I agree, when you’re pushing it, it’s really fun and rewarding to drive

If you like driving I'm sure you'd enjoy driving the Fiesta St. My Megane clearly hasn't got the build quality of a BMW but it's very enjoyable to drive too.

The Fiesta ST is built in Cologne Germany. So this German build quality comment is moot. The hard plastics in the interior can be expected when building a performance car at this price. Nevertheless the interior is far better than many of the cars in similar price range of 20 years ago.

Utter rubbish

When you’ve owned a German car, paid for insurance, fuel, parts, repairs and maintenance, its easy to enjoy a FORD.

@@mattws5784 With that narrow mindedness I can tell you're very clearly not a car enthusiast - if you were you'd know that the fast Meganes are far from boring 😂 They're not great looking cars though I'll give you that. I care more about the drive than the looks 🙂

I literally stated in the video that I’m not a reviewer 😅 I also state that I’d never experienced a fast ford before and didn’t know how good they were. Once I’d driven it, I clearly say that it’s very enjoyable and can totally understand why they’re so loved. Your comment confuses me haha, but thanks for watching

I think those two shouldn't be compared. Fiesta ST is a great small car, cheaper to run and service compared to BMW options. M240i/M140i are better, faster and more luxurious options which cost more, are more expensive to run. From economy standpoint, you are looking at up to 20K difference in 5 year term when it comes to expenses for these. If I need a small car to have fun driving, I would definitely chose Fiesta and get myself a bigger car for longer trips. If money is not problem, M240i xDrive all the way. Just my opinion. Cheers!

Jovan Petrovic Couldn’t agree more, they’re not even in the same league. The fiesta would be a very good choice and is a very sensible option for a daily. But from Joel’s opinion on the fiesta and him mentioning the Bmw towards the end, you can tell that’s what he wants. The m240i isn’t really the most sensible daily driver but it’s what he leans towards, it probably would be more sensible if he was to look at the 230i because that’s probably the best mix of power and economy with the Bmw quality. Edit* I'll actually say now just from a few minutes of research that it would be better value for money to get a 225d over the 230i. Both are quite tuneable with a stage 1 map, but after the map the 225d is more powerful and has more torque and will have way better fuel economy than the 230i. I know a diesel is a bit boring but at the end of the day it's a daily, and a 225d will be all he'd need really.

Kind of a pointless comment considering you are comparing used to a new price. These ST3s are nearing 14k for a 1-2 year old one so that’s a bargain compared to the other cars you mentioned

No way!!! I’ve had a nice E46 330ci m sport coupe in the past, I’ve now got a mk2 focus st which is miles better than the e46 I had. This Fiesta ST is so much better than your bmw mate.

I’ve had both and the fiesta is more engaging

It is a fun car for sure however. Not fast enough to make you laugh when you accelerate though

Second hand market either means you have £26k in cash lying around or want to pay an extortionate interest rate on a finance deal. I didn’t fancy either of those options. All depends on personal circumstances.

Each to their own for sure! There are lots of used cars you could get definitely, and that’s probably the way I’d sway, however theres always something special about a brand new car

Typically a used £26k car costs a lot more to maintain than a new £26k car. You can get a Porsche 911, bmw m4 or lotus Evora but running costs are MUCH more expensive So saying you could buy one of those isn’t comparing apples to apples

Cornwall1888 you could probably get a used Bentley for £26k but I would hate for one to go wrong.

The performance edition is actually only marginally more expensive than the standard model. I wouldn’t personally, but I totally get why people do

Anyone with a brain really wouldn't spend 26k on it when you can pick up a mk8 st for about 15k but obviously not a performance edition but it's no quicker

I didn’t pay anywhere list price for mine. The car also comes with lowered coil overs and lightweight alloys worthy well over £2500. Brand new there aren’t many others cars that compete in that price range. Everyone has an opinion though which is fair enough and if I had bought used I agree, it wouldn’t be the smartest way to spend your money!
