Ok, this is serious. Now that I'm watching this video. This is serious stuff guys. Keep thriving. There's no need to be misguided by your thoughts. If you're patient enough, you'll know what it takes. Prove yourself but Understand, check your age. Eg. GaryVee wanted to start a vine review blog. He waited for it 7 years. See, you have time. Don't be here for being the best here. You have to beat your past self not here to be compete. Please, game development journey is not easy. Parents don't know that Development is a successful career as there are very little developers. No physical proofs. They are concerned about you. Do this: Study first. Fulfil their wish, until then persue game Dev as a hobby. Like me. If you work well, you will succeed. Then you can be a full time Dev. And no one will stop you. Be serious. *Life is not a joke*

To any aspiring game developer who is reading this. I have created 20+ games and none of them were successful. Have earned less than 2$ in last 5 years from those games. Have read a lot demotivating reviews. Had a PC which couldn't even run unity properly till I bought laptop with my earning after completing my graduation. Chill out have patience, there is a long way ahead.

I think I am a little late. But no one can understand this stuffs better than me . Nikhil bhai u remember I said u that my 12th went really bad ?U suggested me to reappear the exam next year and I did that with my full dedication and passed with average Marks this year. Now my parents are totally supportive to me for game development. I said this backstory just to say you guys to be patient and understand what ur elders especially ur parents are saying. This life is not what it seems to be. It’s very tangled. Pls be patience to the situation. I had opt for game dev after 2.5 years of research in this industry. All my younger aspirants of game dev pls keep patience and don’t do anything in rash. It would always result u in a crash. Before doing anything! Just remember ur parents face when they became happy for ur success! Atleast for that sake . Life is not a offline game that u can quit anytime , it’s a online , multiplayer game ! It happens due to those PR companies who writes " a guy with no experience in gamedev made a blockbuster hit" some 14 year old became an instant Millionaire,a kid thinks he can also do it if he has a pc, internet and a game engine(youtube tutorial makes gamedev so easy to develop) but when they try to do it on their own,its a nightmare

Nobody should ever take a decision as serious at that for just a PC (i also kinda like my PC a lot ) i was also very serious when i heard he is gonna end his life ....................

I am 17 year old Dk from Gujarat. My hobby is to become game developer. BTW i am computer engineer But my PC become mad from last 2 year so now I don't have PC and I can't buy new one because I am from lower background. even my parents didn't understand about game development. But i'll continue my hobby whenever I completely Available to buy new PC by my money. Life throw you ball as opportunities.. So what if your parents support you in your game development journey? There isn't a 100% chance that your game will get success anyway Being a Game Developer isn't easy you need to be a man with patience If you don't get success there are other things too like web development or software engineering and much more But life is a one-time thing If you miss it You will never get it back

I truly agree with the fact that people are impatient with the fact that it takes time to attain something in life and things will fall in place when you persevere for something in life. One more thing I want to say I have tried game dev for only 3-4 months but I agree with Nikhil it takes time and lot of hard work to succeed in this field and I have tasted this in such a short span of time. As far as parents are concerned please understand that they were not born in the current era and they will take time to understand the opportunities and possibilities that you may be able to get.When I grew up I never knew RU-vid was even a thing and today it is what many do full time. My game reach top #1 in both ios and Android with 50-70 million downloads, I like to say to new developers, who is trying to succeeding their dream in game developing. I started making games in construct 2 when I was in 10th class, I can't even complete my 10th because I am not that good in "education", so can't learn coding to deep so ultimately I go in graphics design because I am good at it of course, but my big brother is a programmer after he Complete his engineering, he see my little games and got inspired, and we both try to make games, he code and I design, we give our first game to voodoo, it got great cpi and retention but they just keep doing test till 1 year and after that they rejected it😢 after we gave them more games some of our game idea is even copied by them or other company like ketchapp, then we thought to send games to other publisher and leave voodoo, then we find new publishers they didn't published any game then but we thought let s try, so we give our already test game and boom it became instant hit! Even all other company congrats us voodoo ketchup lionstudio etc whom who rejected it, it is also marketing skill of our publishers that help us reach it and of course our game is good, this all take us 4 years and more than 30 games, this is tiring journey for middle family with no earning in 4 years, at last I like to say, enjoy and work like a zen master.

I am also making a 2d story based game for 7 months and still it is under development, I watch AskGameDev he show's very informative videos about marketing, he also says that you also have to see the failed games which are like my game so that you don't make that mistake and also it describes that you may fail or succeed. I am also 15 year old but instead of taking big decision like suicide, I try to explain my parents in very friendly manner and really the understand me, they don't support me on the basis of money in game development but it is okay because they support me morally. Nikhil you are correct ! I am a game developer from Nepal . I started game dev since I was 13 :) and currently I am 19 . In context of Nepal there's even a very low market in the mobile development field so let's not talk about gaming industry in Nepal . When I was 14 my dad broke my laptop and threw it out cause my grades gradually decreased and I used to argue with them all the time . I never quitted or thought of quitting even if I didn't have a pc I used my phone to learn and used to do all these game dev stuffs in very low end pcs in my school . I worked hard collected money from doing part time jobs in age of 15 . After 6-7 months I finally could afford a laptop on my own 😄 This made my parents believe in my passion and I told them that I will prove them I can do game dev and still earn :) . Made more than 30+ games and apps none were successful :)) I feel proud that i never quitted learning . Finally I could earn a good amount of money and gain appreciation from freelancing on game development and Android development 😅 😅 which made my parents believe on me and I now work on a 32gig pc with a good gpu and have full support from my parents ♥️ Never quit learning no one gets successful overnight ☺️

I am 17 and I just passed 12th and will go to nice college and i told my mummy that i would like to do game development so they hesitated. So i didn't thought of suicide at that time I just went for computer science and will do game development as my passion If you have passion to anything nothing can stop you.

I am 13 year old and I have made my game half of it and my pc spec 2gb ram ,dual core processor and internal graphics card and it took 1 hour to render 1asset then also I am trying to complete it and if I can't then I will complete my education and then I will build my own pc and I will make it again and again

i am of 17 and have clear thought of being a full time game dev , but mine plan for now is to learn game development slowly slowly along with my studies , when i heard that i was like who do this shit for a computer, i would tell you truth that till my class 12th i dont had any personal pc or lappy i used to learn game development in school lab by bunking some boring class, so just wanna say if one door closes look for another one instead of just jumping back in well

Game Development isn't for everyone.. if you're easily giving up and not ready to take certain risks to gain the success. unless you love making games it will become so tough for even a smart person

I left game dev to go to web dev because that was safer choice, I could not be so wrong. After noticing the toxic workplaces, unsatisfying payment and HR departments chutiyapa, I realized it does not matter what career you take, jab lore lagne hain toh lagne hain, so do the career you like. Doosri baat, ameer hona chahte ho toh? Trading karo, business karo ya neta ban jao, kyunke koi bhi bnda naukri kar ke ameer nhn hua chahe woh AI expert ka bnda hi kyun na ho. Unemployed hun but happily transitioning to game dev knowing everything is clear. As alluri from RRR said "zindagi aaj pehli dafa mujhe sab saaf nazar aa rha hai".

And one thing I would say that game development is really risky doesn't matter it's India or foreign just see the game developer of first tree indie game

I am in 12th and I know that I will get average marks 😔 but I am not wasting my life I am getting information about my future in game development so that my future can be bright by my own talent ❤️❤️ I started watching a video from past a week. After 12th standard I will mail you some queries from my side. Till then meet you in every comments section of your video. 😁🙏❤️❤️ And agree with your words in this vidio about real struggle, effort and failure.

Its simple as this: life is not predictable. You can put in all your efforts and still you might fail. So, the best action to take is have multiple plans, in case the first one fails. I personally, have plans B, C & D even though I'm fairly confident about my plan A and B. As for my parent, I knew they won't like me pursuing a career that isn't booming much in the country. So, currently I am pursuing computer science engineering (Plan B) while learning and developing a game. This means that if my game isn't a success (maybe it won't as its my first big game), I would still have a job as a CS engineer. All in all, only pursuing one career path and not preparing for failure is, honestly, a dumb decision, unless you are extremely lucky, I know I'm not. Also, it was just a PC! Merely a tool to help you develop your skills. I didn't have one until this year, but I kept on learning and experimenting on my phone (even made tutorial about in on YT). If you're going to take such stupid decisions for such a petty reason, then, let me be honest with you: you are not prepared for the real world. Its never all shine, let-downs and failure are a part of life as well. TL;DR: Life is hard, don't lose hope so soon, learn to deal with failure and let-downs.

Yes I'm 15 learning unity and blender and from my home the carrier is engeneering but I know that if I end my life who will take care of my parents har aspect ko sochna pdta hai and I always convince myself like this whenever I get scolded u just say whenever I get successful my parents will say and if you want to end life then it's too hard for you too survive because you might be in 10th so imagine those who suicide when they don't get seat in NEET OR JEE it's very hard for you just study and when you get successful get a pc pursue
