Customer service is the downfall of most companies. It's like they don't want to do their jobs. What I think they need to do is send samples to you before your order ships out. That way you can select the right shade for you. Companies expect us to rely on technology to match our shades. That way isn't it for any woman looking for makeup. Definitely going in stores will help the process to getting the right shade. I don't think the shade looked bad on you at all it just made you look like you had a tan. Loved this review though.
Thank you for mentioning this customer service problem. I will never buy from them again because they blocked me on IG just for mentioning the comparison chart and their awful return or lack of a return policy. Then they had the nerve to offer an exchange but ONLY if the product was sealed. They're a joke.
The foundation is a perfect share for your face if your chest is covered. Like you my chest is 2-3 shades lighter than my face. You’ll need a lighter shade to match your chest. Still it looked so pretty on you!!! I bought mine on the day of the launch and I was so afraid it will be too light. It was perfect 👌. I’m so happy with my purchase and I’m oily as heck too and I can wear the foundation for more that 5 hours without it being a disgusting mess.

I went by the chart cause I wear Fenty 385 and chose Kampala but it was too dark. If you pay attention to the chart that Juvia Place released....every foundation color that I wear had its own foundation so I ended up trying every color on in Ulta.....decided on Punta Cuna! I realized that in every other foundation line I am considered dark and never tan😉
What shade did you decide to get instead? I wear the same foundation in fenty and it’s a perfect match for me. I’m juvias I got a punta cuna sample and it looked good.
Wow im glad you said this about the customer service not letting you return products. I was a little salty when I used the shade finder and then still got the wrong shade. Also none of the Ultas around me are going to carry the foundations even when they sell Juvias Place products, so its looks like im out of luck.
I went to local Ulta today.... and it was Still confusing in the store... The sale associates are lost.. and I was told “they didn’t train us on this product”🤦🏾♀️ So good luck 🍀 ladies!!
I think you're definitely right about how JP rolled out its foundation and concealer lines. I ordered as close to my match as I could eyeball. I was pretty on point but needed a deeper shade since summer in Miami is in full force. Had I known it would release in Ulta, I would have waited. I give JP the benefit of the doubt since its products are just great. Still, I think JP is still operating in 'small business mode', so CS is lacking. I also noticed that the company does everything in house, including editing (grammar and punctuation errors everywhere). I think as the brand grows and the company gets a better idea of how to operate on a grander scale, it will be better with its policies, CS, and how it helps consumers navigate the products. Thanks for your review. I agree that it was confusing trying to pick a shade. The shade comparison chart said that if I’m 400 in Fenty my shade would be 300 in JP. The shade finder on JP’s website says that I can wear 320 and 350. 🤷🏾♀️ So I just used my best judgment going by the undertones and ordered 340.

Girl after my first order arrived super fast ...I ordered butkina and 10 concealer on the 25th I haven’t got it yet ...but the coverage was everything and looks good on u the concealer balanced it out
Totally agree no exchange or returns is ridiculous in my opinion. Same thing happened to me, I wish they would offer samples at least. Maybe exchange only with store credit whatever but that's dumb because some ppl dont have Ulta and or Sephora so where does that leave them. Because they have bad customers service already that dont want more work but that's what it takes cause the same way you gain customers u will lose them. I dont have time to argue for something I purchased with my own money u ain't doing me a favor or paying me. Never will I purchased foundation or concealer on there website. Why it take so long for my order to get here. Plus the stuff I ordered on black Friday still hasn't come but the other stuff I ordered days later as gifts are already here... They needto get together cause I rather pay more money for my respect and what I am purchasing than disrespect and no kind of organization

They've has a bad rap for CS since the beginning but the products are so good they get a pass. I did a wear test yesterday and I didn't set the concealer with setting powder but used a foundation powder like micro smooth to see how it works. Turned out really well because I crease really bad as well.. Also I used my matte primer blend in my oily areas.. Bad idea it was so dry my skin was pulling and the oils were begging to come through lol.. Great review..

I am the same complexion as you and I was very disappointed with the shade finder options. The first shade chart I saw had Nars shades on there. I don't know what happened to that one. Coco swatches is a better match. However, Kampala is the closest foundation match although it is slightly darker than us. Somalia is the next lighter shade and the undertone is funny. We are NOT in that other kingdom. The pictures are a poor representation of the actual shades to me. But you look beautiful!!! New to your channel!!! Enjoyed your video!!! 😍💗💕
Lol thanks for saying it cause people really think I’m tripping when I say Kampala is to dark for me. I shouldn’t have to wrap the foundation around to the back of my head for it blend in 😂
@@JadoreDrew no you're not tripping at all! My Mom is 75 years old and swears I think I'm darker than I am. LOL. Even she said it was a called on the beach shade. LOL!!! It's a bit dark. I wear Nars Caracas, and Lancome 460 Suede W. The Fenty never really had a shade for me but the 385 did work the best. In the Too Faced I wore the Maple which was a tad too dark and too neutral mixed with the Butter Pecan which was a tad bit too yellow.
I’m also y’all shade twin in all foundations and Kampala is too dark on me even in summer and Nairobi looks ashy. So I’m going to try to mix them I guess 🤦🏽♀️
Monee Johnson I picked up Nairobi and Ethiopia and can comfortably wear both. They have slightly different undertones but are great. If I were to get a severe tan, Kampala would be fine. But it would have to be a vacation in Bali. LOL

They definitely should have updated their return policy to include the complexion products. It is standard. I orderd the wrong color from Too Faced, I called before I got the shipping notification to see if I can exchange it and they told me the same thing. For most companies the place where your order is received and where it's shipped from are two different places. Its not like they can just search for your box and switch it out. FYI, Kylie Cosmetic doesn't do any returns AT ALL...this really isn't uncommon for online brands.
Yea I wanted to switch it out once I received the package. Someone in the comments said that they allowed them to exchange it recently so I don’t even know 🤷🏽♀️😂

I did a video on this product also. I did choose the wrong color concealer. I emailed them and they switched it for me. Downside is that it took 3 weeks to come.🙄
I've ordered from them before and it took forever but then again I'm in Trinidad so.... I have heard other youtubers talk about the bad service doh but I still love their products.... great vid hun

As far as getting oily maybe try matte primer and not a hydrating one or maybe mix the the two. Also try jeffree setting powder to see if it helps with the creasing . Just throwing that out there . Things that helped me . Ps : NEW SUBBIE .
So was I girl . Then I saw the reviews while waiting for it to come in the mail and was like yeaaaa let me get my matte primer 😂. Hopefully the change that misleading info on the next production of bottles made . It’s definitely semi Matte at best .

Thanks for the vid! This looks like your summer shade but the highlighter seems to have balanced it. I would suggest Nairobi after seeing all the videos since the launch. Even punta Cana but that may be a tinge light. Hopefully they have it at my Ulta.
That’s not a bad match at all. You look like a tan at most . But you could go one shade lighter . But it’s not super bad love . And once you concealed it looked even better .
0:36 you're right. I ordered the day of and it was so hard to tell what shade to get. And the site was hard to navigate. But they have since updated it .
@@JadoreDrew it's great. The first day I wore it, it was like 90 degrees outside and humid. I live in Florida and usually certain foundations melt off my face but this one didnt . I was really surprised.

The shade finder is trash... lol It recommended me to use kampala. lol. this shade doesn;t llook bad on u. it was darker than i expected but it seemed to work in the end.
Tried Kano on my skin, I am a 450 in Fenty. Looked at a chart and Kenya is supposed to be my shade. Keno is one shade darker, however the tester for Kenya was not there..oh well.....let me check the Juvias foundation finder
Your Face is not the same shade as your neck or chest it’s gets more sunlight.. matching your neck and chest makes your chances of getting flashback higher
i totally agree! They will not accept returns. My order has not arrived yet but I'm afraid I ordered the wrong color. The phone number listed is not their number. When I reached them, I was told that my oder had been packed and the order could not be changed. Also, I'm a new subbie. TFS!!! ( I ordered Kapala also).
