We have owned the new kona N line s EV since march 2024. We went N line s (same price as the ultimate).as it gets lots of red stitching and bits to uplift the interior including leather and alcantara seats. I have the steering wheel favourite button set to go to driver aids, so in 10 seconds I can turn speed warning and forward alert turned off, a long press of the lane assist button on the steering wheel ,turns it orange and off. Over 1700 miles we have averaged 4.5miles per kilowatt. Car always starts in normal mode (a turn of the mode button to the left puts it in eco mode. We use the frunk for cables . If you floor it you can feel the front wheels having to deal with torque steer up to about 30mph.(this model has less torque than the last generation to help this. HUD is very good (which is a good thing because at my height (6ft 5") the steering wheel blocks the speedo up to 40mph. For options there is (on the n line s) the sunroof, a black roof and comfort seats (2 memory settings and a " comfort " position for charging (it tilts and a little leg support pops up, the ability to move the back and forwards while outside the car using the key. We were offered the 17" alloys, but felt the N line s needs 19" Hurts range a little but we have seen 334 miles claimed range on a full charge last week. The max regen brings the car to a complete stop and is truely 1 pedal bar emergency braking.
I also have the N Line S EV since March 2024. Unfortunately, I hit a small deer in June. Since then, the car has been off the road awaiting a new front bumper from Hyundai. Apparently it takes several months for Hyundai to get the parts in.
@@bhav213 regen is controlled by the + and - paddles behind the steering wheel. I always have it in " i pedal" which is max regen and genuine 1 pedal driving.
Having tested both the new Kona EV and the Ioniq 5 after each other, I was surprised to find the Kona was much smoother and more comfortable. As the owner of the second-gen, facelift, previous Kona EV Ultimate, I was disappointed that the new Ultimate doesn't have as much kit as the old one and you need to spec up. The bings and bongs were a nightmare! I am now waiting for a new Scenic eTech to be received. Can't wait!
Can you get a full size spare wheel in the wheel well below the boot floor, it would be a real winner if you could in this day and age of 50mph bicycle tyre spares.
Excellent review, just discovered your channel and subscribed, thanks. Considering the Kona ev, got a model y which is on lease and a great car but the ride quality is awful, your review covers what people need to know.
Excellent review, one point only, you get the 300+ miles only with the 17 inch wheels (that is why they are offered for free as an option) otherwise you get 280 miles as per Hyundai. So getting 260 out of the advertised 280 is not bad at all.
A lovely down to earth review. You have a very good style and cover items that are sometimes overlooked by others. I can’t be sure if I have seen earlier reviews but I am happy to subscribe and look forward to others after seeing this one. You have almost sold me on a Kona. Could you cover what items you can and can't turn off that make all the noises these days.
