How to test the charging system, battery light, voltage drop, alternator regulator. How to remove and install a new alternator.
This video covers 2006-2011 Hyundai Accent all models.
Update:
I tried to reuse the oil filter and it leaked over a week. Please put a new one on. Seems once the seal is used on the oil filter trying to reuse it will not seal properly. So put a new one on.
Please watch the 3 part belt installation series as some needed close-up in these videos may assist you when torquing bolts, connecting wire harness to items deep in the engine bay. Belt tension is not covered in this video so watch those other videos to get the proper info. Explanation of the excite resistor in detail is located in this article at Hyundai Forums. Please note some bolts have a number stamped on top which could effect torque. Here's a post from a user who had this issue: So, all that said, it looks like 2006's (at least mine) shipped with a grade 4 bolt installed in the tension lock position. IKB, it might be worth mentioning this in your video, just in case. I'd for someone else to run into the same problem I did as the head on that bolt is easily seen and I wouldn't have even considered that it might not be a grade 8 like the others.

Hi good video sir! I have an 01 Hyundai that’s doin some weird stuff and someone before me put an alternator on it and it charges at 13.8 and with some load at idle it goes 13.6 and sometimes drops lower here and there should I replace the alternator? My battery stays at 12.4

I have a 2004 accent. I had a dead battery I replaced. Soon after I started getting a buzzing from a relay. Replaced relay 2 times and it still buzzes. Alternator on volt meter shows 13.9. Buzzing stops when I start the car. Do you think the voltage regulator on the alternator is bad and stuck in its last position and the relay is buzzing when car is off because the regulator on alternator is bad?

Same alternator here, my voltage is showing too high when I first start and when on the highway, but later in the drive if it idles, I get low voltage - 12.8 or so. My alternator plug was missing a wire on the two-prong connector. My question is, what are the two wires on the alternator connector so I can figure out which one is missing.

I included the scematic for the 2 wires in the video. The alternator only uses 2 wires in this vehicle. They are listed with color codes.

E02 is 2 pin connector. Only 1 wire is active. The other wire is suppost to be missing. Connector e01 is a seperate wire running to the inline fuse.

For some reason I thought the other wire was supposed to be a battery sense wire. So, which terminal on the alternator is E02 supposed to connect to? Mine is missing the actual connector and only has a female connector connecting the E02.

If the e02 plug has 1 wire this is correct. Plug it in. The second wire is the one that took me 5 min to remove the one with the nut...... if your female connector does not fit maybe you got the wrong alternator.

Use new oil filter once the seal is crushed it will slowely leak.

Are all the bolts in alternator 10 mm too like the fan???

cheranguista they are metric. I'm sure you have a socket set. Not sure if I mentioned size mm sockets in this video. Wish I could remember .....

I take it that u had no choice in taking off the oil filter to remove the alternator?

My wife drives a 2013 Elantra. The battery light comes and goes. I had it tested at Autozone, they tell me the battery is good the alternator is not always working. Could this be a grounding issue that comes and goes?

Grounds or brushes inside alternator....

Please test the 2 main grounds.... engine strap near the left side of engine connecting to the engine mount area and under the battery. The battery light coming on is triggered by an alternator not charging the battery correctly.
