You're doing great and it's important to take risks! And with the money you have left (other people have much less), in this time, you can build a business. Personally, I would invest in a Shopify store and develop all kinds of products (digital & physical). Would never rely on third-party platforms for income, but use them for your heartfelt projects and promo. Alternatively, you can always work a while with workaway or similar if money gets too tight while building your bizz. Good luck! You will be fine, you're smart and educated, so.. ;-)

"I will just get another job and try again" that is the kind of attitude living in a vehicle and having very low overheads enables which is what society should offer by default, if you want innovation and progress you don't get it in an environment of desperation, you get desperate acts and ugliness and here we are.
Seems fairly obvious really. You made enough money by working and having low living costs but are losing money by not working and hoping that YT or whatever will pay for your lifestyle. The sad reality for most is that achieving financial independence takes a lot of hard work, dedication, smart decisions and even some bits of luck along the way. I hated worked but understood from very early in my working life that to be able to stop working I had put in a lot of time, effort and compromise to get where I wanted to be.
I hope it works out for you mate. If it doesn’t on a more positive note you have a definite advantage and that is you are experienced with Van life and if it came down to it could you not go back to stay in the carpark in London. I thought that was an excellent find and you must of saved so much money. I was living in China back in 2013 and desperately wanted to come home to the UK as I was struggling with depression. My biggest concern was not having somewhere to stay as I couldn’t rely on my family and previous friends who I met at uni had left the country. I came back in the end with my wife but it was a very stressful time. 11 years later I’m planning on leaving next year to do van life as the time is right and I have income from some rental properties to fund my trip. How much do you think you need to sustain yourself each month?

Must be some building going on in the next area you going to. Stay there say 3 months build some funds and continue. You don’t have the silly rent to pay as over here :)
The way I do it(did it) lol, work until I have just enough to get by for 6 months, then I stop, take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves, do any type of work as it is simply a means to an end. I started this attitude in 1996, have had more time to myself than I could use, and still have a roof over my head, and other nice things around me. I am down to working 4 to 6 weeks per year now, mainly to fund my annual golf trip and Christmas expenses. Good luck, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to find the switch.
Ok this may sound a bit trolling but it 100% is not. First of all life is for living 100% agree. BUT, all play and no work is going to make Si a dull boy. Your future self is going to have real financial issues if you don’t start working on the importance of balance. If I were you I’d be seriously getting back to the UK and back to work. Work through the winter at the very least and build up a war chest. But also what the hell is happening with any pension contributions? You are going to need a big pot in 30 years time and you better start saving hard unless you want to be flat broke when you are at your weakest and most frail. Enjoy the adventures but keep one eye on reality and the other on the future. Its good advice. Take it or leave it. All the best.

The day somebody chooses to surrender their aspirations and independence is the day, they chose the worst outcome for their life and that says a lot about the person who is making the decision. I’m sorry but it has to be said that is brain-dead thinking to be planning your retirement around the benefits system that can change at any given moment and I hope, he has a higher IQ than that or somebody who would choose that route.

You need to get an income. To do that you need to accept your situation and get figuring of a way to move forward. Money is an energy of exchange! This may require a huge amount of deferred gratification. You are already in a very precarious situation. You are only one little knock on the road and you are homeless. What would happen if something happened to your van today??

Surgery I needed NHS doesn't fund or drugs, cost me 19000gbp - which of course I sorrow, because it's missed opportunities. If I had known you when you had your 100k a year job, I would have encouraged you to do a couple of years more before quitting. The additional savings would have carried you for many years. You should consider getting a part time job and continue to build your RU-vid income.
I know it's random but this just came to my mind as you probably might have heard this before being a vanlifer please please do not be tempted to put vegetable oil even if it's new and fresh from the shops in your van it won't work, your engine is a common rail diesel way too modern for home made veggie oil or black diesel
he is in turkey europe Schengen visa don't count , in turkey he can stay 1 years visa no problem, plus he from the UK , the UK citizen have more privilege to stay longer in the Schengen zone , for ex.. Spain 1 year, France 6 months Poland 1 year Portugal 1 year etc.. Uk citizen are European peoples from Europe its normal they can work and stay longer in the EU zone
@@patrickmaillet9594 Where did you hear British citizens have more privileges in the Schengen zone? The UK govt website states UK citizens can only stay 90 days per 180 day period within the zone.
Maybe see what youtube pays in the next few months and go from there? You could always go back to work for a period of time and then go back on the road after 😊🙏 🌍 imagine going back to work and getting another 20k behind you would be alot more comfortable mate. Si. Great video but to be fair there was a lot of waffling in this video and that's something that you committed not to do. I was waiting for the second part of this video but it never came. The second part of this video and the most important part is what you are doing to mitigate the risk. I'm from where I'm sitting it looks like very little. 3500 is a very small amount of money and it seems to me like you want to take this to The Wire. It's almost like you want to fail. What we as viewers need to see is the steps you are taking to support yourself and to move forward now that you are staring the consequences of your big risk in the face. Are you going to nose dive into the ground are you going to share the skill set you have to navigate this in a sensible way.

I’ll be honest with you also, as regards to mitigation of risk, once I’m at this stage other than getting a job that guarantees an income there isn’t much, because the risk comes from low funds and the potential that it will run out and my endeavours fail to succeed in time. The door to this much risk has already opened. I’m playing a high risk game, by choice. I’m happy to play life this way, I have done all my life. You’re correct, I’m willing to take this to the wire, my very last penny. If it works, it will be a success story, if it doesn’t, I will have failed, however, only temporarily. Because I will get a job, and then I will save money, quit, and try again. I will do this until I either die a failure, or a success. I do not want to fail, but I will accept that whatever happens it was my choices that lead to the position. Sensible is an opinion. In my opinion it is not sensible for most people to take the amount of risk I do. It is also my opinion that most people live boring lives.
@@LIFEOFSIofficial great answer I'm really glad you came back to me on this. I do see black and white thinking here and what your demonstrating is extremes. So you are leading with 'don't do what I do' and the only way to have an interesting life is to to live with extremes which from most people is completely untenable and would scare them away from taking risks. There are ways to mitigate your risk that include not taking it to The Wire but I do understand that is your choice. The theme from your earlier videos was very much showing people how to get freedom and that chasing money is not the answer. But your last few videos have been very money orientated and you have just through about 17,000 in just a couple of months. And put yourself back in a financially pressured situation. I will make a suggestion and that is that rein in your spending do some meditating and think laterally about how you can solve this problem before getting to the wire ❤️
