To be honest i think a good buff to chasity while still keeping the concept would be that you can select ONE familiar to keep and they get a bff effect unless you pick another one up it keeps the theme while buffing it so you can have a "partner" of sorts
These are really awesome! I love the whole overarching idea of a good bonus at the price of you having to abide by the virtue's characteristic! Kindness is my favorite, it creates a very interesting dilemma that would make me think twice before mindlessly killing beggars and shopkeepers!
I like the concept behind diligence, but dislike chastity, which is underpowered in my opinion. Suggestions: maybe patience could keep going, granting more stats every 30 seconds in an uncleared room? maybe have kindness reset if you dont spare other things (like plum)?
originally Chastity gave +0.1x instead of +0.07x because I thought it's too overpowered. but now that you're saying it's underpowered I might revert that. I don't like your idea with patience, once is enough. and the baby plum thing is way too specific but I could do that just as an easter egg
@@haemolacrian Its closest counterpart in Sacrificial Altar gives 2 Devil items for two familiars- seems like a much better trade than +0.14x damage. Maybe not picking up familiars in the future could be a carrot instead of a stick- where moving on to the next floor while leaving familiar items behind gives a reward. Honestly though, I really appreciate when mods add items that aren't very good! They may not be fun to see in a run, but the Mom's Bras and Dataminers of the world are essential to the character of the game. As a developer, would you say that bad items are less fun to make than good ones?
@@spencerfair7505 an item can be both fun and good, it's not mutually exclusive and I think +0.14x is good. it's a multiplier, it stacks with your damage ups, sacrificial altar only allows for sacrificing 2 items, while chastity can do up to 25 familiars.
Just a thought, but perhaps sacrificing certain familiars could give you an aspect of them? Like sacrificing freezer baby gives you ice tears. Could take away from the point of the item, but I digress.

awesome mod! will definetely use it! my favorite here is charity, really cool idea and execution. One thing i do not like that much is chastity, it just seems a bit underpowered to be. I'd increase the damage boost as getting rid of familiars can be quite a sacrifice and the pretty low damage boost does not reflect that. Other than that i really enjoy these!
My personal rank from best to worse: 1.Temperence: to be honest I really like this item idea, being a high risk high reward on your speed. 2.Diligence: pretty unique item, and kinda very strong I like the visual indicator. 3.Charity: i love this kind of item because makes money that usually in the womb and higher pretty much useless. 4.Chastity: well sick of useless familiars ? hope you don't erase your best friends. 5.Patience: this one sounds like more of a niche item, but I can find very good use for it. 6.Kindness: i feel like this item give you too low of a reward to be useful, in this game you already got too many pick-ups, more that you will need in a run, the luck being the only good think about it. 7.Humility: i will be honest this item sucks, I think this is one of the worse items I ever saw in this game.

A very interesting mod. Will download. My favorite is Patience. The cosmetic changes and the transformation are cool too. My only question is, does this item drop with the heavenly virtue bosses as well or is there a chance percentage?
I didn't do any compatibility like that. I think someone suggested this to me, or maybe I thought of it myself, but I didn't have the time to do that. might update the mod later, who knows
I thought of adding something for Judas but I didn't have any ideas and besides it's so rare to play judas and get birthright that I didn't feel like it would be worth my time
duplicated familiars from box of friends count! that's why I made a cap of 25. and I didn't include that in the video because find out yourself. the twins trinket gets removed, though
Chastity seems like a very bad item Sure, you get damage, but you lose out on the Conjoined transformation and a lot of useful familiars just by picking it up, since getting new familiars removes the buff.
Item ranking (in my opinion) 1. Charity (I like free stats) 2. Temperance (self-sacrifice for stats is a cool concept) 3. Diligence (good) 4. Patience (free stats but also I’m impatient so it goes down) 5. Chastity (I just like familiars idk) 6. Kindness (I’d only commit to this if I had a low count on a specific pickup) 7. Humility (this just kinda sucks)
Look, it's really interesting and good on the storytelling side, but the logical consistency is lacking. Like, how is killing a beggar amd then encountering other beggars more kind, than encountering them first and then killing one? Then, Chastity is very risky and weak for an Angel item... like, use Chastity, find a familiar, and what you get is either the new familiar is useless or if you take it, the chastity is. Obviously the newly gotten familiar should be consumed too instead, otherwise it's like quality 0. Temperance also looks mostly useless unless you have health to fill several blood machines, and you need to find those machines too. Charity could spawn a beggar in the starting room? And shouldn't the q4 items just decrease stats by twice the amount?.. Otherwise, very cool ideas, of course ❤
don't worry, I thought of most of this when making the mod. 1. I could've done the beggar thing better, but I just... thought it's okay how it is, I guess? also it adds some strategy to the item. the beggars you encounter later don't know what you did anyway, right? 2. for Chastity, as simple as that sounds, I never thought of doing it that way. I wanted the items to punish you for doing a counterpart sin, but what you said is way better. Chastity is my least favorite item for me, also it was a pain to code. oh and it counts towards the transformation I guess, giving it at least some value 3. for Temperance, I think it's good. if you find old bandage or yum heart + habit you can get infinite stats until the machine breaks. and it's not hard to find them, really 4. actually considered adding this but I was unsure if it would fit the item/game or not. and I also thought of making Temperance drop the temperance card 5. Q4 items reset all the stats because of the reasoning I provided in the video thanks for the feedback, though.
@@haemolacrian I don't really worry, I just don't think it's worth it breaking my brain with these inconsistent temporary buffs. Like the new Judgement extension which adds a new floor I absolutely love, but it also resprites a whole load of monsters and bosses in a way not fitting both the main game and the added floor. It's so pointless but also makes it barely usable for me... 😩 But yeah, appreciate your answer, giving the point why you did things! Making it understandable, at least
