Thanks bassntrout you have got me into fishing alot more I used to only go when my grandpa came into town but now I go almost every weekend and you got me into fly fishing so I asked for one on my b day I got one in October and still haven't managed to get a fish on it I am trying hard to but overall thanks so much for making these videos couldn't do it without you
Bass'n'Trout, I like how you decide to deal with a cold by going fishing, unlike most men who tend to curl up in bed at home and feel sorry for themselves (at least, the men I know do this).
you had the right idea with the rapala. you should pick up some shallow shadow raps and use a slow jerk cadence. works like magic for those smaller muskies. also you should consider investing in some polarized glasses haha
I'm surprised that you have so many tigers in that water. They are kind of rare even in Wisconsin. I've only caught 1, but it was over 40 inches out of the black river. Good videos. Tiger musky is a hybrid between a regular musky and northern Pike.
as always a great video and as you well know a great day for you those days really are awesome but lad you got schooled by those muskies was is always fun, can't tell how many times fish schooled me out but learned to learn for the next encounter. Keep fishing young man it's the only way to fly
Yeah the Muskie in this spot have been fished almost every day for the last 6 months, they're wicked smart haha. I caught one out of here but it took me several trips to do it.
I could never trust 4 pound line against those muskie lol. You gotta get yourself a swimbait set up for em. If trout are the main forage, glidebaits and Huddlestons could work.
Hooked a massive cutthroat upstream (right where you are casting for musky) last August. It came out of the water with its bright red cheek and fins and spit my Copper John. I was devastated! It was 26”+. That same day a kid landed a giant tigar musky
Its late in the fall. Youll be hard pressed to get a musky to bite on small spinners and jerkbaits. This time of year they really only want a big meal so upsize your bait next time
went there with some buddies a little while back and we were catching wipers and cutthroat like crazy in the river. and my brother caught a 37 inch muskie on a tiny spinner and 4 pound line
I had the same experience with the musky earlier this year. I counted 5 but I was down stream from you about a mile. I bumped them on the nose with streamers and just like you, absolutely no reaction at all.
I know this spot, but I won't name it. Although I really don't understand why people are so elusive about their "secret spot". I understand the premise of not wanting everyone and their dog to go over fish a place but it's always just something that has been weird to me.
@@Nutmachine like I said I get it to a point for sure because a lot of people suck (like the littering you spoke of). I just have always thought it was weird is all. If it's a little secluded spot, then ok yeah keep your secret but this place is far from little or secluded. :P But to each their own I suppose. I'm not trying to convince him or anyone to spill the beans just voicing my unrequested opinion haha.
