This is one of the reasons i wear boots. Shoes seem great but they just don't hold up. Good luck with new shoes. Would enjoy an update on them after about 500 miles.
I’m on my second pair of Topo Ultraventure’s. My favorite shoe was the Timp 2, but Altra has really taken their eye off the ball. My first pair of Ultraventure’s were comfortable for about 400 miles. They are more durable than Altra’s, but for me the cushioning compresses quicker.
Altra should realize many folks like me who will be hiking the PCT in ‘24 or ‘25 watch videos provided by hikers like you and are influenced by your opinions and suggestions. Keep up the good work and good luck in the Sierra thats a very beautiful part of the hike.
I will say, ultralight is something I've tried for my feet and altras are the worst at the moment. I think they are coasting on earlier good reviews like HMG, but they quality has significantly dropped. Back to Hokas for me!
