It is both encouraging and daunting to see someone that knows much more about plants than I do having issues with their plants 😂

I am too very sorry for your loss. I rarely find English limiting, but in Hungary we usually use a word which means I am / I’d like to share your burden and there with you. Probably there is nothing that can give any real comfort at the moment, at that is totally natural. Take your time, Claire and listen to your feelings just as you did in the video. You are such a wonderful human being and your Gran lives through the light that you bring into the world and that you share with us so gracefully, honestly and authentically.

Hi Claire, love all your videos! So sorry for your loss - I experienced the same mixed emotions when I lost my 94 y/o grandma who had severe Alzheimer’s for the last 3-4 yrs of her life. It is such a complicated and weird feeling to have mourned someone before they’ve actually passed and feel like you’re prepared for the day they actually do pass away, only to experience a whole new wave of emotions when that day comes. I really appreciate how open you are about your feelings and mental health etc on your channel, it truly makes your content stand out because you are so relatable :) Would love to see a hanging plants tour! Also, I totally agree- getting the roots finally untangled is one of the best feelings! So satisfying haha. I’ve found that soaking the plant’s root ball in warm soapy water helps to loosen soil/moss to make it easier to tease apart without suffering as much root damage.

I’m so sorry about your gran Claire, I lost my grandma in 2020 and I still miss her everyday, she was 92, and it was also her time to go, she talked very often about how she wanted to go and be with my grandad, but one thing she said to me was “I don’t want you to mourn me when I’m gone, I just want you to remember me” and I’m sure your gran would have felt the same, don’t be sad, I know it’s hard, but you will carry her with you forever! Sending lots of love ❤️ xx

There’s a company here in Spain called MiniPlanta where you get baby plants from €5 for most, up to €13 for a Pink Princess Philodendron baby. As a newbie, I find it lower risk to get something a little more rare at a reasonable price.

Honestly asked "How are you?" is a hard question when everything is not ok. It easily leads to a mini break down. But it's also a great wake up when you are trying too hard to keep it together and bottle up. It releases the feelings and can make you realize that it's time to stop and give yourself a break. It was brave of you to leave the footage of your raw feelings. It definately helps people to see that influencers have real problems too and life is never just what you see in short videos.

Sorry about your grandma. About your labisia chop all the dried leaves, if there’s still any healthy part of the leaf you can also propagate from that planting the cut side i to moss and kepping it in a closed container for high humidity. It takes a looooong time but it works. and yes you can do stem propagation, i prefer to do it in moss. More chance to root less chance of rot.
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven 2 года назад

So sorry for your loss claire, sending hugs 🤗🤗 It was great to see your efforts with the trellising, if you want more stability wrap one end of the wire around a stick to place in the soil then you can get more creative with your shapes. I use mine in self watering pots so to get stability with those I hook one end of the wire through one of the holes in the inner pot. I hope this makes sense. I am in the same situation as you, we have sold our house and had an offer accepted on a house and the doing the paperwork is so stressful as it's all digital which I thought would be easier but no it's a real pain. I'm generally ok with computer stuff however all this online stuff is making me feel dumb 😞😞 I shall be following your moving journey to see how you pack up and move so many plants, I shall be moving 250+ myself...oh joy. I keep imagining the new neighbours' reactions when they see so many plants 🤣🤣

A week and a half is not enough time to declare a mealybug infestation over - they can live for 2-3 weeks without access to a host plant... They are *very* sneaky, they'll hide anywhere & everywhere (not just _on_ plants). I'd guess that they're on everything in your cabinet if that's where you've already found some...

Although there's certain things you can do (using pon for example with a water reservoir is great), I would personally get someone to come in and check on them if possible, as a month is a long time. I've heard of people doing "plant sitter" services before, so maybe have a look around and see if you can get something in place halfway through your trip 💚

What is the point of covering your plants with anything when you get mealy bugs? Why not directly use a q-tip and dab it with rubbing alcohol?
