I’m glad you feel like you know me because I’ve always tried to be myself and open up about the good and bad things in life and whether you see me online or meet me in person I’m the same person. I saw a build I thought was absolutely brilliant, This couple had a cupboard over the sink that hid a suspended dish drying rack. so it stored their plates, cups, and flatware immediately after washing.

Hi Will, Tip, you can use masking tape, painters tape to hold it in place until you need to screw it in. Also, as you were having trouble to screw it in, use a hole punch to make a small hole so your screws has something to bit into as you screw it in. Anyway, look forward to your build.

@@WillsWhereabouts No worries..they are differently cheap, a few quid but they are great for making a small little hole for the screws or nail to bite in. And masking tape works well in holding things in places...picked this up from other DIY channels. Look forward to the next rebuild video.

The table needs hidden draw runners, or you are going to get the grease on every thing. A batten on the outside the runner on the inside of the table top. The table top needs to be hollow

Just for future reference. Those drawer slides can actually be mounted horizontally .. underneath the wood, as opposed to on the side edges. And you get ones that pull out to their full length and not leave 20 % of the table under the bed.That way, the thickness of the wood is a little less of an issue. And easier to fit, also.I was yelling at the screen about being able to separate the slides as well. So glad you found the latch. You'll need to raise the bed slats as well, now that you've increased the height in the middle of the base. Which will mean running even more wood over the top of the table. May be easier to use sheets of ply.. or mdf board, with holes cut out, than reusing the slats. Just a thought. Good luck dude.

@@uptowndisco2 I wouldn't say it was fugly, just, maybe, not the best or easiest way to do it. We learn by doing - and changing what doesn't work well, to something that does. Will is a bit of a... "noob"... when it comes to this stuff: and he is one of many people who have difficulties internally visualising an end result of doing something a certain way. Or measuring what you "really" need, before getting what you "think" you need... I've been there. Like, he could have bought longer slides to fit better *across* the steel bed frame/base. But, anyway... IIWII.😀👍

With the Victron app you need to charge the battery completely and then set it to 100%. The biggest mistake people make is just to set a new battery at 100% before it has been charged. Lithium batteries do not come fully charged.

I am about halfway through with some pretty big changes to my own build. I build the van while I was single, and while I did take into account 2 people in the van (1.2m wide bed, 2 seats etc) it turns out when actually with two some stuff needs to be different. I am redoing my bed, making it about 1.6m wide. Redoing my cabinets from doors to drawers (sucks to open a door when there is stuff on the ground) Making the couch wide enough to sit on next to eachother redoing the floor (had a type of parquet floor but it got completely scratched up, so now keeping parquet in low volume areas (bottom of cabinets) but an (easily removable) carpet in the rest I still need to do quite some bit, but I have a few more weeks untill im back on the road

Looking forward to watching the rebuild of Mary. You should have put the runners fot the table underneath it instead of on the sides. That way you haven't got greasy runners rubbing against your t shirt while sitting at the table.

Seeing how long it took to fit a table, I fear the rest of this build may take a while! Will, I too have an old Black and Decker workbench from my late grandfather, it's covered in the remnants of his use and still works great. Nice memory to have of him.

Go Will, enjoy the upgrades. You might want to check you are using the matching screw head to the screws, I think the screws are PH2 and you are using a PZ2 bit, i could be wrong though. 👍

Your Victron Shunt,, From memory, is the negative the only connection to battery,,, with all others connected elsewhere? Many of the BMS of Lifpo batteries don’t recognise and current draw below 1amp also.. so you may get inaccuracy there also. Just food for thought… Keep up the good work.

Difficulty with screws: get an awl. Handy for many things, like ensuring you have a nice starter hole in a right spot for your screw.

First off I love the warning. It reminds me of the time one of your frends that helped you in the first van build said you shouldn't be using power tools at all. I had the same issue when I was watching people's videos how they make it look so easy caus i wold get so upset that if i couldn't get something to work like them Then my wife told me they edit the videos. I felt alot better caus i didn't know.

This is why I'm a big believer in starting out no-build and just adding permanant things as needed. But I'm also not a content creator who needs material from which to create content. Lol

Great video. I haven’t laughed this hard in a while. Mainly because I see and hear myself. Although I would be cursing more. 😀 Learning by trying is the best experience. I’ve been doing that for years and only make about half the mistakes I used to make. 🤣 Can’t wait to see Mary 2.0.

The sliding table, why not have the runners mounted to the underside of the table, they won’t be visible and table top depth will be irrelevant.
