Thank you brother I really appreciate it. Right now I am dosing all for reef regularly along with the traditional things like amino‘s. I use the Red Sea and brightwell brands. My nutrients have been off lately but I’ve been doing my best to stay on top of it. Particularly with my phosphates they have bottomed out and every time I test I get a .01 reading on my Hanna checker. The goal is to bring it up naturally so I’ve been dosing amino‘s daily. Hopefully that helps but then it gets tricky because my nitrates are going to keep going up so I need to come up with a plan that will help me keep the phosphate to nitrate ratio at a good distance where it’s not too far off. I def don’t like chasing numbers but there are some lines we should try your best to not cross. My current no3 reading is 25ppm and phosphate is .01. Hoping I could bring it closer.
@@Social_Reefer I’m in the same boat. Last test a couple days ago showed 20 nitrates and 0 phosphates. I’ve just been feeding more and hoping that fixes its if not, I think adjusting the amount of time my fuge is running may help. We will see. You out in NY?
FWIW I recommend using brightwell neophos to safely raise phosphates. I've always used neophos to keep my phosphates in check as I've always had low po4 myself. I don't like the method of "just feeding more" because that also raises your nitrates more and that might not always be necessary. I've had great experience using neophos and neonitro.
@MikeLemming IMO .014 is definitely a little low. The recommendation you see the most is .03 - .10 which I think is good. Nowadays I try to stay at .1 - .15 as we are starting to see the benefits of having more elevated phosphate levels. Follow the instructions on the bottle and just test your phosphates every other day or something like that to make sure u don't overshoot your goal.
