I, too, was struck by the both the greenery and hilly nature of I-10 thru West Texas. Some of those cuts through the rocks are spectacular. One of my favorite stretches of rural freeway in the country. Thanks for putting this up; I'll be watching this one again sometime soon.
I now take this road when I go to Houston and San Antonio. Aside from the 80mph and the continuous freeway, it is quite a scenic road and I really enjoy the views from Sonora to Kerrville.
I have a lot of good memories with this road, as I have travelled it several times in the past decade going to between my current home (Orange County, CA) and my past home (Houston, TX). The part between Junction and Fort Stockton is really pretty.
I avoided most of the interstate when I drove through West Texas (on my way from Kentucky to California). I drove south from Austin to San Antonio, then west through Hondo to Eagle Pass to Del Rio, where I spent the night. From Del Rio, I cruised up US 90 to Alpine, then north on Highway 118 before catching Interstate 10 at Kent. Had I know the Interstate was this scenic, I may have opted to take it.
Ahh I remember this part of my x-country drive. Not as boring as New Mexico, & now that I look at it again I appreciate the beauty, whereas during my trip I was just "picking them up & putting them down" to get to Killeen/ Fort Hood as fast as possible.
Drove this last summer and encountered a couple of dust storms through there. I wasn't expecting those haha. It is definitely some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen while driving, personally. Guess I'm too accustomed to Appalachian mountains and trees? haha Great video!
I enjoyed your video. I use to travel from Junction to El Paso & to Phoenix. I think the scenery is awesome! I was always going out there quite often in the 1990's. My destination never really mattered that much. Just loved the country. Everything was cheap back in those days, & safer as well. So I'd often stay a month to six weeks out there. Loved every moment.
Great video, but why exactly are you driving in the passing lane the entire time? Is there some reason you are unable to follow the signs saying "Left lane for passing only," by putting your turn signal on briefly then moving over to the right lane?Someone even passed you on the right. But seriously, it was a great video otherwise. Beautiful landscape.
Great ride! It was as if I was actually there with the sun scorching like hell (lol). Hope to travel this area of I-10 at some part in my lifetime (lol). Again great job Screw.
Wow, I never knew that W. TX. could be so incredible! Look at all the mesa hills even in the foreground and backround! Amazing! Boring or not i still love love love this video!
Ahhh..now this is my neck of the woods. I have traveled this same journey many many times...very nice, but then it gets a little boring after Junction Texas. I love our speed limits in Texas, have you heard of the possible increase?
I make the drive between El Paso and San Antonio at least twice per year. I love the drive and I think it is very scenic, especially west of Fort Stockton.
@@nomadnametab Yes. Not as many gas stations or houses anywhere. There are several attractions though that are bound to catch someone's interest. I have stopped at Seminole Canyon State Park, At the Pecos river high bridge where there's a picnic area to the left if your heading west & stopped at the Judge Roy Bean visitors center. The mountains in Mexico which you can see from highway 90 is awesome. Aside from that there really isn't that much.
I love my west Texas home! I don't live in El Paso. Alot of my family does. I love it except right now. In a drought and sooooo many fires!! Praying for all the families
Yeah scary, especially when it's hard to drive certain areas alone. When I drive a long distance alone for the first time, I have to fight the 'no turning back' anxiety.
I remember the 277 from Del Rio to Sonora.. Then we take the 10 to Ozona.. We take other road the take you to Big Lake, use to live in Garden City.. Now I'm in Wisconsin.. But Texas it what I Love.
That's when travelers come off of the end of westbound I-20 onto westbound I-10, and then they have to use that left exit from westbound I-10 if they decide to go to eastbound I-10. It's a little strange how they did that, but that's what it is.
i love this song of highway I-10w A Trip Through West Texas I-10w A Trip Through West Texas ScrewdUPClickV2 I-10w A Trip Through West Texas ScrewdUPClickV2
Ha, i used to live directly off I-10 in Leon Springs, TX (in between Boerne and SA). Hill Country is nice, but after that..... The short drive from San Antonio to Corpus Christi is equally boring.
gshunw went to vacation to Vegas and arizona seen my first 85 mph road with not a single car on the road, shit looked fun to drive. I cant even drive 5 miles without sitting in traffic for a half hour and almost getting into a fight with someone
***** fuck you pickup truck drivers, youre prob a highway driver come drive in nyc youll get tailgated lights flashed at you , cut off , cursed at and if you dont like it you better be ready to road rage fight
***** where in nyc? youre prob thinking of manhatten , manhatten aint nothing but cabbies come to downtown brooklyn / flatbush area guaranteed you get into a fght or almost get into a fight i almost fight these jerkoffs everyday and liberals banned guns here lol
6:37, going in the opposite direction is the checkpoint, I will always loathe and detest it, I got detained for 35 minutes on Labor day weekend there. All I did was take out my driver license to display it to the agent and another agent freaked out on me and 7-8 agents searched me. 1 frisked me. When I came back to El Paso from San Antonio, I took out my middle finger on westbound I-10 while going 80 mph in my rental car.
the drive through west texas is the most boring ride I've even been in. riding from dallas to el paso and el paso to dallas is one hell of a boring ride
