My biggest regret was using the album as something to sleep too, I only listened to the first chapter of the song and thought it was nice, it made me feel calm and collected. I played the album somewhere around 11 pm and started to drift off into sleep, everything was good so far. Here’s the bad part, it was a dream, well more of a nightmare actually, I was strapped down to my bed, I couldn’t move or scream, I could only hear and see. What happened next felt so damn real, I remember most of it although I try not to, my belly area started to vibrate or move like when your about to sneeze, my organs bursted out, the pain I felt was horrible, I can’t really remember the rest besides trying to move again, when I woke up my pillow was wet with sweat, and the loud distorted music I heard in the middle of the night terrified me to no end because I was still half asleep, but it gets worse, I closed my eyes again while laying down by accident trying to stretch, I couldn’t move my body, and it felt like something was pressing against my back. I could finally move after a few seconds and I immediately turned off the music, I decided to stay up and watch RU-vid for the rest of the night, this was like a few weeks ago.

I’ve never thought about dementia like this before. I’ve heard stories from my family that before my great-grandmother died, she suffered with dementia but when little 2 year old me walked in, it’s like she came back because she would remember me everytime and she would never forget anything that happened with me. This video and the album helped me to realise what dementia truly feels like and how shocking it must of been for my family members to see my great-grandmother acting completely normal when I was around. To this day, I have no idea why she could remember me so well but I feel like it was a bittersweet thing that she could, like her last gift to her family members, her remembering her great-grandson.

I listened to the whole album, and it was worth it. It was my first experience, as a 16 year old, with true art. The ending to the music project actually made me cry, and then I had a much better grasp on what my grandmother had to go through.

For some context, i was 9 when my grandmother passed. Every time i talked to her at the hospice, she was slow but lightened up when she saw me. The last time I went, she didn’t recognise me, and asked stuff like “what’s your name? Where are you from?” I didn’t think much of it at the time, I just thought it was a funny game. But later I understood what happened, and after EATEOT “ Everywhere at the end of time “ I understood much better, what my grandmother went through for all those months.

I think the people who made it are genius. The way they made it with melodies degrading overtime symbolising the different stages are done so well. I haven't listened to it the full way through because I just don't feel too moved by it and don't really feel interested in investing 6 hours of my time listening to random sounds. However, I respect the details throughout the piece because it really shows the depth of how you can create imagery through music. The mere fact that people have been truly scared by this is really something to admire from a creative point of view. It shows that music really is art and can provoke feeling and real emotion from people. It reminds me of that opening scene from the movie 'Up'; they are very similar in creativity and portraying real life situations. We don't get many other really provocative art pieces that are widely recognised, and these will be cherished.

The song sampled in "It's just a burning memory" is called Heartaches and it appears numerous times throughout the album. Apparently it's supposed to represent the person with dementia remembering their spouse which is why the song appears so much in the album. The list below shows the songs in the album that sampled Heartaches. - A1 It's just a burning memory - C3 What does it matter how my heart breaks - E2 And heart breaks - F4 Burning despair does ache - F5 Aching cavern without lucidity - F8 Mournful cameraderie This album was terrifying and beautiful at the same time. I've worked in LTC as a student of medical Sciences and therapeutics and... that album unleashed a horrible revelation within just the first couple songs. I had to stop. It was a true primal fear. A fear of Dementia. Not in the "oh you have Dementia I fear you", no, it was the fear of being addled with Dementia, losing myself, my memory, all my personality, and becoming an empty husk that never knows what's truly wrong, but there's something... wrong. The death of the self, of who I am, of EGO. This album is dangerous, macabre, yet strangely beautiful and dreamy. Truly haunting. I've only finished it once. Never again.

I don't know why but when i listened to the whole 6 hour piece i didn't really feel anything, i would say 90% of the reason people find it unsettling is the typically unnatural, sort of slowed down and melancholic tone of it. Otherwise from the latter half of stage 3 it's basically white noise.

Everywhere at the end of time is literally the most life changing album I’ve ever listened to. Calling it an album doesn’t do it justice either so I normally refer it as an experiment, what that album made me feel is expressed in the 2,153 letter doc I made on my phone. This album left me speechless, terrified, heart broken and In actual pain that I couldn’t breathe out my nose from how much I sobbed. I imagined losing everyone I’ve ever met or loved and it broke me to pieces when I imagined forgetting who I am, during that time I was dealing with a break up so ig that’s why I hurt sm, but it changed my perspective of how I wanted to forget she ever existed cuz of all the anger, and now I don’t ever wish to forget any moment we shared. This truly changed it all for me

I feel like almost everyone I know has listened to that album when they were already going through a rough patch (death of a family member, or someone close is very ill/definitely will die (think cancer), break up, depression spike, injured themself, having a rough time with their friends, etc). I know it seems a weird thing to pick at but it seems like a strange coincidence that people find this soul crushing piece of art when they’re already in a more vulnerable state.

I’ve studied everywhere at the end of time, the first time I heard the track I knew something was off especially the first track “It’s just a burning memory” just by the components, the slowness of the song, the way it’s been toned down, and the static (I always hated the static because I’ve had mental issues where when I’m not in a good state all I hear in my brain is static) the music isn’t the only thing the art also progressively gets more and more distorted, there’s a video on the entire project that was really helpful I wish I could link it but I’m not good with that stuff plus I barely remember it, and about how memory loss as a whole being one of the scariest thing to think about, I have a horrible time with losing people, and thinking about forgetting everyone everything I love and myself is just horrible, I wish the best to those suffering from it and anyone who knows someone close with it, everywhere at the end of time is a show case of how scary it truly is to have dementia, Stay safe out there everyone.

Ok, this is my first time hearing about this and stuff. When you played Stage one in the background, Sadness just overcame me instantly. People could probably tell me I am weird, not everyone is going to feel the same way or have the same reaction towards everything, but I felt pure sadness and was so close to crying. My mind went back in time to when I would seethe outbreak of diseases, Cholera...etc on tv and stuff, the music just reminds me of one of those documentaries that make the situation much more serious and sadder than it was. But I would not listen to it, how interesting it sounds, I'd love to, but I am sensitive to music, if that makes any sense, I have been suicidal in the past, past as a few months ago but getting better and it would most likely trigger me, but thank you so much for sharing! If I do feel like listening one day, I would try my best. Unfortunately, I cannot at this time, but I really thank you for sharing this. Also, yes the music does sound like that old time kind of waltz music. And when hearing music like this, it really really takes me back to those moments of all the sad, past events what were historical and devastating. Music is really like a language, we learn to read, write, explain it, perform it, Music can tell stories with actions or just by itself and for someone to make music like this for example is truly a masterpiece. It was composed in such a way, to make us feel how terrible it is to have a friend or family member that is going through this. I keep editing the comment to explain better.

My grandma died of brain cancer (glioblastoma to be exact) two weeks ago. Even though she didn't suffer from dementia, her declining health was horrifying to see and this video reminded me a lot of her last months. She was diagnosed in mid April and died on July 28th. She was perfectly fine at first because the cancer was diagnosed during a routine visit. Soon she started to confuse names in our family, then she started to forget how to do things that she loved like cooking and sewing and eventually she was bed ridden and unresponsive. Witnessing her health going down hill in a matter of weeks made me truly terrified of what disease can do to the human body.

Man, dementia is one of the most horrible things a person can go through. My mom has worked with dementia patients for a little over a decade now and all she talks about is how much she hates them and hates her job...I don't know how much of this is true but she also told me none of her coworkers enjoy it and the patients rarely get visitors. I've been to my mom's work before as a kid and I've seen how she treats them... I feel like nobody wants to help them...It's so sad.

I feel like this music is really haunting to people who are really into music. It's just more haunting if you're very passionate and technical about music. Listening to the original song then listening to the distorted versions of the song... The ambience of the song puts you in a box in the beginning, while the songs progress, the echoes and reverbs make it feel like the box you're in is getting bigger and the songs you heard are just disappearing from your memory until they are no more. And the beginning song will forever be a burning memory to you. The effects on the song are just super haunting especially if you suffering from some existential crisis. The way it can play in my head so loud and clear when I'm sleeping in the night is just so messed up

It's just in ppl's heads. Someone has said 'oh it represents dementia' and this just forces ppl to think in that way. If it was made and they said 'it's about 'water' then ppl would think in that way' It's just forced thoughts. I listened to it and felt nothing, it's just sad music, and if you think sad then you will be sad. Just got to get a grip

The stage 6 description hit weirdly, in 2019-2020 my great grandfather who was diagnosed with dementia lived with us, he forgot the ides that he forgot, he thought our house was a prison, confused everything and would argue, he was confident in what he thought was true but you could tell he was confused

I remember seeing this musical project and I did not really think much of it until I actually looked into it. What I heard and saw made me shift moods to just darkness and it was just very depressing. My great grandma had dementia, and this musical project kind of made me experience what dementia is like, I was shifting moods faster than wildfire. It really is as Jojo said, pure horror and terror and just sadness, but it’s a true art piece. My Great Grandma the last time I saw her she could still remember me. 3 weeks after she ending up dying of a extreme blood clot, and the horrifying thing is she could not even tell what was happening as it was described by my family taking care of her. I would never wish this disease on anyone and I hope anyone who has this disease gets through it, god bless anyone who has this terrible disease.

I remember looking up what EATEOT after it was mentioned in the replies to some twitter meme, and MAN I wish I didn't. Seriously, that shit had me fucked up and ironically the only thing I wanted to do with it was forget all about it. Anytime I hear it, it's like opening a box full of thoughts that have the potential to kill my whole day. Trust me, there have been memes I haven't liked before, but I don't think I've taken as many preventative measures to try and block something appearing on my timeline as I have this. Thanks for making this video Jojo, it's good to see someone treat respect, and not as some quirky tiktok gag or personality trait.

A Church That Fits Our Needs by Lost in the Trees. The most beautifully heartbreaking album I’ve ever heard. It was written by the son of a woman who had lost two of her children (twins - who would have been, and are, regardless still, his siblings), diagnosed with cancer, and eventually lost her fight with depression and took her own life. It is an actual album, as opposed to more of an art project, and it is both lyrically and instrumentally gorgeous. I suggest checking it out.

Dementia/Alzheimer’s runs in my family and pretty much all my older relatives eventually have got it. Somehow that comforts me, idk why, maybe the fact that I just know it’s probably gonna happen to me. The thing that makes me laugh till I cry now is in this past year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that’s known to effect your memory. Ever since then I’ve been a mess 😂 remembering things has never been harder, I’ll forget what I’m doing in the middle of doing it or in the middle of talking. and things like memorizing stuff for school, or my sisters bday. I’m not saying it’s in Any way its same as dementia because it’s not, I just loved the irony of my situation. And i laugh about it a lot.

Dementia is really sad not too long ago maybe a month a man came into our house walked through the side door Ofc we thought he was an intruder at first trying to rob us to we called the police but he seemed really confused and new his way around the house we later learned he was the past owner of the house and had dementia and he thought he still lived here and we walked hours from the beach where he and his wife were to get here to our house because it was the only thing that he could remember it saddened me before hand knowing about the disease but seeing it firsthand put it in a whole other perspective for me

As someone who lost someone to Alzheimers last year during Easter (Yeah..... was not the best midsem break that year or 21st 2 months later) this album does an amazing job at depicting the deterioration of the brain with someone who has this horrible diease. I went and jumped around and could understand where I was (but that is only because of witnessing this first-hand). For me, it felt like there could have been a bit in stage 6 where there is a brief period of lucidness as this can happen really close to the end (don't know if there is a proper term but I know as it as 'The rise before the fall'. I know it doesn't always happen for everyone though, just speaking from experience). But yeah, I would not be able to listen to the full thing thanks to memories..... I could go on about this but that isn't fair on my family and others who read this. Miss you dearly Vovo

My grandpa has dementia and has had it for years, he puts boxes of stuff in my grandmas car, he asks “when are we moving to the new house” my grandma would drive him around the neighborhoods until he falls asleep, then she would wake him up and tell him “were here” he would get excited and unbox the stuff in his room, at random times in the night he would call out “mom, help me, im stuck in the chair” he also has Parkinson’s so he cant move during the night, his mom died 15-20 years ago, he will also tear up the house when my grandma goes out for lunch, he is looking for “it” apparently, he can’t recognize his wife anymore, he talks to ppl that arent there. This stuff was all normal until about 2 weeks ago, he was found naked in my grandmas front lawn, he was taken to the hospital and is now on hospice, he has 3 and a half month expected, 4 if we are lucky, i wish he was normal again.

I imagine dementia as a reality in which your life continuously zooms in closer and closer to the present. Where you picture your life getting smaller and closer together, your entire existence trying to fit itself into one moment. A blend of your short and long term memories, dancing around each other, putting you at the whims of those around you, not understanding why daily occurrences are happening, and living in almost a drunken state without the fun part, being in a world where the only thing that exists is what you are currently focusing on, knowing that at any minute, at the mercy of your neurons, that will also disappear. You slowly lose all meaning in your life, catching glimpses where you miss the "good old days" but can only barely remember the feeling from them as if they were from another life. You don't even know who you are, if you are, why you are. One can only imagine if you were to, even for a second, understand what is happening. Your mind almost closes in on itself, becoming cramped, or 'cozy,' and leaving you trapped in a whirlwind of nothing. Almost like your life turning more and more blurry.

As someone that has a grandpa with demencia and studies psychology, if no one in your family has presented a type of demencia you should be fine, however you should still keep you mind active as a way to prevent or in the awful case you developed a type of demencia you minimaze the damage, things you can do are to read a book, to complete a jigsaw puzzle, to do math problems, etc. PD: Sorry if any grammar mistakes are made I'm from Mexico

After finishing I was still and unfeeling. Only that remained was a weight upon my heart, a non tangible brick was weighing down. I watched videos documentaries of those with dementia and like an open water gate my tears streamed down. I felt only a fraction of the impossibly big pain that those suffering felt. What was interesting is that I learned that music can help unlock patients memories for a short while. You could see the life in their eyes returning. Some cried and you could feel the realization of the reality of their state set for that small fraction of time. It hurt.

Having had a grandmother who was my all-time favourite human being in the world up until she lost her battle with dementia in 2020, I cannot get myself to listen to the entire thing, but going through each stage a few years ago was the hardest thing I've ever had to endure next to actually being a caretaker for the woman who helped me realise that it's okay to grow from pain. I miss her still, and I'd do it again just to be with her one more time. Mad respect to you for making a video about it, Jojo. 🫂
