Starting in Kansas and heading eastbound through KC along I-70 via the viaduct and I-670. Music by Dillon Francis - Beautician 2.0 The route was filmed in June 2011. eluko79
Another great piece of work on this. I just came to the realization that I've never seen I-70, west of I-635 and east of Lawrence. Looks like KSDOT did a nice job with their stretch of I-70. On a side note, I think the KC skyline is one of the most underrated ones in America. It's got a nice mix of modern skyscrapers and historic art deco towers.
Did you ever think about how maybe 100 years from now, your videos could be in a museum to show how the highway system used to be and what these cities used to look like?
Awesome video of I-70! FYI, if you're ever headed east on I-70 coming out of the downtown loop, some great barbecue can be had by exiting at Brooklyn. Turn right and head south and you'll run into Arthur Bryants. Turn left and head north, that will take you to Gates & Sons. Bring your appetite.
it seems to go very fast from like 15th street down south to 31st and even a little farther south than that on I-70. I mean, one minute your level with downtown at around 15th or so and the next you're south of 31st!
Hey I really love your videos can you maybe post a link of the video where you played strange way in the video I forgot which one was it I can't find it. It will be of great help if you did it please thanks
Is this ever a familiar route, I traveled this exact same route every day to work for many years from Kansas to the Hwy 40 east exit. I wish I could have gone this fast I would never have been late.
I remember one day after school we were going to Golden Corral past the stadiums and I remember there was a red ford ranger and his trailer was lose and hit our car on the bridge past van brunt highway and before the i-435 I-70 interchange and the red ranger when to its side on the left side of the bridge and I remember a fire truck ambulance were their and a policeman or fireman was talking to me ahhh memories
I-70 just may be improved to three lanes each direction across the state, with some other improvements in Kansas City, if the transportation tax is passed. I will try to get a before film next summer (I am bogged down by I-72 this year)
I-70 needs to be expanded period! You've got an interstate that spans Pittsburgh to Denver, hitting St Louis, Indianapolis, Topeka and Columbus along the way, so it's going to have a crazy number of semis who for whatever reason LOVE to pass each other at the last moment, right as small cars approach! If it were 3 lanes the entire way, semis wouldn't be causing so many accidents on it!
