left, so why are the total range shorter then 400 km?
@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa Год назад
Because SOC is not linear and cannot be used to accurately calculate range.

Great little car but small batt so smaller and lighter car so better efficiency but less range and and slooooow charging

@@michaelcollier8768 Yeah the small battery is obselete in the age of expensive public charging. But because it is so efficient and the fact it can do 70kW charging. It adds range faster than any other car at. Standard rapid charger. The Kona is now the range beast. But that has slooow charging. It starts at 39kW and slowly ramps up to 47kW. A recent software update has sped things up on a 350kW charger, you get 60 odd kW.

The range tests are meanless, unless these YTers use the 1 trim / that has the 360+ range; SE rwd... but they are all so obsessed with driving the higher trims for these videos.

LOL! We have very different styles of video and do our tests in different ways with a focus on different things. Are you saying that every RU-vidr who does range tests is just a copy of Bjørn? 🙈 You do know car tests existed before Bjørn right?

@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa Год назад
@@teslabot6517 how can you say I am a copy when you are now admitting you don't actually know how we differ. Kind of invalidates your whole argument 🙈🤣 As I said, our style of shooting, our style of editing, how we test and what we emphasise is different. Sure we both do Range tests and our own versions of a Long Trip Test, but other than that we share very few video formats. I do an in-depth review on every car I test in a certain style and have been doing than longer than Bjørn. Does that mean Bjørn is copying me? No. Bjørn has also been driving EVs down to 0% as a new video format on his channel. This is something I started with almost three years ago, does that mean Bjørn is copy of me? No. I also do road trip videos and have also been doing that for like seven years. We both test EVs, and of course there is going to be some overlap - for example there is only a certain way you can do a range test. One of my most popular formats here on the channel is news on new EVs, that is not something I have seen Bjørn doing. So calling be a copy of Bjørn just shows that you have no idea of what you are talking about matey 🤣
