Alec's face when he was going to marry Lidya was like the face of someone who was facing a hanging sentence,,,, Alec's face when he was going to marry Magnus was like the face of someone who got a big lottery,, I love him so much and he's deserves all happiness with Magnus his beloved husband,, ❤️

Wow, this really hit me. I got so emotional. Watching Alec grow. His sadness and repression and how he started opening up with Magnus. That attraction just couldn’t be denied. And of course Magnus pursued him. It’s just beautiful.

god i had to restart this so many times because i was getting emotional. i wanted to point out you using the "you're not sick" line!!!! like alec is talking to jace there but it really fits him too and i'm glad someone else had to the same thought as me! but overall you have such an amazing ability to find parallels and using that izzy line at the end almost made me cry

this this video right here is one of the best examples why this show, despite its flaws, was and still is so so important, and should never have been discontinued in the first place Alec's character arc alone was so important, seeing someone struggle with fitting in and accepting themselves, coming to terms with their own sexuality, learning to stand up for and respect yourself, struggling with depression and self-doubt, learning to accept help from friends and family. Magnus and Alec's relationship was a healthy, real relationship between two people who could support each other and work through their issues in a healthy way. Seeing these kinds of relationships on tv, and characters with these kinds of struggles is so important, and I believe that they deserve to be brought back and given another chance For these reasons and so many more, this show was so precious to so many people, and has helped so many more in learning to accept and love themselves. while the books will always be around to keep these characters alive, the show brought their story more to the surface and the actors did an incredible job portraying them. for me, these two will always be so special and have a place in my heart

agh this was so beautiful. chills throughout, alec's development is so well freakin done in this show. just yesss.

It's almost criminal that his family & the Shadowhunter culture forced Alec to smother his warm heart & selfless caring nature under the strict emotionless "The Law is hard, but it is the Law" training. The fact that he was able to break free of that & remake himself shows how strong he is. Magnus gave him the motivation and supported him greatly, but Alec had the courage to do the work.

My beautiful boy with his bruised heart. He will forever be one of my favorite characters because of his vulnerability and the way he changed. He put up such a hard facade while on the inside he love till it hurts. Whenever he hugs someone he squeeze his eyes closed as if he feels their pain.

It brings me to tears seeing Alecs development. In season 1 he was all about duty and following orders to be the perfect shadowhunter his parents pushed him to be, to be the next Jace. And after meeting Magnus everything started to change and made him realize he wanted to be something more than that. I especially love how he talks about feelings being an issue and getting in the way in season 1, and then in I think season 2 he turns down becoming a delegate, something his parents wouldve loved him for and something hes worked hard for, to be with the man he loves because he cant live without him and he doesnt want to go a day without seeing and being with him.

My deepest thanks to you. This video brings live to me, it is an incredibly professional work which I can't compliment enough... That tittle is something my mother told me a week after I came out. For some reason I relate too much to Alec, specially because of the shame I had to fight against. I was so terrified thinking of the guys I liked finding out about me... The shame, the fear, the tiredness of pretending and swallowing all my feelings. I can imagine how Alec felt when Jace confronted him, when Clary told him that thoughtless words... I feared them mysefl, and I feared every minute of Alec's story 😣 But seing Alec's evolution I rembered how I've overcome that fear and I'm inspired to be even more fearless now... Thanks again. a lot of people hate on the show and say the movie is better but , it’s just. to me, the show really captures some of the characters and their personalities. for example , alec’s character development is shown beautifully on this show. matthew played a wonderful alec , and he captured his essence dead on. from the sass , to letting himself be who he really truly is.🖤
