Great product! Our 2019 Kona SEL has no access panel under the passenger dash so installation was even easier than the video. The remote start works perfectly. It's important to pause between the two clicks when you start the car or it won't work. Also, be aware the automatic door lock / unlock feature is enabled or at least ours was. If you don't want that feature you have to disable it by sitting in the drivers seat, doors closed / locked with the ignition button "on". Put your foot on the brake and click the door lock button on the remote two times.
Hey, I have a Hyundai Kona 2018 model middle package has a good amount of toys but no push start, do I need to have the push start before I install this system or what would you suggest? Thanks
Hi Lucas, thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately start button is necessary option to install our system, since it is directly connecting to smartkey module.
Interesting. I just bought 2020 Hyundai Kona SEL with push to start. The installation is very simple and very close to Fortin that I installed on my LEXUS and Honda Pilot. I looked under driver kick panel and did not see those connectors. Are they located on the driver side or on the passenger side? I go it. It's on the passenger side. I will check it out tomorrow. I am very interesting if it works like the way it is on this video. The Fortin kit, the the engine will shutdown when the door is opened and your kit is not. Another question, Does your kit come with the hood pin or ON/OFF switch for safety? I just want to make sure that it can not be remote started while working on the car.
@@MykeyPremium I still have a question. How do you temporary disable the remote start? I don’t want to accidentally remote start while working on the car.
Job well done, I am very impress, I always wanted that feature in my vehicle. mykey premium remote start, I am interested in buying this for my 2020 Hyundai Kona AWD. Please send me the information on how I can get this for my Kona. Thank you
What are the safety functions? Let’s say someone brakes the window and gets in the car. Can they take it without the key fob?? Or would the car turn off once they press on the brake
I have a question before I order this...the wiring seems easy and straightforward but when all is said and done, where do we tuck the wires and box...doesn't seem like a lot of room. Anybody got pics?
Prior to installing this, should the battery be disconnected? Also on the website it mentions a metal bracket that is blocking the can bus system. Do you have a description of what exactly needs to be modified or removed in order to install this system?
This video don't show you that the wire plug on the kona are protected and can't be removed easily. I buy this and now I stuck . Can't remove the plugs because a metal frame protecting them.
My 2021 Kona SEL does not have a kick panel under the glove compartment like the one in the video. There are no latches to release the partially exposed kick panel. I just see some metal hardware. Is that what is holding it place? If so, I don't have any tools. & I dont know anyone who can help me with this alleged easy, no tool installation.
