Not really, depends of the country, in local radios where i live only 3 or 4 kpop songs were played, i think half were from black pink and the rest were bts songs
I used to listen to domino and Christmas evel,as soon as I found out it was stray kids(I was already a kpop fan so i knew abt them but didn't like actually Stan them)I became the biggest stay in a day 🫣
One moment i will NEVER forget is that one time in school, during my athletics class, i heard a girl singing Dice or as she called it, “Big Wave” and i straight up told her it was kpop. The look or disgust and horror on her face was so over exaggerated over fucking HILARIOUS. 💀
Fr i was like umm what’s with that look. lmfaoo. anyways nobody even liked her because she was a pick me and she was on ft w dudes and was shaking her shit naked 💀💀 she was in 8th grade…
It happened the same to mee, i hated k-pop sooo much because of bts and bp, and when i looked to thr songs in my playlist, half of them where of bp and bts, i was so disgusted
@@MayaLove777 it's not about being manipulated. They were forced into extremely unhealthy diets and weren't allowed to get treatment for the resulting issues. That's on the company.
if you don’t know the complete situation, then don’t bother. The co CEO manipulated the girls into quitting the company. The truth was their company was treating them better than 99% of other idols, yes that includes idols from big 3. They got spacious af dorms, their MVS were incredibly high budget, their other CEO literally did EVERYTHING in his power for the girls to live decently. Man lived in his car for a year just for them. And that’s backed by many idols who were in the company, there are Idols who completely defended the CEO with all their will. Also, If the company was SO toxic, why did Keana join again?? Why did she support her CEO at the end?? ADMIT IT OR NOT, diet culture is a BIG part of Kpop. I’m not defending it, but ALL companies force their idols to starve so that’s not a valid reason for all FF members to leave when all companies enforce it!! YG literally told Jisoo to eat 400 cal for her solo. That’s a huge company. If that were the reason FF girls would never leave. Just don’t pull these claims out of nowhere.
@@ot7biasedmashupswith your logic, all SM idols should leave their company as they’re not getting good enough treatment. Getting the success FF got isn’t a small deal. There are idols who would kill to have something as big as that. It’s impossible that the girls would leave at the height of their success. There MUST be some other internal factor which played into the girls’ disbandment. The FF girls were getting better treatment than 9/10 of the SM idols, why would they leave??
funny Story: Gangnam Style came out and I hated it with such a passion and thought I would never like kpop 2NE1's I am the best showed me how diverse kpop can be and I started to love them and SNSD
literally hello bitches by CL might be one of the most "oh i didn't know that was kpop" songs EVER. i heard that song EVERYWHERE before i got into kpop lol
@@jess7142 everywhere doesnt mean korea? korea is just one country, and it isn't THAT populated... there are over 175 countries. north america if u wanted me to answer ur question
I thought my first exposure to Kpop was through Blackpink’s debut in 2016, but no. It was 100% Gangnam Style. My sister also refused to believe that Colors by Stella Jang and Cupid (the Twin version) were Kpop, but they are :)
Some people only dislike kpop because they are embarrassed to like it or racist. Cause my husband will be like “this is a nice song!” Until I tell him “YEAH ITS KPOP😊” then suddenly he goes “nvm turn this shit off” like it’s really annoying when people are like that.
In 2016 I "found out" about kpop and I was like "wtf is that and how come no one knows about it till now?! Then, I found out Miss A was kpop and I knew them since 2012. It seems like I was so young that everything sounded english for me (cause english is not my native language)
I would add Gee by SNSD Pop by Nayeon Drunk-dazed by Enhypen Zoom by Jessi Butter by BTS Christmas evel by Stray kids Ring ding dong by SHINee Nilili Mambo (the part “bye guys, hi ladies MWA”) by BlockB Boca by Dreamcatcher Rover by Kai Fever (I think it went really viral) by Enhypen Pretty savage (instrumental) by Blackpink Russian Roulette by Red Velvet Fast Forward by Jeon somi Polaroid love by Enhypen Love shot by EXO Love Scenario by iKon Bouncy by Ateez After school by Weeekly Just right by Got7 Gods menu by Stray kids Bad boy by Red velvet Likey by Twice What is love by Twice Replay by SHINee Growl by EXO Very Nice by SEVENTEEN Ditto by Newjeans Don’t wanna cry by SEVENTEEN

Some year sooner, i heard for the first time “wrap me in plastic”, “Gangnam style” and “colour”. I had NO IDEA that this was kpop. I used to hate kpop with all my heart cuz people keep saying that this was some “kids boppy” song… Now i’m a kpop lover and I rly want to thanks my older sister that said that all these song was kpop and that get me into kpop. My friend was thinking that too but now my bestie keeps talking about bts and blackpink. I introduced them to her cuz they are the “Kpop stan starter pack” but now I think she’s ready to know more about it!
a person in one of my classes were saying “i hate kpop, kpop sucks and their songs are literally all so bad” when they were literally singing cupid ( fiftyfifty ) and i think it was 3d and seven (jungkook ) edit: and dreamers-
3 years ago, I’ve heard blackpink’s how you like that, bts dynamite and boy with luv, and 2 years ago I heard skz’ Christmas EveL and lisa’ money, and never knew they were kpop. But the shock I got when I knew Christmas evel is a kpop song and specifically from skz is unforgettable cuz at that time I used to hate kpop so much, I used to dance to it and sing it all day + it was all over tiktok
The fact most of these song are that I first heard for the 1st before I started stanning any group. And first ever songs was Gangnam style, I bet 99% of the people's 1st kpop was this
@@portaldolphin13 there is a running joke where the end of utopia by ateez plays and then ring ding dong plays right after (a super sad / solemn thing happens and then a funny / out of pocket thing happens right after) it’s been popular on tiktok since 2022
THE NMIXX CHANGE UP LETS GO IN DICE, GOT SO POPULAR IN MY CLASS AND THEY CALL IT BIG WAVE BIG WAVE, AND THEY SAY IM A KPOP FREAK BUT ITS LITERALLY KPOP.
Even as an American there is a lot of K-pop here in mall stores, random places/stores, people listening to it, radio sometimes, and even advertising I’ve seen so many different ads that use Blackpink songs it’s crazy so yeah even if you don’t want to you’ll stumble across it
Wrap me in plastic was originally NOT K-pop, and I heard it before the mono land version came out, so… most people got s valid point there + it was alr big in the animation, art, Gacha edit communities sooo
@@onceblink2191 wait, really? I used gangnam style in a lot of my rpd videos (on my older channel, this is my new channel) but I've never got a blocked or partially blocked from that one song 🤔
I don’t know if it depends on countries or anything else but I saw people deleting the sound of it to avoid strikes. I don’t want to take risks because i already have 2 strikes
Honestly, “Nobody” by The Wonder Girls was my introduction to Kpop because they played the English version at every Filipino party. I had no clue it was a Kpop song until not long ago!! However, of course that was very shortly followed by my OBSESSION with the juggernaut song “Gee” by the artist formerly known as Girls’ Generation. That song had a chokehold on me for such a long time.
Nobody by Wonder Girls was my introduction to kpop, tho I didn’t know it was kpop back then. The song was freaking massive in my country, everyone knew the dance
Nobody was my first song too! Saw them open for the Jonas Brothers. Wouldn't get into kpop for a few years but when I heard Nobody again I was like, this sounds familiar
I remember listening to Gangnam Style for the first time, and thinking "wow, this is so cool that he incorporates his Korean culture into a song with English in it as well. Like I thought this was the coolest thing ever. Then I heard some Blackpink songs, and I was OMG, they do it too, and thats when I actually figured out what K-pop was as a genera lol.
i was an gacha kid when i was younger so IMAGINE the SHOCK that was on my face when i found out Anti-Romantic was from one of my Ult Groups, TXT!! and i have this one girl in my class who sang to Dice(the Big Wave part) and then some 8th graders who sang to Cupid on the bus. i’ll never forget that
omggg yesyesyesyesyes i love that song with all my heart me and my older cousin would blast it when i was a kid and she was a teen now shes an adult and im a teen 😭😭😭 i miss hanging out with her since we arent close anymore and love scenario gives me so much nostalgiaaaaaaa
my first k-pop song was Big Bang- Fantastic Baby and at that time i didn´t know it was k-pop 😅 Through TikTok, most people will have heard k-pop or used the sounds without knowing that it is kpop. Like Christmas Evel or Jessi- Zoom and so much more
I would also add Up & Down by EXID, I heard the song many times long before I become interested in kpop and legit thought the lyrics were "we are, we we are" 😂
I remember back in 2018 I was in the Philippines and my cousins started playing momoland on the tv and it was a really good song. I started listening to it without ever knowing it was K-pop. Now I’m a K-pop fan of 2 years :) (started in October of 2022 up until right now)
I didn’t even know kpop in 2020 in 2021 I listened to blackpink and in 2022 I listened to (g)-idle and now I Stan half of the kpop industry I just love their songs now kpop songs are in my head
i was convinced that Gangnam style was my first exposure to Kpop, until i realized that through out childhood i was singing nobody by wonder girls and sorry sorry by super junior 😭😭
Nah once when the boys played with the class computer they played music and decided to play broken melodies and candy by nct dream and the way my friends and my head turns immediately
Before I became a fan of KPop, the only KPop song I heard and knew. Was gangnam style back in what? 2012 or something in my final year of school. After becoming a fan really the only ones that seemed to come up on UK radio was twice blackpink itzy and red velvet. We almost never (if ever) get boy groups songs on our radio so I can honestly say I had never listened to a full BTS song until, I think it was butter? Came out. Before becoming a KPop fan I stayed to my own music playlists (heavy metal, alternate rock, Christina rock stuff like that) and never really branched out until, and I remember it to this date, it was a Friday after work in 2020 (quite literally 7 days before the UK was thrown into lockdown) and a buddy of mine made me listen to SKZ gods menu, haven’t looked back since.
i would like to add, that after i found "This Love" by shinhwa i had realised that i vividly remembered listening to it as a kid, although i thought it was before i had ever heard Gangnam style
yt and tt made these songs impossible to escape from lol 😭 tho is seven considered K-pop because it doesn’t really have any Korean lyrics in it, it’s just sung by a Korean singer
WHATTTTT ANTI ROMANTIC IS TXT?! I WAS TODAY YEARS OLD WHSN I LEARNED OMG. This is hilarious because I used to hate kpop and then I fell in love with the song Omg by New jeans and stopped being dumb and gave kpop a chance and now I have a playlist with almost 300 kpop songs and am a huge stay/moa. I loved the anti romantic meme when I "hated" kpop so this is so funny to me. EDIT: AND THE VIRAL COLORS AUDIO AND WAY BACK HOME?! MY LIFE FEELS LIKE A LIE WHATTTT
@@onceblink2191 really? I'm glad! It took me a while to admit kpop was good but I'm so happy I did because I'm literally such a huge stay (Felix and Hyunjin are my biases) and I have 4 posters and 3 albums (working on getting more) and an entire shelf on my bookshelf dedicated to photocards and albums and mini posters. It's so funny
Fancy and Boy With Luv always brings me a really good feeling, like a good, nostalgic and warm feeling, you know? Two of my favorite kpop songs, I get happy whenever I listen to It💗💗💗
Last year everyone in my class was singing the twin version of Cupid and I straight up told everyone it was K-pop and they all stared at me with confusion. Best moment of my life.
