This is the craziest vid i've seen in 2019 YTD...what, a $40k car chasing and passing a $250k car? Simply unreal. Props to the i30N driver...performed admirably
I must be an amazing driver because I've passed several Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Caterhams and a even a McLaren. I shot past them in my little runaround. They were soon specks in my rear view mirror. Obviously they were all too scared to even try catching up, given my obvious talent. Strangely, they were all parked at the time, but hey, I sure showed them who's the best as I passed them. 🙄
Aaah.. 2019. A year when Hyundai hatchbacks are living it up on the racetracks. Amazing driver and talk about a great performance car! Only have the Elantra GT N Line here in the States so hopefully it is even 80% as good as the i30N. : ) If not Veloster N for me!
A great lap to watch. Proves 3 points: a. Modern hot hatches are so fast that even supercar drivers can't sniff at them. b. They can apply throttle as early as rear-drive cars on corner exit. c. The driver matters as much (if not more) as the car.
You're misreading it completely. This video is a testament to the driver not the car. If the same driver was setting a lap in that GT3 the hatch would see it once (the pass) and it would disappear into the distance never to be seen again.
@@phannypack3951 i thinik he means hot hatches are no where near as fast as that porsche or any supercar...also what do you mean by asking if he knows how grip works?
@@phannypack3951 Yes, please enlighten us as to how "grip works". I'd be interested to hear your version, explaining how "grip works" differently on a Porsche than it does on a Hiyundai. Is it 'cos Porsches have more fizzics 'n stuff?
Very nice driving, very nice, strong and well balanced car.Hyundai started building its myth from the fist years of 2000 but many weren't able to start realizing this.Of course now they are in a totally different level.I'm proud for my fathers hyundai accent 2001 model.
Sehr sehr geil! **Daumen hoch** Für ein komplett serienmäßiges Kompaktklasse Hot Hatch fährt die Kiste richtig gut. Fahrer ist natürlich die Voraussetzung. ;)
Porsche on a leisure drive followed by a crazy Hyundai giving his last to catch up. ^^ But joke aside... the Hyundai-Driver knows how to drive his I30N. :)
i30N سيارة ممتازة وسواق محترف GT3 سيارة قوية جدا وثبات في المتحنيات وملكة السرعة بلا منازع وقائدها كاد ان يفوز لولا السيارة التي اعترضت مساره. Thanks for the channel owner
WoW Cada vez me encanta más este coche, el Hyundi I30 N, los coreanos lo están haciendo muy bien, buen diseño, caracter deportivo y encima son cómodos!! por no decir que el precio es genial!
We're living in a time when a Suzuki can chase a Porshe. I chased and passed a modern Porsche 911 in my little Suzuki. It was hard work... he was doing at least 30mph, but I passed him at close to 40mph, because that was the speed limit on that road. But then he turned off the road in to a driveway. Obviously, he knew I had the better car, so he just gave up. Or maybe not. 🙄
I’m in the USA so we don’t get the I 30 we get the Veloster N. I’ll be looking at one of them in a year or two. This CV19 stuff is putting a fly in the ointment rite now our economy and car sales are all screwed up. Hope this get better for everybody all around the world!!! I worked for Hyundai/Genesis for 5 years before I retired from the car business. Sold Luxury cars before that for 15 years until Obama screws up our economy, luxury car sales went in the dumps! Then I saw what Hyundai was producing with their new Sonata, WOW!!! Sexy and cheep to buy, so I started to investigate the brand and found they were making great cars for the value they offered. So I decided to make the jump to Hyundai/Genesis!! The Dealer I chose was excellent in the CSI department! They treated the customers rite!!!! Bingo, I found my new home! Sold for them for 5 years then retired from the business sales margins/commissions had been dropping over the years and I was tired of the long hours and working every weekend, I still miss my dealer and my customers but not the long hours and working every weekend! Bought my wife an Elantra Limited before I retired and we still have it today. It has been 100% perfect. It has only needed regular maintenance, it has never needed warranty work!! About to turn 60K miles now. It’s a 2015.
Great driving. But the porsche was not racing. At best, he was analysing and heating the car up for a hot lap. In full race mode, that Porsche would leave the i30n in the dust.
@@WingManDK Wrong, the Driver behind the weel lost ;) not the car .. with the right driver you make in this porsche 2 laps in the same time the hyundai makes one :D
@@WingManDK LOL .. i dont understand what you talking about dude .. LOL .. but its OK ;) .. LOL .. Go on dreaming about a 280 hp car can beat a GT3 on the Nordschleife :D LOL .. ridicoules .. LOL
Except the little car can't. The Porsche is a much more capable car on track. Just because the Porsche wasn't being driven to it's full potential, doesn't mean the Kia is it's equal. That's not a criticism of the Kia, it's just not comparable to the Porsche in that sense. It certainly has the Porsche beaten in terms of everyday, family transport.
@@yourmanzach2307 better equipped for daily driving also. And the price is about 5k less. If you get a sport and not the i30 you could save 18k and just soup the engine up or pay the car off(we know most if not all people finance, and then say they own it).
No I actually believe that was the sound of the i30n... if it senses that ur about make a mistake in shifting it makes that noise same as in the veloster
Pretty impressive from the Euro Hyundai. I like the way it behaves when the corner is taken too fast - a bit of understeer corrected by throttle planting without sudden oversteer. As for the Porsche, a much better car in the hands of a driver not intent on the ultimate lap.
Old mate in the i30n is a fantastic driver, but that Porsche was just running a lazy lap, or it’s their first time out and they’re learning. You could see just how quickly the gt3 gapped him once the power went down on the straights. Apparently the gt3 was on a cool down lap 😂 the title of this video is oh so very wrong. The i30 still had that much trouble, while the Porsche was legitimately just trying to cool off some heat.
Kein Vergleich zum GT3 ! Bei gleichwertigen Fahrern ist der GT3 klar vorne. Doch Respekt, tolle Fahrt im i30N, hätte ich für die Preisklasse nicht erwartet.
I wonder how much longer the i30N could keep it up, the GT3 would keep going for several fuel stops. Excellent driver in the i30N, next vid him in the GT3 please!
Nice Job Man! Hiw do you feel the car?! I am just plannin change my Leon Fr... What is the oil temp during track day?! Maximum temp?! Brakes?! Any fade?! Is it feel like a proper tracktool and daily?! I think you made this lap on OE tyres not on semi slicks!!! Waiting for your feedback!
He posted a comment in German that says: Even with turned of ESP the car is really controlled.... The engine revs smooth truth the hole rev range and the power is easy to dose. One the Nordschleife he got the car in custom mode and the suspension in Street mode. The brakes had no fading at all. Really good bag for the Bug! He will probably will upgrade the power during the winter.
