The only thing I like about Apple is the new M1/M2 chips which are pretty damn efficient and reasonably fast. MacOS, iOS and most of Apple products simply suck in terms of value especially if you want a lot from it. It's however great for people who aren't really experienced in tech who are the opposite of tech-savvy. As we tech-savvy ppl want to customize the shit out of our OS, have support for anything and everything ( e.g. Like Windows/Android and somewhat Linux does ) and use the standard ecosystem which means no stupid "Lightning" ports etc. Apple screens don't even offer 144hz+ which is super lame, they're still behind with 60hz.
I pad coming in clutch for school tho can't say much about other apple products since I don't own anything else but I ain't trying to get sucked into buying more great vid as well
I wouldn't go so far and say that apple has "normalised" some things. I'm still using a head phone jack since i don't have to depend so much on battery life and I have better sound quality and less interferences; and I don't think that using a head phone jack is less "normal" nowadays. And I don't think Apple knows what people want, actually Apple couldn't care less; only thing Apple wants is your money.

Generally I keep the games installed on the drive, uninstall drivers, then install the new drivers on the next system. Mainly so I don’t have to keep redownloading hundreds of gigabytes of apps.
You talk about consumption in such a negative way when consumption is one of the key factors for increasing GDP and why Americans are more wealthy. The United States also didn’t grow because of consumption it grew because of mass investment. Such as investment in military industry during the world wars, and interstate construction to allow mass shipping.
I talked about consumption that way from a societal perspective. It is not healthy for us to be spending so much of our time obsessing over material possessions and spending our money on things we don’t need.
America also gave the world the GNU project... Which, added to a Finnish kernel, gave us Linux, which basically hands us access tp the internet. Giving in to fake status and marketing is such a waste of everyone's time and resources. Grow up and think for yourselves and actually do spmething useful with your resources.
