Literally fell in love with your vlogs because of the coveted octo-crab series, even some buddies and I play the octocrab game (72 game) as inspired by the story when it cracked your top Set of AA in your early vlogs, please never let it die I crack up every time
Hey Ben, I have two comments about long poker sessions, both from my early days: (1) Just a month or two after I started playing poker, I was at a table at Ocean's 11 with a guy who said he had been playing poker for 4 or 5 straight days. He was the grumpiest, most irritable person at the table, and even I, who wasn't that good at that point, was able to beat him. (2) The longest poker session I ever had was 22 hours at Hollywood Park. This was over 2 years later. I still wasn't all that good, and of course, I did lousy. It was one of the worst poker sessions I ever had, and I also vowed never to do that again. My poker sessions haven't come close to that long since then, and I dare say,I've gotten a lot better since those days.
Anytime I get to have the chance to vacation in a mountain town, I find that as an older version of myself appears in the mirror these days, that getting 20 minutes of cardio before gearing up makes a huge difference in the beating that my body takes. Also, lots of braces, wraps, and athletic tape to choose from these days. Have fun! Don't forget to go with a resistance setting that will be forgiving when just starting back on skis.⛄❄🧦
get good at hockey stopping , bend at the knees , flex into your boot with your shin to turn, right shin flex for a left turn , left shin flex into boot for a right turn. GL!
There's a guy at my home casino Coconut Creek we call Sleepy Joe. This dude never plays for less than 24 hours. Very often he plays into the third day in a row. He said his longest session was 96 hours which I do not doubt at all.
I think I know him..he played at Seneca Poker Room( Niagara Falls ,NY) in the early 2000's ...Three days was nothing for him ..finally his Mom had him ban himself...I always wondered what happened to him ..Nice dude
"Not exactly known for his passivity" should be my epitaph. P.S. I had AsJs in that hand. If I hadn't made top pair on the turn, I would have probably shoved.
I guess Ben Deach has a really narrow range here going for a big size on the flop oop/multiway and 0 bluffs lol so just calling makes a lot of sense. Not really a fan of the way the hand was played by Ben. Against good opponents they are just going to fold a lot and call or raise when Ben is beat. A hand like KQo in the hands of a good player would be inclined to fold already on the flop against a big bet.
Hi Ben, I love your vlog because you don’t try to pretty it up like some of the others. I visited Reno from LA last week and I have to give it to you for playing in the Peppermill games “they suck” and I am not talking about the house. Nothing but daily grinders and OMCs sorry but I will never play there again.
Man, so far u have had the octo-crab cracked ur pocket aces and now kings, I think ur vlog should b called, a cracken jacks production cracked with the octo-crab!
I remember that 3 8 hand. I was there playing with you. That table was juicyyyy I am the guy with tattoos Btw- those 2 hands that I bet big I had the wheel and other hand I flopped top 2
I hate bomb pots too. In Texas they charge by time and not rake. They play PLO double board bomb pots, every dealer change, and also some other times too. These always chew up a lot of time with lots of all ins and split pots as often the dealer spends a great deal of time doling out the various side pots to various players. Often 1/2 the time is devoted to these hands. I simply won’t play in this game.
Villain’s play in AA>QQ 5:18 is questionable. Why call the 4 bet pre to fold to continuation bet? Hero’s range more likely to have hands Villain is ahead of on flop (16 combos AK v 6 combos AA and 6 Kk). I think flop call and turn reevaluate proper. If Villain has good read / nitty fold (ie, believing hero only 4 bets with KKs plus) then preflop fold is proper exploit as QQ are no better than set mining deuces if Villain believes Hero weighted to KKs+. Call 4 bet to only fold on flop seems like worst option. I do think Hero has leak of having imbalance 3 and 4 betting range. Hero’s videos do seem to suggest 4 bets only with KKs plus. Hero in general seems to call raises more and appears to reraise less on the bottom of range / blocker hands. I think Villain had right exploit but deployed it on street to late on flop instead of preflop.
I don't necessarily disagree with the AK check on the river. Front door straight got there. Back door flush got there (though rare). I think check/call was the right idea there
Thought about you when I lost this hand... I have AsKh AdJcTd flop and I bet $200 into about $200, I get raised to $500 and call Qd, I jam for $900 effective thinking he has AT or AJ, he calls off all his chips - I ask... you have the flush? Kd, he says "now I do" He shows AhJd
We gotta talk about that AA vs QQ hand. You said you were playing 5 handed and proceed to reraise the guy on the button that raised your $30 to $80. 1st what are you afraid of/put him on to 4 bet? Doesn't this show your opponent extreme... I mean EXTREME strength here 5 handed? With him holding QQ he is definitely putting you on KK, AK, or AA. Thus, when you bet out on the flop on a dry board he knows you have the goods. It would have been better to just call his 3bet preflop, check to him on the flop to continue to under rep your hand. This is how you will make more money on your big hands in these spots, especially short handed.
If you’ve never played for 3 days straight you’ve never been in a _really_ good game. The casino may be open the next day but some line ups/circumstances only come once in a blue moon.
Please push that game. Three dollar blind with a five dollar straddle. I love that game. That’s what I play at my home, cardroom the oaks which you know very well…
I really hope they add the $0/3/5 straddle game, $0/2 is too boring and the 0/5/10 is too big for me. Need a game where I can buy in for $500-1000 and not be covered by the entire table with $3-5k.
Hope your skiing works out for you. I didn't learn it till age 29, but then enjoyed it until age 60 when I retired from it with no injuries. I must say that skiing had no influence on my gayness. I was neither more or less gay. 🙃
Damn someone calling a 4b with QQ and folding to a single bet on a T high flop is terrible. You must play tight as hell! Should 4b bluff more and pile in with air sometimes
I was lucky enough to catch your VLOG early on. I have seen every one and a Sunday must see for me. My observation however is their has been tension with you and Kayla that seemed to coincide with a recent change in your life. Stay true to you Big Ben. Its your natural personality that made me a fan and Kayla is must see as well. Good luck keeping everyone happy!!
LOVED the best #Anchorman #Kolo8 attempting his best imitations of #CrankYankers to open the vlog. Hopefully you got your #rebuy question answered. If you pray to Jesus, he might get you out of #pokerpurgatory!
You have two options the way I see it... 1. Fold the girlfriend and wait for a better hand. 2. Get better medical insurance..,. You're kind of flipping at best, which for a player of your level is always actually a loss. Sorry.
