That has already happened... Massy Ferguson is the number one selling tractor in the US. People rarely buy John Deere anymore. It's overpriced. They are living off their name brand. Around here, more people own Kubota, New Holland, X-Mark, Toro, Case and Massy Ferguson. I come from a farming family and live in the middle farm land. I rarely see a Deere.

Well they left because under Biden they couldn't make any money....I bet they'd rather do business here, it's much easier. I worked for a company in the USA and the image setters we sold were engineered and made in Belgium...what a pita! The shipping bills were murder! Nothing JD makes is small...what they would save in shipping alone would be huge!

Massey Furgeson is not being built in Minnesota, and they make a great tractor. Our companies need to stay here and build here, but we need to use new technology and look at better ways to manufacture competitively. I work with international companies and help bring their products to the USA with the understanding we will begin to build here once we get enough sales. GO TRUMP

funny that he would say this in front of a group of farmers. they are the people who buy the equipment and would pay much higher prices if trump imposes his 200% tariff. he should have said it to an audience of union folks who work in Deere factories.

Not funny at all. This message will get to John Deere, and it puts it on the radar of the farmer to start researching other options already in case they do have to cross that bridge. Plus, it's not like John Deere is the only option, farmers will just buy from someone else if the prices go up more than they are comfortable with.

@@Owsley33 he can't impose a tariff on one specific manufacturer,it has to apply to all manufacturers of the same product. In any event, competitors would be able to raise prices to just under those of Deere,and the farmer's would have to pay. and it is funny, it shows that bonespur knows less about tariffs and economics than we thought, which already wasn't much.

I think inflation is high, not "prices". Do you know what will really happen? All the people who quit manufacturing in America and moved their operations to other countries, like China and Mexico, will move back. The reason they moved in the first place is because we removed the tariffs and incentivized corporations to leave our nation. That was the great "outsourcing" movement. Not only will it bring manufacturers back, it will employ Americans instead of Chinese child / slave labor, etc... It will also strengthen our dollar, aka lower inflation, which will lower prices overall.
