That schedule looks great and seems flexible if needed. I agree on social, i don't have a youtube channel, but do run a popular fitness group on FB other than that no social media. Would love to see variety in your videos like hauls, frugal approaches, your minimalism etc. Goodluck brother!!
As someone that struggles horribly with social anxiety, I can't even use social media. I've tried, but yeah my anxiety always gets the best of me. As pathetic as it may sound I can barely even talk to people anymore it's gotten so bad, so using social media is just a big no. Hell even commenting here is a challenge, and most times I'll type something but end up hitting that "Cancel" button. I know for some people their anxiety only applies to face to face interactions, but for me it's online too so yeah it's made things very difficult. Not sure if you'll see this Stevie, but I hope things work out with not using social media. Seems like so many things nowadays rely on it, and some things even seem to force you to use it so I hope it doesn't backfire. Admittedly I'm not subscribed, I just don't subscribe to channels anymore, but I do watch your videos regularly especially on the other channel since I love your wrestling content. I hope everything goes well for you, and thank you for the content.
Good grief Stevie, hearing all of this is so refreshing! Seriously, my life would be twice as good if I had half of your motivation! I need to order a Cameo from you dude, seriously.
@@AsianGFguy91 It's not as pointless as everything else, but yes, it still counts. I use my RU-vid like cable TV with a comment section, with very specific channels used during the work week.
@AsianGFguy91 Although I'll leave the odd comment on RU-vid I don't see this as the same thing as Facebook, Instagram etc. I've never had one. You go on those sites to interact with people & post things about your life. I come on RU-vid to watch videos & If feel the need to comment I do but I couldn't give a toss about likes & replies.
I've been feeling a fog in my mind for a long time. I also feel I could me more productive and wasting time in social media and a lack of structure to my day are probably the main reasons. In a way, this video is heaven sent as this is exactly what I needed-- especially since I'm also trying to grow my music channel while balancing other projects such as novel writing and fitness. Time management is the key and has always been so hard but seeing how you're doing it is inspiring
Never had Instagram, snapchat is useless, tweeted twice in like 2010, deleted Facebook forever ago, never had Tik Tok, legitimately all I have that counts as "social media" in any regard is RU-vid, which I use more like cable TV with a comment section.
I hate Social Media, but it's the only way some people learn about you and your products. If you walk away from it, you are killing your business. The only way I found out about you was from Social Media.
I totally get what you are saying. Sometimes I get lost into looking at reels whether its tiktok, facebook, or youtube and the next thing I know I wasted an entire day of doing nothing.
Hey stevie, new viewer of your fitness channel, proud of the progress you have made and it’s very inspiring to see all you overcame to be the person you are today, stay safe during the weather, and hope you have an awesome day!!!
It's been really refreshing cutting off social media. I keep my performer pages, in which case on only really seeing feeds from peers. But as far as personal accounts go, they're just placr holders. And I don't use my Facebook profile outside of messenger. (Due to others in my life only using messenger to communicate with folks) But the lack of having personal profiles, preventing myself from "doom scrolling" as the kids say, has done wonders for my mental health.
I don't even do social media at all. I feel it's like a poison to everything tech wise. I do some FB and have RU-vid. But other than that, Nothing else. A SM break is well needed at any cost.
Brilliant video, Stevie. You're 100% correct. I can relate, I own a gym and use the same reasoning that I need it for work, I don't. I've known for a long time to draw the line. It's time for a new plan of action. Thanks, mate. Appreciated.
I periodically distance myself from social media to clear my head and take stock of things, especially in the sort of heated environments that come up in an election cycle. And as an illustrator, I've also spent a lot of time uncoupling my art from the sites that promote, endorse, or otherwise condone things like AI that steal from creators and want to justify themselves for doing so. Bottom line everyone has a reason to step back and reassess, and if that's what you need to do, be well and be safe. We have enough going on in our lives without feeling overwhelmed or underserved by our attempts to grow and flourish.
Stevie is a wrestler, who while I was always a fan, never really thought about wanting to meet. It was through his channels and videos that made me realize how wonderful of a human being he is and now I look forward to maybe crossing his path at a meet and greet just to say thank you for the insight and entertainment he's provided.
I love this! Kudos to you for doing what’s right to put you in the best mindset to succeed. I love that you geek out over learning the production side of things to improve your video quality! I do the same. Never thought I would become so obsessed with wanting to learn the behind the scenes tricks but it’s my goal even if it means a little less content for now.
I've been off social media for years. And I felt so much better for it. I think social media is a major component of global destabilisation. With all the political ecosystems on these platforms.
Recently I've been feeling like just not using the internet nearly as much anymore. This gives me hope. I was feeling as if social media was on the decline and I saw videos about people leaving social media more than ever. The internet is not as fun as it use to be that's for sure. It's over moderated, everyone is sensitive, etc. Not to mention ads are becoming worse and worse. It's just not exciting anymore.
As far as content id like to see on here? Well, none. I'm not a fan of content. I'm a fan of life being lived, discussed, and presented honestly. That's what you excel at, Michael. Honest communication is your strength, and the essence of who you seem to be. Salesmen, chatterboxes, and pop culture prophets are a dime a dozen. You're a top level communicator. Take that to the heart, not the head. When you speak through the voice of the spirit of your faith, heart, and truth, all those with ears to hear will understand you. What will you say? What will those words do? Anything laced with your love of life will do the job. My advice, keep sharing your journey, just like you're doing. I think the more heart inspired confidence you get, and the more you cultivate and share of yourself, the better the world around you will be. Less mind tweaking, and more heartfelt speaking. If you wish to pitch products, so be it. But let it be clearly stated that YOU ARE THE GIFT. No gimmicks or extras needed. You're top tier, Michael. With the power to change the world inside, and all around you. One breath at a time. One slow and deeply involved rep at a time. Slow down and deeply understand the negative, and thoroughly and passionately accentuate the positive. We're not weight lifters. We're body builders. Life builders. Love builders. It's a lifetime career. And a privilege to be a card carrying member. And you're doing a great job, Dude. ❤️🔥💪
Lol the guy cooking our hibachi just asked us about facebook. Me and my wife have not had social media since I was 20 and she was 19. 31 and 29 now. Also we don’t drink or smoke. This is my only social media if this counts.
Man, your marriage sounds like a lot of work! Devotion time, prayer time. I don't know how you manage all that after a day of work. But definitely, I get caught in the doom scrolling and then get frustrated in myself for not doing things I keep reading about and endlessly researching on the internet. Social Media sucks your time and you end up frustrated and lost.
I needed to hear that bit about the 18 minutes a day, which makes me think about my music and writing and how I get overwhelmed thinking about it and the amount of stuff to do and I end up putting it off to play my steam deck. By the way, what are you playing on your deck lately Stevie?
Shut down my FB and Instagram 6 months ago. Best decision. Now I have to keep telling my friends repeatedly that I cannot open most of the Instagram and FB stuff they send. Maybe, eventually they will all get a clue. 😂
If I didn’t use it for business I wouldn’t use it at all. I see it as a means to an end and I will never understand how or why anybody can scroll or trawl through social media for hours on end.
Stevie, as long as I give my 2¢ on my experience of your show and editing I hope you take it as constructive because that is how it is intended. It is funny that you mentioned time management and your conversational "shoot" style of presenting your videos because that is a delicate balance that needs to be felt more than thought. I would like to offer you an idea that may help with that. Lately I have written movie reviews on an app called Likewise, and the review section only allows for a maximum of 2000 characters. What I did was I downloaded a word count app and allowed myself to go over that limit. Then I asked myself how much excessive wording I could eliminate and how much of the plot was described on the page so that I didn't have to explain too much while still keeping the core review in tact. I believe that if you do similar practices with writing it can reveal some ways in which you tend to repeat yourself or go off into tangents. It's a good way to learn how you would like to organize your thoughts and that may carry over to your other platforms. Write mini movie reviews (or whatever you choose), set a character limit, allow yourself to go over that limit, and then trim the fat. It doesn't have to take long and you can invite it into your ritual every now and then. I do think with the show that the main issue is not time. I hope you keep the 2hr format because there is so much potential. Once you are able to monetize it and build your fan base you could hire a third person to do interviews and join on the last third of the show to discuss the interview. You could create a "mid-card" section of the show that will lead to the main topic of discussion. You could incorporate onscreen pics to go with the news of the day to give a visual presentation. It could work so well by creating a flow and time management is key, and whatever is too long to make the cut for any particular episode becomes the stuff for a future episode. You could call it your deep dive segment where you start a pole on RU-vid on what couldnt be covered due to time constraints and then allot some time to it on the next show. It isn't about time at all, but how the show moves and transitions within that time. I love watching your show not just for content (though that is good as well), but because there are so many areas you could explore and a lot of potential. Keep doing your thing. Thank you for putting yourself out there and being open to suggestions. People like you make this platform fun! Forgive the rambling 😅 😅
Don't apologize. You were not rambling at all and I take any suggestions on how to improve the content. The show is still in its infancy and we are working to improve with each episode. Taking chances and having some misses is all a part of the journey. I know I can tighten up my end of the conversation and plan to get better.
@@StevieRichardsFitness cool Red Dead 2 is cool have it. I also love the Wrestling games back in the day. The Rock is my favorite then Stone. Cold. I'm not the biggest wrestling fan now, but love the old school 80s and 90s stuff. I watch your other podcast stuff and the Jim Cornet stuff. Thanks for what you do. Keep wrestling alive for all us 30/40 years and love you insights on the business.
Hey Stevie, I agree. I focus on my son Riker and my family. I have Facebook, and I check it once a year for my bday just to say thank you for the bday wishes. I spend my life focusing on my real world. Good for you
Hire a social media manager, think about expanding your brand to efficient time management, how individuals can be successful, tips and tech techniques, motivational speaking, you could do Ted talks, just thoughts
I don't make a schedule everI walk every day push ups 5 days a week no sertin time I walk over 15000 steps a day the most steps in a month was 1001000 59800 in a day
@@Y2Jerms Technically YT can be considered social media but it has more utility and other uses besides communicating with others. Places like Twitter and FB are mainly just people posting opinions and discussions while with YT people can watch movies, shows, content passively.
@@crystalwater505 I always considered youtube as another social media platform. But I can see, especially now, how it's more viewed as an entertainment service. It's basically TV.
I could and want to get off FB but it is also really resourceful when it comes to hobbies. I wish there was a filter on there that gets rid of all garbage, porn, toxicity, AI posts that just promotes hate/division, memes, etc. The only reason I hold on to it is for PMing friends and hobby groups. I watch RU-vid which can also get toxic at times but ill never use any of the other SM platforms
I would love to respond to this video but it'd be giving away way too much info. Suffice to say stopping social media, even the doomscrolliing/time wasting aspect of it, is a luxury I cannot afford. Good for you though.
Welcome to the sensible side, what took you so long? Seriously though, no-one needs that in their life. Ok, maybe for some professional marketing aspects, but that can be one way posting, no re-engagement. Life's so much more meaningful without socials getting in the way of the important stuff, like family. Maybe RU-vid is borderline and I am being a bit of a hypocrite, but it's certainly not twitter or instantgram or tikkidytock and all that brainrot no-one needs
