I think it was neat that when you start the game, Leshy is this ominous mysterious figure, he looks sinister and his music theme is unnerving. When you reach the main story's ending, you're probably crying having one last game with him with his music being sentimental and sad to hear. At the end of the day, he's just the best immersive DM buddy you could play RPGs with.
When you think about it, despite what it looks like, that he's killing and torturing people in his cabin over this game, at the end of the day, it's a video game, a fact he's also well aware of. He's just making immersive worldbuilding with the knowledge that he's not hurting anyone (except the three scrybes but tbh those three kinda suck.)
@@scootinkermie I mean he also made his disciples go through literal torture to have a chance of becoming a card (Sensory depravation, decapitation, gooification.) So he's worse then leshy (who cares about his workers) and grimoria (Who probably also cares) but better then po3 and his sweatshop workshop.
@@scootinkermie he also painted over it though. in the end u can see a bucket of paint under the painting meaning magnificus chose to erase goobert from it. and also he tortures his students lol. tree behavior
Watching the first footage after the end of Act 1 is so hard. They did such a good job capturing that awkward energy that you get when you’re a small time creator.
I didn't bother. I may come to regret it when I make it to the end, but I just couldn't stand it. I'm not really a fan of the framing so far, the concept of act 1 on its own with Leshy in the cabin DM'ing a slay the spire like is enough, I don't get why you'd undercut it with some lame found footage, and even worse, now I have to listen to this obnoxious dude chime in. I really enjoyed act 1 but the game took a dive in act 2. Going from a deckbuilding rouglite to a 16 bit TCG puzzle game was not a good change in my eyes, either. The addition of more cards is cool, but not being able to change starting decks was annoying, and without being able to modify cards the whole gameplay experience is just a lot less engaging. This game was overcooked in my opinion, the first act is enough to stand on it's own and thank god for modding.
@@mrRPGamers I mean I also disliked the gameplay of act 2 more than act 1, but I overall think that the greater narrative of the game went from just ''good'' to ''amazing'' with act 2 and 3 included.
Inscryption is a game I wish I could play for the first time again. It’s genuinely one of the most unique experiences I have ever had, and it’s something I wish everybody could play for the first time- I know a few people who watched Markiplier’s playthrough first, it’s kinda sad
I remember watching the first 10 minutes or so of Markipliers play through and thinking “No. I gotta play this on my own first.” Inscryption really brought me back into PC gaming it’s such a unique and special game
I watched Mark’s playthrough first, and honestly if I hadn’t I probably would’ve never picked up Inscryption. To me, I thought it was just another random game that was getting popular, but idk just seeing that Mark was the one of the only ones playing it all the way through made me realize that it may not be that bad. Even after watching him play it I still got the game and enjoyed it just as much as the first time seeing it, it’s just that good
@@kleinedraak9850He's only bringing up Markiplier because his playthrough made it so that a lot of people never got to experience the game on their own. That's what the dude thinks is sad. Not necessarily Markiplier's fault.
I absolutely love all of seanie's demeaning nicknames for leshy like "mr. leafy greens" and "ol' foulhands" and his general hatred for him, then hours later getting heartbroken over his battle in the final act. we all felt this. Amazing game can't wait for daniel mullins's next masterpiece
There's an overarching plotline about the devil throughout all of daniel mullins' games, so this isn't the first time he's shown himself lol. A lot of the gamefuna lore is in The Hex! Highly recommend all three of his games (Pony Island, The Hex, and this game, Inscryption!) There's also Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, which got teased in the first game and we got a trailer release a while back!
It's strange. Magnificus isn't a good person, in fact he's very rotten. But there's something about him blinking out before he could shake your hand, something tragic about it. I feel, strangely, that it's unfair. A bitter unfairness. Perhaps it's because I'm staring down a man about to die with his final wish unmet. It's all his own making, but it still doesn't feel right.
What i dislike about him the most is how he painted over the one who had given the painting to him in the first place. The little guy felt so exited and happy so it just hurt😢
@@VvTheScythevV I think torturing his students is more of a problem. I don't know how much of that is what he's become over the years and how much of it was programmed into him. The thing is, if you're struggling in Inscryption you'll see visions of this place and Magnificus will have painted clues for what you need to do next. It could just as easily be symbolic from Magnificus that Goobert was painted out, that he's gone now and the painting is left there as a reminder to you that it's all your fault that he's dead now.
shaking someone’s hand after a card game is a sign of good sportsmanship, every decent player does it. magnificus is so distraught because he can’t even perform the most basic common courtesy for his opponent. to him, he’s disrespecting both carder and the game he loves so dearly
I think a really fun detail with the uber bots is they obviously each represent one of the scribes. For the most part they're all pretty similar to their base scribe, except P03's, Golly, who it seems to actually hate for her naivety. This could mean that at some point in the past P03 was closer to Golly and at some point got some corrupting knowledge (most likely the old data) and becoming far more nihilistic. Actual lore implications? I dunno, just always found that a fun detail.
Fun fact: The mycologist and Amanda (the game dev who was at Luke’s door) are sado and Reggie from Daniel Mullins (the dude who made inscryption) previous game called the hex. Sado’s face appears over Amanda’s face in a frame in the ending, and the mycologists look and act similar the lynel, the guy who Reggie and his friend posses in the end of the hex.
Reggie and the others don't possess Lionel, Reggie strangles him. The Mycologist more closely resembles Jeremiah, Reggie's janitor and right hand man. In Act 3's secret Mycologist boss fight, he is played by Daniel Mullins, who also plays Lionel at the end of The Hex, so I understand the confusion.
I think its so cool how leshy quoted time in a bottle with “there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do once you’ve found them”
i am genuinely so happy to see someone else 100% the game :D its been my hyper fixation recently and i'm only a couple of kaycee's mod achievements away myself, can't wait to rise to the ranks of seanie when i 100% it :))
it's really fun but once you've done everything in the campaign and you've done skull storm you hit the point when you've done everything and then the game becomes boring
@abeautifulduwang its not that its boring, its that you've become so skilled that you've finally exhausted the game. And now its time to move on to the next
I got super lucky. I watched Markiplier series, but he stopped for like 3 months after ep 5, so I got tired of waiting for him and played it myself and was so surprised about the twists
This is game where you play as a dude playing a game, but the game he's playing is another dude's version of another game, which you then also play that game, and then 3 other versions of that game, and then go back and play a girl's version of the first dude's version of that game.
I love how you get to free the dude who becomes the wizbot image the torture of being stuck in a dark room wanting to be a card. Then you become a card only to be put in a dark drawer. The player finally gets to save you from it and he must be beyond happy to finally see light and anything other than darkness.
20:25 the fact that you could have gone to the mushrooms here and gotten a combined golden pelt to get a combined rare is crazy, too bad you didn't know about it at the time 36:00 the fact that you could have given them the two golden pelts to get a combined golden pelt and get a combined rare is crazy
@@strawb3rrymi1k_ SomeOrdinaryGamers did a video about it, you could watch it, but long story short, the money he was collecting for years never went anywhere it was just sitting on a bank account.
@@strawb3rrymi1k_ Super long story short : he kept the money from his foundation for years until someone found out and called him out. Magically, a few weeks after, the money was donated, but years later. Then he posted a video that is the epitome of gaslighting!
in the video after you can actually see the precise coordinates on the card (luke didn't read anything after the decimal point) and those lead to an actual location and it played a part in the ARG
Inscryption is such a great game. Also you don't have to use the Ring Worm for the campfire, any creature with Touch of Death works too (at least in Kaycee's Mod).
11:15 you can actually win this fight it just needs some setup(one easy solution but rng heavy is a wolf with mantis ability and 2 scissors I did that(after resetting since I knew that it would be cheesable) but there are also more easier methods) edit: forgot that you had to do that in Kaycee's mod so you knew that already. but you can still beat it first try I think there was even a easter egg for doing that.
Hey SeanieDew, I remember first finding your Stardew Valley content, and now that you’ve expanded to 100% content of so many loved games, you’ve become one of my favorite RU-vidrs! Every video is a must watch no matter how long. Keep up the good work
If you want another long, lore gane to 100%, i recommend NEO: The World Ends with You. It had a bunch of achievements, a "pokedex" like page that tracks every enemy you defeat, a ton of collectibales like cds, clothes, buttons, food. If youve ever attempted to 100% yakuza game, its probably similar. Its an rpg game with a time based combat system, each character has a cooldown within which theu do different attacks based on which button they have. Its not turn based so enemies attack wherever whenever. Its in a 3d arena, like dragonball zenoverse. Basically its a really cool game and probably a brutal 100%.
As much as I love the NEO:TWEWY, personally I wouldn't recommend Seanie 100%ing it, at least not without playing/doing a video on the original TWEWY first. Reason being although you CAN technically play the game without playing the first one, NEO's story has multiple huge reveals and plot points that will mean almost nothing to you if you didn't already play the original game. It's super hype with context but without it's kind of meaningless.
@nicoledegennaro2993 I don't have the original game 😅 I only recently found out it was a sequel actually. Probably should've mentioned that in this comment, but I wasn't gonna recommend a game I never played
0:37 Before even starting the video I would like to make a callback to a comment I made to a friend while listening to *”The Funny Cabin Man”’s* battle theme: _”A simple game of cards is all I want.”_ - *Something that Leshy would **_probably_** say.*
1:29:27 NOT TRUE!!! Luke completely smashed the floppy drive of inscription which held the old data. At the same time, it was being deleted, so even if they are able to piece back together the floppy disk the data is gone. Amanda even says it in the background after she shoots Luke, saying that he destroyed the disk. He destroyed the data after seeing what payed inside despite the warnings, destroying it while sacrificing his life for the cost of seeing it. I mean, Luke sadly probably would have ended up committing suicide from after seeing the old data anyway because of how traumatizing it is.
btw the archivist will not actually delete the file from your computer, it just puts a text file saying "At least... I tried to delete it. But it seems my powers of FILE ACCESS do not extend that far. Play by the rules you agreed to. Delete it yourself. Have an ounce of respect for the rules. Come on." and if you do actually delete it, po3 says "Wow, you actually deleted the file. Haha. Did you expect a reward?" also if you select pony islands exe (which is another Daniel Mullins game) po3 says "hat poor soul...how sad", for the hex he says "Lionel wanted...WHAT?!", and for inscryption he says "Wow. Be careful with that one!" another thing is that on the console versions it can't actually access the files, so it uses luke carders files, which gives some lore insights, as well as black screening the game if you select a system file and let it die.
the lucky carder: “i don’t know what i’m allowed to say. i don’t want to get in any trouble here.” also the lucky carder: immediately says something that would likely get him in trouble
I remember getting this day 1 after realising it’s a daniel mullins game and seeing the prototype “sacrifices must be made”. I’ve seen his work with pony island and Hex; I was not gonna miss this one.
I might be be hallucinating, but is that very very light “Cult of the Lamb” music??? I keep randomly hearing it between pauses😭 I also love Leshy now for some reason…
not hallucinating, the clearest example i can hear is from around 1:38:30 to 1:40:00 when Praise the Lamb is playing in the background! i can recognize that anywhere HAHA
Inscryption is one of my favourite games and I love it to death. I played it myself and watched Manlybadasshero as I played it so I never missed any secrets. A wonderful time. Also DO YOU DO NOT SPEAK ILL OF THE CUCKOO! I will not let my boy be slandered! Cuckoo is a really good card, it just needs some stat buffs to do more damage and off set any ravens. The magnifying glass is also not terrible, it’s pretty decent letting you start any fight with your wind condition.
I love Inscryption so much. I played back through the game and beat Leshy twice on the first and second go getting every mystery in the cabin before going to act 2 and doing everything there. Same with Act 3. I love this game...
I really like seeing you play story based games for this series. As for my suggestion, I have a couple, but the first one I'll put out there if you enjoyed this and other deck building roguelikes is Chrono Ark. It's a fun RPG Roguelike with a pretty good story, though you will have to do some youtuber magic like this game to keep it monetized!
57:51 ehh I i think eternity of solitary confinement with absolute lack of stimulation might just be slightly worse than a sacrifice. But I dunno never tried either
Id love If seanie 100% library of ruina, he would die trying tô do it, im pretty happy you 100% one of favorite games of ALL time! Its trully a master piece
I am sooo happy you played this!! My favorite game of all time that went pretty under the radar unfortunately. Hope more people play this after seeing your video!
I just now realized that on the wall to your left Leshy locked up the hammer and magnificuses staff. The hammer is present in all other acts and you can also use the gems in all other acts. Also, if you look closely after the end of act1 the corpses of Magnificus, Grimora and Po-3 are laying there inside those boxes.
Did this myself before watching the video and i have to say; i absolutely love that after countless attempts and hours put into getting skull storm & expecting some twist lore reveal, instead the last log sounding more like a message about the game from Daniel Mullins, that actually made me tear up a bit. What's better than the final puzzle piece in a fantastical story? A heartfelt message from the author explaining why he loves doing what he does & how grateful he is that we enjoyed it so much as to get to the end. God i love vibeo game ;^;
Love this video and only half way through! I honestly love all of his videos. I clicked on it at first hesitently because markiplier gave me such a wonderful experience with the game I didn't want to to be ruined or ddrag on but it surprisingly didn't! I had that happen a bit with the oxygen not included video but it was still good
For the egg deck, the Almalgam counts as every creature type, so you only need one copy of him and the rest of the numbers to fulfill the requirement for the egg. Also, there's a secret mechanic that can break the game if you are aware of it. The game is programmed so you will ALWAYS draw a card you can play in your opening hand. This means if you only have 1 1-cost card, you can guarantee that card will always be in your opener. This makes the Black Goat deck ridiculously good for completing challenges, because once you can get the undying trait on the goat you can steamroll every encounter by playing high powered creatures. Alternatively, a high power mantis or mantis god with an attack upgrade or two that is always in your opener will one-turn every encounter for you.
Fun thing, you can very much live through the “Too Fast, Too Soon” Wall of Grizzlies. During my first run through the game (Was alternating runs with my partner) I made it all the way to Leshy by taking only scissors as my items. Just cut away the Grizzlies to get through. My partner was questioning how the heck I managed it within my first run.
EXTREEMLY recommend Flawpeacock’s coverage of this game (and arg) if you’re interested in the lore and further theories. He’s covered all the previous Daniel Mullins games as well and his stuff is truly next level good.
Never thought I'd see this game on this channel, loved it. Truly one of my favourite games ever especially because I went into it without any expectations. I think it'd also be really fun to see you play pony Island, should also take a lot less time
Ouroboros gets really op when you use it to make a new card. I had 0 cost card with the trident ability that attacked for a ridiculous amount. It was an instant win anytime that card was drawn
The cool thing about this game is that it's supposed to be unfinished and unpolished storywise and it captures that perfectly by having the most broken abilities, cards, and combos. Like Ouroboros alone dominates the whole main story.
Fun Fact, by the end of the game story when Luke is shot by Amanda, for a split second, you can see a pixelated woman's face with a top hat on the woman face. She comes from another game called "The Hex", made from the same people who made this game. Both in and out universe
The devil doesn't necessarily refer to the actual devil, at least not in this game. His presence is there, but he wasn't the one who actually made the code, he just helped. If I remember correctly, the code awakens machines and programs, granting them sentience.
100% Tales of Arise. Yes, it’s a JRPG so it’ll be a bit long; but the Tales of series is very fun and Arise is an enjoyable experience all the way through. It may be long, but it won’t be frustrating so I hope you’ll consider it.
After finding your channel recently I can thoroughly say you do help bad thoughts no come in. Also love the content ❤ not just playing through the game but going over lore as well.
