I've had A few experiences with people being legitimately racist towards me and I never try and take it personal, but it does suck that people are really that closed and single minded. True it is the minority though.
I am christian but I used to have a classmate in middle school who was muslim. I remember talking to her about islam out of curiosity and I remember being so interested in the subject. In my opinions all religions are the same, all of the religions aim to bring peace and love in the world, it's us the people who do the opposite.

As a woman, Ive never had someone lay their hand on me in my entire life. The women in my family too. This is something that’s not even cultural or religious, it’s just something wrong with people. The women in Islam are treated like Queens and you don’t need to worry about our hijab, it’s not a sign oppression, in-fact I even feel empowered when I wear a hijab. So please for all the people outside islam don’t think all of us feel oppressed, I started wearing the hijab at the age of 5. Till now I have never taken it off, I feel comfortable and confident when I wear it. Don’t assume we’re all oppressed.
