i worked doing after school clubs and one of the kids would call me Miss Jack i think because she thought all teachers and staff were just called Miss like it was their title or something haha it always made me laugh

At that age, it would've bothered me more that I had a male teacher than one I could look at in the eyes. Granted, I also didn't get into trouble in school because my dad was PTA president, and my fear of him was greater than how much trouble I could get in with my teachers.

You can tell a lot about a school by visiting the staffroom at lunchtime. If it's empty staff are unhappy.
