Hi Steve, thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. My 7 year old son has been diagnosed with a condition called nephronophthisis, it’s a genetic condition which will ultimately lead to kidney failure. He was diagnosed when he was 1. Thankfully his kidneys have remained healthy however studies have shown that children with his condition start to decline at the age of 9. The same gene that’s causing his kidney failure has also affected his eyes and he will also eventually be legally blind. He has an uphill battle in his life and truth be told I struggle everyday. It’s easy to cope when people like you share their journey. I met you in 2016 at the Arnold when my son was born and you were the nicest person. I wish you all the best and I hope you stay healthy! Thanks Steve.
Sorry to hear about your son, stay optimistic there are a lot of advances every year in the medical field. especially with transplant its not a death sentence. thank you for all support over the years hope to cross paths again and hear about some good news
@@stevegentili thanks Steve I appreciate it, I’m always praying for the best and I’m always optimistic with the advances in medicine. Hoping you stay healthy brother and hopefully we meet again.
My dad got diagnosed went in dialysis by the same time you went in. He had severe diabetes and was in his final days. He passed away summer 2022. From the things you’ve shown us on social media and what I saw from my dad, dialysis is something I never would want to go through. I’m so happy for you and I hope you stay healthy. Your message to prioritize healthy has been stated and understood long before this interview. I hope you and me stay healthy for a long time.
Welcome back Steve !! 😃💪🏼 Thanks for all the great content you have provided us with over the years - but especially lately! 🤙 Happy you're doing better now!!
