The Smothers Brothers were a natural duet comedy team. I can't remember not laughing at any of their jokes. I was sad when Craig Ferguson retired from late night comedy.
No body ever did a better impression of Johnny Carson than Tommy Smothers. Even a a do it quickly from his brother. Easpecaly the mannerisms. He does it as a compliment to Johnny. It also at least is there way of saying Johnny Carson was the tops in late night and gave us all Opertunaties. Especially just liked every day people. 😁
@@bebo5558 Man I sure don't remember a time when the Smothers Brothers wit and timing haven't been perfectly excellent, and seemed honed to a razors edge as far back as I can remember. I'm 66. They've truly got natural talent. Their comedy genius is timeless. Like with Laurel and Hardy, only with a different style. I absolutely loved watching the Smothers Brothers during the sixties. I still love watching them every chance I get. They never fail to make me laugh.

They are just as funny in this skit as they were in the 60s. I also loved Pat Paulson for president. That was also funny as well. It’s nice to see them again.
It was reported online that Tommy had died before I commented... I was researching what happened... And now it's reporting only 12/26/23 How is this occurring? Tommy knows best. He is Loved and appreciated his entire existence. undermining their show was a path that never should have occurred.
Loved the Smothers Brothers forever! Got to see them in person in Atlantic City in the 90's ! Totally hysterical! After the show, we spoke to Tom & Dick ! No pretenses! The way they appeared was the way they are! - kind, generous & funny! They let us take pictures with them ! The photo of my sister & Dick turned out to be the last photo she ever took, before we lost her unexpectedly! She had gotten the tickets as a surprise for me,since she knew how I loved them! Laughter is the best medicine so, I still listen to all their albums & it's great to see them on You tune! Thanks for showing this great routine - one of many!
Hey! Can Tommy come out and play pilot? Only if mom still likes him best and gives him his yoyo back. I met Tom and Dick, in person, at the turning Stone Casino in Rome, NY back in 2000. It was the best night of my life to see their show and backstage in person with them. Tom and Dick... I thank you very much, and for the autographs too. You guys are still the best.
National Policy. Tommy has done that joke forever and I still laugh like the first time. The Smothers Brothers were genius comedy. Tommy. Ill see you on the other side.
Matthew Hamersly "Well, maybe not love. You know, National Policy and all..." "National Policy.." can be applicable to any administration and made fun of. Note: They did that joke some years earlier, in 1992, on the Carson show and more than likely before then ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oghxf-HS6go.html.
@@vinyltapelover What's your point? You're being obtuse. 1) Administration = Politics 2) It's the same as Rodney Dangerfield, you might have heard it a dozen times but you'll still laugh because the delivery & timing are great! I repeat, what's your point?
My dad gave their “best of” album when I was in grade school and love watching/listening to their stuff. My girlfriend doesn’t understand why I love these two but they are legends!
From a golden era of comedy ( indeed, more recently featured on Craigs show here...but, they date back a bit, if 'ya know what i mean?) this is just pure Gold. now back to todays 'crap television and programming.
I think it's been said already, these guys are a National Treasure. They can make you laugh - still, like nobody else on earth. And take note, folks...nothing dirty or filthy...and yet they can make you roll on the floor. They were - and are - the best!
I saw them in person in Nebraska many years ago and although they only did their old stuff, every one in the audience sang along and died laughing. It was a great time.
I bought my first album by these comedians in 1961. They were laugh-out-loud funny even without seeing them. Once you saw Tommy's expressions and their musicality, it was gold! Two of my favorite routines were " Chocolate " and " Boil the cabbage down. " I was a huge fan of their series in the sixties.
I met Dick Smothers back in 1995 where I worked at very nice person being a fan of the Smothers Brothers I thanked him for the entertainment he and his brother provided
They made their point, as they always did. So nice to see these nice, smart, civic minded men again, and still on the top of their game. Best wishes to them.
Oh my, I almost forgot how hilarious the Smothers Brothers were, and still are. We need their comedy and a good laugh now more than ever. I hope they are still going strong in 2020 ....
I have loved these guys since the mid 60s. My grandmother called my brother and I the Smothers Brothers for many years. My brother and I faught over who was Tommy. Years later I finally one. In 2007 I finally saw them live and did a meet and great after the show. I told them that story and Tommy said you picked the right brother. I said why? Tommy said he bet my mother loved my brother the best. Which is part if their skit. The worse word they used was "bull caca". One class act they are!
