This ballistic dart launcher is dangerous and I’m returning it asap. I do not recommend! Get it here if you dare. Lol. beacons.ai/chr... #edc #everydaycarry #dangerous #illegal #banned #dart #gun
*because knowing what direction the magnetic pole is will greatly increase the accuracy of the spring loaded dart/ projectiles even though they are probably comprised of stainless which is nonferrous*
But it's just the sort of "feature" that sadly appeals to boys who are probably the target market for this. It's like those ads for useless things you used to get in the back of comics - if it has a compass and a thing for getting stones out of horses' hooves it's irresistible to boys.
@@scottmantooth8785 According to google all stainless steel metals are a type of steel. That means their chemical composition contains iron. In most cases, stainless steel varieties with iron in their composition are magnetic. If the alloy has an austenitic crystal structure, then it's not magnetic.
As a 50ish year old carpenter I have to disagree with a lot of people commenting. Wood definitely dulls steel. I use high quality tools. They have to be sharpened/replaced regularly.
Its crazy anti gunners would rather have a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire and bash in people heads for self protection but shooting someone goes to far.
@@wellington400 right??!? I listened to two adults argue about whether or not they should put a sock over the end of a baseball bat so they can beat an intruder with it, and they can't grab the bat out of their hands. Like holy cow guys, just shoot the guy, don't beat him to death
@@carlweezer1908 My state bans carrying brass knuckles but you can carry a handgun without a license if you are 21 or a long gun at any age. "Ballistic knives" had a scare about them some time ago, and the federal govt put restrictions on their sale and transport. Some states may have passed laws too. I don't know if Ron is correct, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was.
@@johnded3874 yea brass knuckles and long blades are illegal in most states and open carry any handgun is ok in most states that revolver comment through me off lol because it's still a handgun
and all of those things are illegal in a majority of first world counties including most of Europe, the UK and Australia, this is super illegal too but at least you can buy it on wish for $5 and if you ever have to use it, it wont be hard to get rid of after since its just junk
@@eindride1268 if you can't fight five than your a pussy two arms two legs use your head and bite. At 15 it took 5 adults to restrain me without even being violent
@@nicholashodges201 if you actually have to use that to defend your life, i'd rather be using my hands because you can literally shrug off those darts with enough sheer willpower
That thing will not be doing much to a normal person if you haven’t noticed the heads are fucking giant so they won’t be entering. Only the very tips will go in if that so most you’d do is like go a cm inside someone before it bounces out
I think his biggest thing is how youre supposed to load it and the fact that the "safety" doesnt actually work, like imagine that thing just goes off in your pocket. The darts wont go deep, but that would still hurt
I bought that exact thing and it was terrible and more than a little terrifying. I loaded all of the chambers and half of them wouldnt launch but simultaneously felt like they could go off at any time. Also when i tried to return it they just gave me my money back and said keep it.
I enjoy that half of the comments are complaining that the darts are better if you remove the protection cap. I don't think they understood the point, that this is wildly dangerous because the safety doesn't work. It's like complaining that your glock doesn't have an external safety which means you feel less comfortable, and someone responds with "they shoot much better with R.I.P ammo"
@@anadamantoutdoorsman About 80% or more of the "mall ninja" weapons like this dart launcher are generally more dangerous to the user than the target. To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised the housing held up to the spring compression. I fully expected the entire thing to explode the first time he attempted to fire a dart.
@@azerdraco3146 right?? if anyone genuinely thinks these are good for self defense I feel awful for them. if im gonna trust my life with something it better be reliable
@@williammorris7390 depends. I've seen legit social media brags by UK loser patrol ladies about how they dug up a screwdriver from a crevice and are making the streets safe from edged weapons. Or an instance where a screwdriver armed threatening home invader was killed by a 79 yr old with a kitchen knife, and his house was paraded by daily, it was a federal case, for the guy dared to defend himself. Also they’ve recently banned curved swords. Curved. Swords. Amongst other things.
This does look like junk, but you should NEVER rely on a safety to keep something firing a projectile from hurting you. Same firearm safety rules apply here.
So the trick is if your lost in woods and while you look at compass a bear comes towards you. Then at that moment the dart’s fire out into your foot while screaming and hoping-hence scaring off bear. Where do i buy?
You could redesign that to be much more efficient and safe. Make the tabs draw back to load. Treat its loading mechanism like a crossbow and not my kid's Spiderman wrist webber rocket.
@Chrispy Things [EDC] Can't blame you, at all. I didn't actually expect you to modify their trash. I'm just amazed they thought that was good design. Lol
Pretty much. I'd rather use a crossbow. Way more effective at eliminating your opponent. And the safety on my pistol crossbow actually works and it's deadly accurate up to 15m. 🙂
@@icehoof You'd be surprised how easily you can conceal a pistol crossbow and how quickly it can be (re)loaded. You can also carry it around while loaded as mine has a safety on it. 😉 This 'ninja dart' device on the other hand will likely go off while it's in your pocket and shoot all those darts into your own body.
I review swords, sabers and knives, mostly, but I've also done some hand-projectiles, namely a set of bo-shuriken I had made by Iga Tengu Forge. These types of hand-thrown projectiles weren't really intended to cause injury or death, so much as a distraction, or an "entry tool", to force a response from the opponent, that leaves them vulnerable to attack with the main weapon, sword or spear. Most of these weapons took advantage of cultural lore, for instance, Japanese "tengu demons" that were said to live in trees. In context of a common Japanese person living during the Sengoku-jidai, I wouldn't stop to think twice if razor-sharp spikes and circles started pelting me, I'd likely go straight back the way I came. The mountainous peoples of Iga province were known to dress up and throw weapons, rocks, etc. onto travelers wandering too close to their encampments. This thing is a "tacti-cool" nightmare.
honestly, what did you expect? spring propulsion , no tail for orientation, broad conical heads..... it works surprisingly well for a toy that can put your eye out
That's not really what the government says. The thing is is you don't need automatic semi-automatic weapons as a civilian hunting rifles for hunting. Sure shotguns for hunting. Sure using it for some of the fence. I feel like is a really mean thing to do cuz they're unnecessarily cruel. But it's understandable why you might have one to use. Because again hunting pistols are iffy because they are designed to kill humans and only to kill humans. But you can't really go and kill 50 people with a pistol with much ease but you can with a semi to fully automatic weapon
@@TheJonnyhankins Dude, most pistols are semi-auto. And they can be used in mass shootings. I think many years ago a pistol was used to shoot a few dozen kids at virginia tech. I could be remembering wrong though. My point isnt that we should get rid of pistols, it's telling people to quit villifying rifles. Pistols are just as deadly. Leave our rifles alone.
@@TheJonnyhankins that’s exactly what our government says! If not, why do they want our guns yet they all go around with armed guards 24/7 and now they hired or are hiring armed IRS agents.
@@cameronhoward99 The thing is a rifle can be used for hunting. You don't really need a semi-automatic but that's fine. A fully automatic you absolutely don't need. Rivals can be used for hunting Shopkins communities for hunting pistols were specifically designed to kill people
Subbed. Thank god I came across Kuncan Dastner I don’t know how many months/years ago. While I’d been into some essayists prior to then, finding a soft/spoken, gentle, male, essayist has led to me finding other essayists such as Fiq, Foreign, and yourself. Amazing video.
It looked promising from the cgi trailer when they brought it out but now it's like those crappy inventions you find in the back of magazine that never work and yes I'm showing my age
Like literally carrying things that will get them sent to jail but "at least it's not a gun". Or knives. If you're not mean enough to carry a gun, you're definitely not mean enough to use a knife on a person. If you're mean enough to cut someone effectively with a knife, you're just going to carry a gun because it's easier.
My mom bought me that for Christmas. It is a dangerous weapon for everyone involved. Target, shooter, anyone. I was surprised by the power of the springs, but wouldn't carry around on me or anywhere near me.
If the darts dull, just sharpen them. Pressing in steel into a peice of pine, balsa wood, or a plastic cutting board really won't hurt the point. Safety not working is a big deal though.
I mean, since you already have it you could try taking it apart and modifying it to make it safer and better. I'd have to watch the original video to see what it's supposed to be for and stuff, but you could probably add worm tooth gears to it to allow you to wind it that can be pivoted out of the way to allow it to fire (either one per dart or one on either end that push on a platform that pushes on all of the dart platforms without touching the darts) that all connect to one crank, which would both make it easier to load and act as an actual safety if done right. Edit: ok, after looking at the original video, the only thing I would keep is the springs or whatever is being used to shoot the darts, because they seem to be powerful enough to be interesting, and you could probably make a decent little crossbow out of them with the right pullies and spring setup...
Interesting premise. The only edge I think it might have over a more common self-defense weapon is a brief moment of hesitation from “what is he pointing at me?” Shame it’s a bitch to load and the safety doesn’t even work.
I have the same one as in video, "Stinger" brand and the buttons were extremely loose and they were prone to popping off when I shot single darts ,so I glued the buttons to the tiny prong underneath where the buttons are attached and somehow by doing that it fixed the problem of popping off of course but also fixed the issue with being able to fire the dart with safety engaged....
They need to equip Walmart door checkers with this device. Cheap, dangerous, scary and probably non-lethal. In those videos where you see people pushing out a cart full of unpaid merchandise, this would legit make a Perp dip after one or two darts to the ass. 😂
Everyone is talking about removing the dart caps, dude just talked about and showed us the safety doesn't work and they want to see more damage. Id rather only have the tip stuck than a whole dart if it goes off when it shouldn't
I ended up buying that exact one about 2 years ago and holy shit its terrible. 1st off the buttons keep falling off, 2nd its so weak that its barely gonna make someone bleed, its more of a "no I dont wanna feel slight pain ill leave you alone" kind of thing, 3rd the compass doesent even work properly, you tap it and it just keeps spinning about a quarter turn over and over again, as you mentioned here, the safety does fuck all, and the darts are way too tough to load, especially when using just your hands and not a random piece of wood you might for some reason have on you at the time.
Mine does exactly the same thing and my buttons kept popping off had to glue them to the tiny prong underneath and somehow it solved the problem with the safety issue,
Safer with a Taurus G2C. Safety works, if you're into that sort of thing. Safe. Discreet. Inexpensive. Legal. - 12 in the mag, one in the chamber. Plenty of force to stop an attacker. I don't recommend it on large animals though. You will be eaten. It's a jungle out there - stay safe. ✌️
I don't see how this doesn't fall into the category of ballistic knives, which are illegal pretty much everywhere. The reason is how ridiculously dangerous they are to handle for everyone involved.
I mean I'd never carry it in public or consider using it for self defense like people are complaining about, but it seems like a cool item and good fun to mess with once in a while, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Lol the velocity of that thing is horrible and the fact it shoots with safety on that should be a lawsuit, AND you’re right about them tips, they would get dull after about 5 uses, maybe less. That thing was made in China from slave labor forsure. Or a similar Country.
Gotta ask, is that a Skagen hybrid watch? I absolutely love mine and wish that brand was more well known. Way tf off topic but had to ask when I seen it
I'd rather have something sturdy made of metal that only fires one Dart. Practically speaking you could do more damage and you get more versatility from a $5 slingshot or you can make something like that with the piece of aluminum tubing or steel or even PVC pipe and a rubber band
"Ballistic Dart Launcher" That is not only Dangerous, but Ballistic Devices and Weapons are Illegal to posses and carry in most States (if not all under some circumstances). Also let's acknowledge that if something Plastic uses Metal for ammunition, it's gonna cause Deformation the Weapon every time you use it, until it becomes either too dangerously inaccurate to use reliably or breaks the Weapon (assuming this thing is even remotely accurate from spaces as close as 20m like most Ballistics, which I seriously doubt to be the case).
Just for an fyi for all of you if you have any kind of quality steel then you will *NEVER* dull it by pressing it into wood what it takes for steel to dull is for something stronger than it to chip off or scratch the tip off
It won't dull it once but it will dull after multiple times and these aren't made from "quality" steel or they would cost 1,000$ but it like 50 on Amazon lol
You are very wrong. Chisels are dulled by wood even if they are the highest quality steel. Same with every other woodworking tool and they are all made of steel.
