Events like this are why those same people wonder when that person gets distant and detached when they haven't heard from you in forever. When this happens too often these people stop caring and possibly even feel apathy.

My life is the exact same. My friends say they want to do things with me, and they never do outside of school.

Then again some people just grow apart, and have other priorities in their lives but mainly, nobody is that busy to interact with someone whom they say is their friend. I know it sucks, I feel for you too and I have those "One sidedness" in my life too.

Calling is actually a lot better if you really want to understand where a person is coming from. In person is of course the top dog of communication because you get the body language side which makes up about 60% of how we read a person. But tone of voice is also very important. Texting is just normally more convenient for the majority of people at any given time.

shiNe4Him as a person who prefers to text, it's not only because of the time, I have lots of it. When I talk to somebody on the phone I stress out, I don't know what to say and I can hear this silent judging from them, I often don't even understand what are they talking about and it's horror for me. If you don't belive me, ask other people with social anxiety

Amma Monasci I have a 'friend' who prefers phone calls and face to face contact, but at the end of a conversation with her I always feel confused. She's one of those people who don't listen just talk, so a conversation with her is always one sided, because I feel like I'm talking to a wall. She doesn't respond to what I say, but what she has to say. I always see it in her eyes while I'm talking to her, that she's already thinking about what she's going to say next, which is why she doesn't take in at all what I'm saying, so her response has hardly anything to do with what I said. It's very exhausting. It feels like I have to keep trying to get through to her. At least when I email, I don't have to compete with her to be able to talk, but she still ignores most of what I say in my emails and only answers either parts of my message that she thinks was a personal attack, or the last sentence of my email and ignores the rest. The hard thing is that I work with this person, so sometimes it takes weeks to receive work related information from her, because she's awful at communicating, and she's the one who thinks that socialising is important for people, because that's how they learn to communicate. She's a social butterfly, but in the literal sense. She 'flies' from person to person at a party, starts a conversation with them, and moves onto the next one without really talking about anything. Very annoying...
