For everyone who fell for the trap and bought bootleg figures, once they arrive you can message the seller through Amazons messaging system and request a refund for the product not being the original. They will usually refund you and let you keep the bootleg figure. Stay safe out there c:
I had a similar experience buying from ebay, for a Cardcaptor Sakura nendoroid. The seller deleted their account shortly after, and though the 'nendoroid' arrived, it was definitely bootleg. Thankfully, Ebay completely refunded it for me when I raised the issue.
If you’re ever looking for cheap nendoroids, I usually go to Mandarake or FromJapan. I bought a Nezuko Nendoroid for roughly 35 dollars. (The box had water damage on the bottom, but overall, perfect figure). Middle men in Japan are life savers!
I usually use Aimami or Tokyo Otaku Mode, but usually I prefer amiami as you can find much older nendoroids and other figures for reasonable prices, sometimes cheap. These usually will be pre-owned, but since its coming from Japan most of the time the figures are in excellent condition. One of my nendoroids is a pre-owned. Sadly I fucked my Mami Tomoe's original leg and the joint got stuck. :/ Still for pre-own she is in really good shape...other than the leg. XD
This happened to me... I always heard Amazon had strict policies to bootlegs, even able to refund your money. Unfortunately for me, I bought a nendoroid through Amazon JP so I ended up buying a trashy bootleg for $50 when you can find the EXACT SAME bootleg for not less than $15. I've never felt so sad and mad.
I don't know about JP Amazon policies but from the two bootlegs I received, I was able to get both of them refunded. I hope next time you are able to refund your bootlegs :c
I got a Zenitsu bootleg nendoriod (without knowing it was an fake) and to be completely honest I was shocked it wasn't completely horrible but I would much rather order from goodsmile and support the original company instead of these bootlegs (also don't worry I know other people said this but not all nendoriods are fake on amazon I bought a Himiko Toga nendoriod and its authentic!)
I’m semi new to figure collecting myself ,and here’s some tips I’ve learned. When buying off amazon always look at the reviews. If it’s a bootleg ,most likely someone will say so in the comments. If it has no reviews at all don’t trust it. On eBay always look to see where the figures are coming from. If it’s from China ,there is a 9/10 chance it’s a bootleg. Always buy from a Japanese seller. It doesn’t guarantee anything ,but it’s less likely you’ll get scammed. If it’s a seller from somewhere else like America ,or Canada. Just look at the seller info. how many positive reviews do they have ,or how long have they been a seller for? After looking at that just go with your gut. And last ,look for credible figures selling sites. One of my favorites is AmiAmi. You can look for used figures for cheap and it’s 100% guaranteed authentic. Just make sure to read the sellers descriptions. sometime used figures can be damaged and they will usually say so if it is. I have collected quite a few figures since I started ,and so far all of them have been authentic to my knowledge lol.
For anyone trying to buy a nendo on any site like Amazon on eBay, if the price is even within the 30's for a nendo, be weary. The more parts a nendo has, the more expensive it is meant to be, also read along the items full description, a lot of times sellers won't mention it themselves but will where it says "manufacturer country" but that can be tricky since a majority of nendo's are actually made in China. As far as my Amazon and nendo experience, I've only bought from Amazon's storefront and of course, reading through the ratings if any. Luckily, om these sites, you can get a full refund most of the times.
Buying figures on amazon or ebay is a bit risky but still possible. First rule seller must be located in Japan and not china , then good reviews. I stick to solaris japan or amami preowned (cheap ones) safer
Can also do Ukiyokumo or Goodsmile themselves. There are legit figures on Amazon, just need to know what prices the figures are usually priced and the reviews are good from the seller. The only complaint I have with Amazon is the packaging isn't good so the boxes come a bit scuffed on the edges
Ive bought ram ,ameila and recently rem off of amazon. All are real but VERY expensive. Atleast $85 for each. But in the end It was prime so no complaints there. Youll never get a good deal on amazon.
I’m a year late but since my parents don’t really trust other websites what I do is make sure the price is more on the expensive side and make sure there’s a bit of reviews. If there’s a review that shows the photo of the box I search up on RU-vid of the unboxing and then make sure the box is the same if it’s not then it’s most likely a fake. But if there’s only like 3 reviews no picture but it’s on the expensive side you have to take a chance if you want it that much.
If you aren't too big into detail and just some quality of life things such as easy to put on the stance and parts don't fall off with light pressure, then by all means. For me, I would pay the extra bit for it to work as intended and have a company to complain to if they did mess up an actual figure but for any one else is up to them. I just dislike when they sell it as the authentic to get people to buy when it isn't c:
Omg I bought that same one and I got a bootleg as well, the box was seriously damaged, I cant put her mad face in the huddie, she was really dusty, the stands did not work properly I had to give her a back up and the tiny ones did not even fin in the platform and couldn't even hold itself up. And the paint job on some places are not good and her legs and waist easily come off and I cant even put her on her stand without her head looking down with her hair out because the stick is in the way, and I got it in Amazon for 20.
I bought a Gon and Killua Nendoroid from Amazon. The brand was FREEing. And it was official. I had my eyes on Gon for my birthday, it was like, 80. Then I check and it’s 30. Those bastards gave me a shitty beat up boxed non branded Gon. I would be fine with it if the neck joint went into the figure instead of just bulging out.
Yes, that is how I fell for them. Request a refund for not selling you the official figure. They should get you the refund and let you keep the figure! Good luck!
All depends on the person. Some people think they are worth but they all come with their own little issues. I'll recommend real Nendoroids but in the end it's up to the person. I just dislike that on Amazon they put them as selling the real thing when it's not
I’m very strict on when I buy nendos from Amazon, It has to have 5-4 1/2 stars at the LOWEST and it has to be within 50-150 dollars USD, I may sound picky but all three I got are authentic and beautiful
I see people review bombing Nendoroid listings on Amazon when they receive a fake. Most of the listings are legit. But what people don’t realize is that while the listing is real, you need to check the source you’re buying from. First of all price. Obviously if it’s well below retail its fake. Two, if the seller has weird encoded business names and is recently launched, just don’t buy it please. Edit: Usually Nendoroids are actually well above $50 after launch. It depends some of them can stay around retail if they don’t sell enough. The only time you’ll ever run the risk of getting a fake is if you throw it into the cart without checking.
yeah, my mom once bought my dad a Levi ackerman nendoroid on amazon and it was a actual jumpscare. the best places to buy nendoroids are on official Japanese figure websites. so sorry you got scammed!
Purposely buying bootleg is fine but getting scammed and charged original price for a bootleg is a different matter....good thing I bought authentic and bootleg on my own Accord
I remember purchasing a Lion Dance Miku nendoroid a year ago and the price was pretty good ( almost 35$ ). I was unfortunately scammed with a bootleg version after all, and little did I know, the Lion Dance Miku is sold for a higher price.
Yeah, that is much different. Knowing you are paying for a less quality item because you want to rather than thinking you are buying an original for it to turn out to be bootleg. It was more to show, if the prices seems too good to be true, it most likely is
I also bought an Emilia from Amazon for $95. They sent me the wrong item at first(Amazon brand Mac and cheese), so I sent it back so they can send me the real one. Yay 😄! Until three months later the seller claims they have not received the returned product so they charged me another $95 and I didn’t have the tracking to prove I sent it so ended up paying $190 overall. Another experience, I bought a Mai Sakurajima figure by Freeing as stated on the site, but they sent me a bootleg. I contacted them for a refund or else I’ll file a claim for false advertising and so they sent a refund and I get to keep the figure. I’m selling it btw because I know some people wouldn’t mind bootlegs
Do you mean you are buying them from Goodsmile or Goodsmile figures on Amazon? They should be real but the ones ranging around $45, you might want to check the sellers reviews to see if people have bought from them and have left good reviews. Hope this helps c:
I got a josuke nendoroid on Amazon from MediCos which made jojo figures and partners with nendoroid I'm waiting for it I'm scared if it's fake due to the reviews
If it was retail price, it will probably be real. Amazon sellers don't need to make a new page for the same product so you probably bought from a real seller and the fake ones flooded now
i bought 2 bootlegs and got refund back in both cases but they are horrible that its not worth even keeping , the fun in posing is gone because the Joints are so garbage
I think I got two bootleg Anime figures ... From Amazon and I'm big sad :( cause I thought they were legit but upon researching I realized both may be fake
Crunchyroll store, Good smile, Lunar Toy Store, Otakumode and any other reputable store. I know there is a site called like figure collection that has different trusted sites as well. Hope this helps c:
About $50 when new on retail. When bought aftermarket (Ebay, Mercari, etc.) they are usually sold for about $100 (double retail price). Hope this helped
Try to get your money back by saying it is a bootleg when it arrives, of course if it is a bootleg. They usually give you a refund and let you keep the figure c:
Could be true that bootlegs have always been around for figures. I got into collecting not so long ago so I didn't know about it. Looking at the seller is key to finding if it's bootleg as well as the price. Amazon does sell legit, it's just the system they have makes it so people who buy from real sellers leave good reviews and then new sellers selling bootlegs come in and say they are selling that product, so then people think the reviews are for them.
Look at the sellers. Most likely they will still be bootleg as the originals range around $50+ dollars. Unless it is a pre-owned figure I wouldn't trust it. Best thing to do is know the retail price of the figure to use as a gauge and click on the sellers information to see what their reviews are and if they are new. Hope this helped c:
@@riggybubs2158 oh i already decided that I'm not ganna buy them i just bought key chains instead but i just got some money rn and i am able to buy a real one but thanks to your video i had second thoughts thank you very much🙏
Sorry about the late reply, wasn't notified >.< Yes currently the re:zero nendoroids are not in stock but might have another rerelease. Can buy them new in the after market for about $100 or so each. Hope you enjoy your purchases ^^ At the end of the day, it is about what you enjoy having c:
for me personally i dont collect nendroids , but i had some i would never replace anything with a bootleg part. Keep your collection real people fuck bootlegs. If you cant afford the real thing dont bother to start collecting. I payed 310 euros for my Bunnygirl Kurumi and would never think about buying a fucking bootleg for 50 euros or something.
