Heres my 2nd devlog! Here I talk about a new boss I'm working on, a new enemy, and some texture changes!

Came here from metroidvania subreddit and first of all good on you for coming this far you really do have talent and or obviously passionate. Making bossfights based around the players current move set is a good idea for sure I would also try to make each boss have a style of attack that is based on their personality. As far as textures and the look of the game for me it doesn't really matter much how a game looks it's all about how it feels to control my character and the gameplay loop plus the varof mechanics. One tip. which you might already know is to take your character into an empty room maybe with some elevated platforms but that's all and just move and jump around to see how it feels and if it enjoyable to be that character and if you can get that downpat you are on your way to making a top tier work of interactive art. It is great that you are seeking input from the community and you should definitely keep doing that while keeping a open mind however I would warn about listening too much to people's solutions but rather focus on what they are not happy with and how you can address that while still keeping the within your vision. As I said I'm not one for looks as long as it plays well I'm happy however there are many many others who will not even give a game a chance to win them over if the presentation doesn't peak their interest. So try where you can to at present the best looking parts of your game when it comes time for marketing this obviously depends on if you are trying to make a profitable game or it is more important that you just get it made and in the way that you love, it is very hard to do both but not impossible. Sorry I'm going bit farinto the future lol there is just so much to think about and do when making a game and I always want indie devs to succeed. Make this game "your" game with your vision again great work so far and I wish you nothing but the very best of luck going forward, weather for this game or just life in general always stay as true to yourself as you can and keep doing what you love, good on you mate👍🙂

I really appreciate the thought-out and detailed response, and thank you for the kind words. I'm pretty happy with how the movement in my game is feeling. For me, the hard part is designing levels and enemies around that, but I think I'm getting better at it. I think your idea of having a signature move of the boss with their personality is a really good idea, so I'll definitely consider that when working on those bosses. I will definitely take advice in moderation :D. Thanks again! Hope you stick around for future dev logs!

Thanks so much for the kind words! I delve a little bit more into the story in my first devlog, but the main idea of it is that you're an angel who was watching over a human. You were waiting for them to enter heaven, but god sends them to hell. Now its up to you to go through heaven, purgatory, and hell to save them. Im hoping I can start working on some cutscenes soon!

Your game is incredible bro, if I were to give you any tip from a viewers perspective, I would tell you to maybe shorten the video or change the frame a bit more to keep the people with shorter attention spans

Thanks for the advice! I Imagine the videos might get a little bit shorter naturally as I doubt I'll be able to put as much content into each video, but who knows. I might also start making shorts!
