It is high time we honored HH the Dalai Lama with Bharataratna. No one has done better for India's image and culture, What is it the Government is afraid of? Government of China? Most Chinese would welcome it not withstanding what their Government thinks of it. Let us honor those who have done well by our people and country -Anjaneya Reddy, Hyderabad.
+channele fun He has done more to present Indian Culture and tradition, Indian Secularism and tolerance to the world than any other living indian. He has rekindled our interest in our ancient thought and is the only one who speaks of ethics in this country! We have in a way let down Tibet, still without bitterness, he has done India proud in every way! He should have been the natural choice for the Chancellor of the Nalanda University; Nalanda tradition has been kept alive and nurtured only in Tibetan Culture! Our civic honors shall not be dictated by what our neighbors think. Most Indians think no one is more deserving of Bharata Ratna than the Dalai Lama. -Anjaneya Reddy
Kinda nasty thing to say when it is we who gave him refuge against the wishes of the powerful chinese govt. We, a poor country, could certainly use their help but have done the right thing. Give ourselves some credit - no one else will. Please stop putting ourselves down
Thankful to India and the people for taking Tibetans in refugee. We will payback someday but it will never be enough for what you’ve done for us. Thanks again to all the Indian brothers and sisters 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I look forward to your intent with good hope of Mansarovar in Kailash Tibet being liberated from CHINA visa... N Indians can just travel easily with on spot visa approval from Independent Tibet 🥰😊 I believe that's what all the Tibetan souls live for!
@kuo yee liu India has never wanted Tibet. We want Tibet's freedom for Tibetans (our brothers) to get back their home. Tibetans are very welcome to stay here till then as well and we are proud to host them. India has never invaded any country and never plans to do so. And yes, the Dalai Lama can speak for what is right, it's not politics, it's called standing with the truth.
@kuo yee liu You're shitting in every comment section. Talking bad against Dalai Lama is very personal for many people like me. Have some fucking compassion. People like you shouldn't be allowed to use internet.
Dalai Lama is truly the Son of India. For every Tibetan saying thank you - instead we Thank You for giving us such a blessed opportunity to be part of your lives, struggles and journey.
He is a snake in the grass had high regard for him but now that I know bhuddism helping usa to break up our culture and claiming vedas given to us by a westerner check RAJEEV MALHOTRA'S THE SYSTEMATIC BREAKUP OF INDIA AND THE FIGHT FOR SANSKRIT ...utube
Time pass he won Noble Peace Prize and called himself son of mother India. What else should he do to India? You expect financial or political benefit from him?
You never have an idea about how close Indo-Tibetan relationship before China invaded Tibet after that. I think you are born baby about all that long history. India and Tibet have been sharing whole things culture to food and clothes. And yes to your question, Tibetans are fighting with China, not only for Tibetan. If Tibetan only want to fight with china for their own benefits of commercial and just political, I think they needn't fight that hard and sacrificed that much lives of Tibetan with that world super power nation. Tibetan can shut up and follow Chinese order and take all advantages as all other minorities get under its rule. You won't have an idea about how much money Chinese government offering to minorities for build business and interest-free loan. Do you believe they are offering more than 1 Crore INR to each family who is obedient to their order and just kept silent, but no, they are not silent under this types of financial aid. Becuase their goal is not just for Tibetan, it is for the world and especially for all over Asia. If you can't understand just learn about only the Brahmaputra.
IND 007 You. are fully baked intellectual?? Shame on you for doing such comments on Abdul Kalam ji.. Bharath Ratna is very tiny thing for a man who contributed his entire life for the well ness of our country, literally he has nothing to love other than India..
India government must give Barat Ratna to His holiness Becoz he is just like a great teacher of Nalanda university & now he share old & precious Nalanda knowledge for whole world that is start from India. He is the only one great person in this world now to keep save old Indian Nalanda wisdom. If Barat Ratna award give to his holiness don't make him as proud but we Indian are so lucky to give him this precious award for him.

Dalai Lama has created a fear in the heart of Chinese without violence or hatred.. only love and peace.. That's why He is not merely a religious leader.. He is God
kyile chukey He is a human being, an inspiration for many people. Dont put him on a pedestal by calling him holiness. He never called himself a holy person so why would we?
Uba // Can I not have the freedom to address anyone the way I want? I don't think I even forced anyone to address him as his holiness. I call him his holiness because that is how am comfortable addressing him as.
kyile chukey Yes, you absolutely have the right to address him in your own way, what is comfortable to you. The reason I gave my comment is because I think all human beings should strive for being as peaceful and open minded as this person. But by calling him holy it makes him so far out of reach while he too is just a simple human being, but with different experiences. My intention was purely to share this idea, and yes you have every right to describe a person the way you like.
see the woman in 9:45 ,that's my Bhutanese countryman.... renewed my faith to Gyalwa rinpoche. I liked the 'Nalanda thought' part... thats Gautama buddha talking in the 21st century
His speeches should be spread across India so that the communal harmony must be maintained. And monotheistic religions Sikhism Hinduism Jainism Buddhism Zindabad they are worlds most peaceful religions. I belong from the first one.
Exactly! The disturbing ones of peace & harmony across globe are - Islam and Christianity. Don't know if they even understand that they're the blot to humanity when they practice violence.

such an intelligent talk by the Dalai Lama... Just listen to him... he said education will change the world, not religion or praying or meditation. He said think about the humanity not my place, my community, etc. Not for once he said that convert to Buddhism... Thats the power and honesty of a true leader.

If you carefully listen to the entire interview, you will find out that the interviewer's questions are full of negativity. Not a single question that she has asked is about promoting positive values, education, equality or anything. She is more interested in asking than listening. However, these negative questions were rightly answered by logical and positive statements.
When he said how India has taken care of him and went onto say that he’s the longest guest of Indian government… my throat choked up and couldn’t help crying 😭 May there be compassion and enlightenment in this Samsara 😢

We will never say Tibet is India. But my Tibetan brothers and sister who are in India will be more respected and we will treat them as real Indians. We love Dalai Lama ji who is most respected person in the world. My Bharat is lucky to have a person like u. I believe in Buddhism and it's holiness. Buddhism born in India. Btw I'm Indian Hindu. But I'd like to be a Buddhist. Respect from India 🇮🇳❤️
Dalai lama is not just our guest. He is ours. He belongs to us. India is the land from where budhism was started. Budha was born in ancient India(modern day nepal) and got enlighten in India. Nalanda university was the greatest university at its time where students used to come across the globe. Tibet culturally is more close to India than it is to China. Love Tibet from India.

People have different perceptions. But we have to investigate weather our perceptions match reality. Truly speaking, when I first saw His Holiness hugging, kissing and playfully asked the boy to suck his tongue.I envied the boy and his family for getting such special blessings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. CPP paid media including NDTV should apologize to the millions of Dalai Lama's followers for spreading misinformation. In Tibet people would not get even a glance of His Holiness The Dalai Lama. Tibetans and all his devotees consider themselves to be most fortunate if they get to touch their forehead to the Feet of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It was an unprededent in the life of His Holiness The Dalai Lama that a boy went upto him and asked for his hug. His Holiness the Dalai Lama being Buddha of Compassion, would never turn down the boy's request for hug. The entourages were supposed to stop the kid from approaching to His Holiness but they did not stop because the boy belongs to our host country. I envied the boy when His Holiness said to the boy; Ok come. I even wish my children got such precius blessings. Besides, if you watch the unedited and unblur video carefully, you will see that His Holiness withdraws his tongue as soon as the kid sticks his tongue out. Which shows that "His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras.
I have not seen God but this supreme human being comes closest to that definition. And this God also wears glasses. Long live the Dalai Lama, long live Indo-Tibetan relations and friendship.
