Admittedly this is a new game to me, but those tanks did not look worth it. A bit squishy and they didn't really seem to kill anything either. It looks like those are the kind of unit where the upgrade turrets are really important to being... honestly to being useful at all given what I could tell.
Yes, they are obviously not worth the cost if you don't get the turrets. There are also a variety of turrets. If you want them to be tanky, you can get regen turrets that make it very hard to kill. Making 4 of them and getting into a fight with them naked was worst-case scenario; all the investment and none of the pay-off.
Man.. i remember watching your videos and you were pumped to get 30k subscribers..! Keep up the good work! Always fun to check out your videos and watch some good cheese action lol.
Absolutely love this with how much room for strategic innovation there is. I feel like the units *look* much less responsive than they are because of how slowly the models turn to face the direction they're moving, and I wonder if that might be a useful thing for them to adjust - I miss the "crispness" of SC2 unit control. After watching more play from you and others though, it seems like the significantly slower pace of unit movement compared to SC2 maybe opens up space for players to engage better with the added depth of strategy that comes with all these mechanics and abilities. So basically more ability micro and strategy options at the cost of less positioning micro. An interesting tradeoff, but it makes it possible to add a lot of new ideas into the RTS genre! Stoked to see you inventing new ZS cheeses!!
11:43: "These tanks don't really die" 12:08: 3/4 tanks are dead. 18:50: "My army is looking pretty big here" 19:00: Army is dead. Would help if you actually put turrets on the tanks ;p Also never had a counter for the enemy tanks.
Unfotunately you lost the tank with the upgraded turrets first, and a lot of the others never got turret upgrades. But the last guy I was watching play this just used F2 control on everything. Good to see some splitting and map control. I can't wait to play this. Personally I'm going to send my hero to my opponent's xp tower, wait for them to aggro the bugs, and then start stealing the tower and either wait until they use their ability on the bugs to soften them and then try to gank the kills, or focus their hero down while they're being chased. I was going to play Grell regardless of their strength, Zerg main.
Grinding meta is how you learn how effective your cheeses are. so it's good that you did some grinding. But now you feel like moving on and that's good too :)
victory at last! But thou, shrieking harbinger, Foul pre-currer of the fiend, Augur of the fever's end, To this troop come thou not near. Death is now the phoenix' nest; And the turtle's loyal breast To eternity doth rest, Leaving no posterity
One complaint I have is how flying bullet animations / shot sounds aren't synchronised with units losing HP from them sometimes. Is it due to lag or it's just a graphical thingy? Either way, it's a bit disorienting.
LOL, you didn't go with it on the 1st game because the nuke was better against big balls of small things.... guess what he built lol It would have been so OP in the first game :D
The gameplay looks decent, but the art style is so painfully generic that it’s hard to imagine this game getting a broad audience. It’s also hard to tell why folks should play this instead of SC2, aside from a bit of novelty.
I see the exact opposite with "Stormgate". Both are still not fully released and IMHO. The visuals, are easier to change than the gameplay feel. Storm gate feels to cutie for me. Same problem, Diablo 3 and genshin impact have for me. IMHO, zeros pace have a bigger chance but in the end it's gonna be the thing that the small kids are going to play to get in the numbers.
I have to say having watched two of your videos on the game, I'm not that interested. I don't have a clue what the units or buildings do, it looks like mobs of things moving around and then clashing and something dies. Everything moves slow, units are pretty samey looking, etc. Starcraft has a pretty good distinction in what everything does, how everything looks different to other things, etc.
This game is gonna be bomb!!!! Legion seems like the warcraft 3 ppl lol plants are zero and the other is Terran lol I love this game already! So much better than stormgate
I do like ZeroSpace better than Stormgate but they're all pretty samey. I would absolutely love to see uTherm play a truly different RTS, like Planetary Annihilation or Beyond All Reason. He could get up to so much shenanigans in those, especially PA.
This or one of the new rts games will probably surpass sc2. Because of simplicity and ability to play on toaster-level system requirements. Sucks but will probably happen. Like LOL vs DOTA 2
Imo this game needs refinement. I luv your channel Thermy but I probably won't watch these videos very often or at all. (I'm not talking shit, just giving my honest opinion) Cheers Marc.
